The Path to Norman
Spencer Brown spent four years in the college ranks before joining the Sooners. A product of Detroit high school football, Brown had a prolific senior season of high school ball before heading to Michigan State. He was there for four seasons, during which he started 24 games and played in 33. After the 2023 season, Brown was OU’s first portal commit.
Career so Far
Brown took a redshirt season in 2020, playing in one game. In 2021, he took snaps in eight games, starting in the Peach Bowl.
2022 was a step up for the offensive tackle. Brown started in 12 games, taking the second-most snaps of all MSU offensive players.
The following year, Brown once again was a season-long starter, taking 541 total snaps. He took two starts at left tackle during the season, the only two of his career in which he has mostly played right tackle.

This Season
Brown has a chance to start in his first year in Norman, with his wealth of game experience being a huge leg up. Jake Taylor is also battling for the right tackle starting role, although he could play guard if the staff is ready to start Brown. With only one year of eligibility remaining, this is the season for Brown to impress before heading to the pros.
