The Path to Norman
Eugene Brooks, a top-100 recruit in the 2024 class, came to OU from California. He started receiving college offers the summer before his sophomore year of high school. By the time he received an OU offer in the summer of 2023, his offer sheet was deep, including programs like USC, Oregon, Georgia, and Florida State. However, Brooks’ decision came down to a Red River duel. He visited both programs in the summer of 2023 before committing to the Sooners.

Highlights
This Season
Brooks can be an asset at multiple spots on the line. He played tackle in high school, but has worked mostly at guard this offseason, with a little play at center as well. The big man has received high praise since arriving in Norman, with multiple notes that he may be ready to contribute his first year on campus. While the starting lineup seems unlikely to be cracked, Brooks’ talent and the word on his readiness seem likely to push him into playing time as freshman.
