Mykel Patterson-McDonald, an in-state safety in the 2024 class, is an OU legacy; Larry McDonald played for the Sooners in the 90s. Oklahoma was Mykel’s first offer in January 2023, although offers from Michigan State, Missouri, Iowa State, and others followed. However, the hometown team got the safety’s commitment in the summer of 2023.
