The Path to Norman

OU added linebacker Phil Picciotti all the way from Pennsylvania. Picciotti made several visits to Norman after receiving his offer from the Sooners in the fall of 2021. The new staff made him a priority when they arrived, landing Oklahoma in a top four including Michigan, Auburn, and Nebraska. As a recruit, he was viewed as someone who could bring a physical presence to the inside linebacker position. On Independence Day 2022, Picciotti made his announcement.

Following his commitment, Picciotti played his senior season at IMG Academy in Florida.

Career so Far

Picciotti took a redshirt season in 2023 and did not play after a season-ending ACL tear.

Highlights

This Season

Picciotti has continued recovering from his ACL surgery over the offseason, but is close to 100 percent. He will provide depth at middle linebacker this fall at a very talented position.
