The Path to Norman

Kaden Helms came to Norman out of Nebraska. The high four-star tight end was offered by Coach Joe Jon Finley shortly after joining staff back in January 2021. Helms’ top four included Miami, Arizona State, and North Carolina, along with the Sooners. Finley locked down Helms, who joined Llewellyn as freshman tight ends in the 2022 OU recruiting class.

Highlights

This Season

After a lackluster 2023 season, the OU tight end room has a new look in 2024. Transfers Bauer Sharp and Jake Roberts will be the first and second options at the spot. After that, a group of Kade McIntyre, Josh Fanuiel, Davon Mitchell, and Helms will battle for snaps. Now healthy, Helms has a chance to push for that third spot and earn snaps this fall for the Sooners.
