100 Days to Football Time in Oklahoma: #2 Theo Howard

The Path to Norman

Theo Howard, out of Westlake High School in California, started his college career at UCLA. He played in 34 games throughout four seasons, ranking third on the team in receiving yards in 2017 and second in 2018. Howard was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 mention in 2018 as well. Unfortunately, he redshirted in 2019 due to injury, only playing against the Sooners (foreshadowing?). He decided to transfer late in 2019, and Oklahoma was announced as the destination in January.

Career so Far

Howard suffered another injury this offseason, hurting his achilles. Thankfully, the transfer was able to recover in time for this season. After a recovery period, TFB started to hear a lot of positive talk around Howard.

Highlights

2020 Season

With all the positive talk around Howard, it’s not surprising that he is going to be a major contributor this fall. The experience Theo brings will be a deal this year; with receiver depth taking several hits, Howard will be key. The depth chart released this week has Howard sharing the starting title with Theo Wease at the X receiver spot. Look for Howard to be a nice addition to the Sooners receiving group in 2020.
