The Path to Norman
Ralph Rucker comes to OU out of Fairview, Texas. He was a multi-sport athlete at Lovejoy High School, also involved in baseball and wrestling. Rucker was a finalist for the Landry Award, given to the top football player in North Texas – former OU great Kyler Murray and current Sooner Kennedy Brooks won the award. The quarterback joined Oklahoma as a preferred walk-on.

Highlights
This Season
The Sooners have a stable full of quarterbacks in 2021. Spencer Rattler returns to start, with talented freshman Caleb Williams presumably on a path to redshirt this year and take over in 2022. Behind them is a handful of newcomers and old hats to provide depth. Rucker will be in that group this year in his first year in Norman, presumably redshirting as he looks toward the future.
