The Path to Norman

Kaden Helms came to Norman out of Nebraska. The high four-star tight end was offered by Coach Joe Jon Finley shortly after joining staff back in January 2021. Helms’ top four included Miami, Arizona State, and North Carolina, along with the Sooners. Finley locked down Helms, who joined Llewellyn as freshman tight ends in the 2022 OU recruiting class.

In his first year in college, Helms took a redshirt season. He played in three games, including his previous home of Nebraska.

Highlights

This Season

The OU tight end room was thoroughly beaten up this offseason. The former tight ends from the 2022 class, Helms and Llewellyn, both missed time and are both unfortunately still out without a clear timetable. Hopefully the young man can get fully healthy this season and earn playing time for the Sooners.
