The Path to Norman
Reggie Grimes, whose father is a former Alabama defensive lineman, played high school ball in Tennessee. He began receiving major offers from big programs, but didn’t have much interaction with OU until later in the process. He visited Norman in October, 2019, after which TFB’s Super K went to see him. K came away impressed:

Not long after that visit, the Sooners got a Thanksgiving day Boom.

Career so Far
Grimes didn’t get to Norman until the summer, but he didn’t waste any time in bulking up. He was listed at 242 his senior season of high school; he’s now up to 266.

Highlights
2020 Season
Grimes has already put on some excellent size. He’s already one of the biggest listed defensive ends on the roster. With guys like Ronnie Perkins (suspended), Marcus Stripling, Isaiah Thomas, Noah Arinze, and Grimes all competing for playing time at defensive end, it will be a tough spot to crack this year. However, with his size and potential, Reggie Grimes has all the tools to be a major force in this Alex Grinch defense.
