The Path to Norman

Davis Beville was a three-year starter at quarterback in high school playing in South Carolina. He committed to play for Pitt in 2018 and enrolled in 2019. After a redshirt season, he played sparingly for two seasons. Following the 2021 season, Beville entered the transfer portal and joined the Sooners.

Career so Far

Beville took a redshirt season in 2019 and did not play. He played in nine games over the next two seasons in a backup role at quarterback.

In his first year with the Sooners, Beville played in five games, mostly in a reserve role. Against Texas with Dillon Gabriel out, Beville made the first start of his career on a day when the OU offense couldn’t do much of anything.

This Season

Dillon Gabriel returns to start at quarterback for Oklahoma. Behind him will be freshman Jackson Arnold, who has certainly looked the part over the offseason. Beville will provide depth behind those two, alongside General Booty.
