    That clothesline…

I had seats right behind the goalposts at the south end. Two extra points came right up to me. The first one was tipped twice, and right into my hands. I dropped it. Couldn’t have been an easier catch. I blame wet hands and a wet football. About 45 minutes later, I got a chance to redeem myself. A second extra point was coming right at me. It too was tipped in front of me, but I managed to catch this one clean. I let the little girl sitting next to me hold it for a minute, then threw it back towards the field. Only, I forgot about the should surgery I had earlier this year, and that my arm strength is WAY down still. I didn’t make it to the field, and the ball hit somebody in the back of the head. 🙁 Not my proudest moment. lol

Also saw Ryan Spangler and his gf sitting a few rows behind me.

    • Oscar says:

Oh man! Hope that didn’t get you punched! LOL

    • blaster1371 says:

Ohhh so it was you that gave my grandmother a concussion?????!!!!!!!!

Just kidding. I’ve never want to have to throw a ball back to someone for that very reason…. And I would not have the legit excuse you had.

    • hOUligan says:

I’d have had the little girl throw it back. LoL With my shoulders, know I couldn’t get it to the field.

    • Boomer4life says:

I would of pointed to the little girl and shrugged my shoulders.

    • Coach K says:

Many think I am the reason they added a net to the old North End Zone stands in Tulsa. The throw back landed oh so close to the Head official.

  • Steven says:

Sad that the Tuba hit didn’t make the highlight reel.

I loved the quick start. We seemed to be always playing catch up last year and we seem to have fixed the problem completely. Neal sure fell down a lot, he looks somewhat raw, but that’s to be expected. Punting wasn’t real good. Wilson hit’s hard! It was a game of two halves again where we seemed much more ineffective after the half. I hope that it’s due to the big leads we have had, as we are the team that traditionally makes the better adjustments at the half- and get better, not worse, as the game goes on!

    • Jed says:

I’m going to withhold judgment on Neal’s footing issues. The field was sloppy yesterday and others were having footing problems, as well.

    • CPSooner says:

Plus several of Knight’s throws were behind him, making him have to break down in order to catch it….you mix that with wet sloppy field, and there’s your falling down issues. I even remember Sterling falling down a couple of times. Not slamming TK9, I realize this was only his 7th career start, but want to see him “lead” his receivers a little bit better. Several deep balls, especially to Sterling, were under thrown, or Sterling would have had about 275 yards and 4 TD’s. Hopefully, and I believe he will, Knight will improve on this as the season progresses. Boomer!

    • Cush Creekmont says:

The second play of the game pass to Neal was well behind him. On a dry field, he makes the catch and spins in for the TD – a better pass and he jogs to the EZ in stride. The TU field is artificial, but with 30% cork and 70% rubber instead of 100% rubber – perhaps that type surface is slipperier than the other.

Stoops said on his show that the weather was great for players and coaches compared to heat. It was not so for us fans. The light rain was incessant and even with parkas seemed to soak in.

One last observation versus the DVR version of the game – going north (toward the building end zone and not the bleacher one) the wind held the ball up some. That and the “thick” air might have made the long throws harder to judge.

  • CDC says:

Thanks for the vids. I enjoyed watching them!

  • blaster1371 says:

Other than what was reported by Newsok yesterday, any word on Sanchez?

  • JT says:

If ESPN thinks I’m going to give a rat’s behind about GameDay in Fargo for a game between NDSUABCDEFG and a winless FCS team who has yet to crack 20 points for the year, they better promise more than Corso in a funny hat.

  • Thomas Lenard says:

I posted it in open post, but thought I’d post it here too, since it is a highlight (of sorts)
LB Gastelum received gameball and scholarship after the game in Tulsa!

  • shawn says:

If TK9 had brought a couple of his passes up and lead the receiver more he could have 3 more TD’s easily and probably between 60-80 yards through the air. Too bad the conditions were as poor as they were this offense would have scored a lot more
