Boom News! | ’24 OL Daniel Akinkunmi Commits to Oklahoma!

The Sooners add a large piece to the #24K offensive line class as Daniel Akinkuni out of London, England, has announced his pledge to Oklahoma!

Akinkunmi (6’4.5 310) chose the Sooners over a top five that consisted of Clemson, Miami, Ole Miss and Baylor. He also held numerous other offers including offers from Penn State, Nebraska, Texas Tech, North Carolina, Duke and Arkansas.

Akinkunmi attends the NFL Academy and while he is a raw product, he has a very high ceiling as he is a very athletic big man who has displayed a ton of strength and very good footwork.

He is a guy that likely projects as an interior offensive lineman for the Sooners while there is some potential to bounce out to tackle if needed.

Akinkunmi is the fourth high school offensive line commit in the ’24 class as he joins Eugene Brooks, Isaiah Autry, and Josh Aisosa in the Sooners class.

Oklahoma is still actively pursuing Eddy Pierre Louis (who we have them leading for) as well as Grant Brix who is deciding between OU, KSU, and Nebraska. Currently, I have Brix leaning towards Nebraska, but OU would take all six high school targets if they want in.

Nice addition for the Sooners as they potentially open an international pipeline.
