The Path to Norman

Joshua Eaton attended Aldine MacArthur High School in Texas. TFB’s Super K described him as a good speed corner with truly elite size and movement and excellent ball skills. The August before his signing day, he committed to the Longhorns. Thankfully for Sooner fans, that decision didn’t last long; he decommitted in October, shortly after a visit to Norman. His offer list included programs like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Purdue, and USC. After some speculation of when he would sign, Eaton announced his decision to attend OU on the early signing day.

Career so Far

Eaton saw action in five games in his freshman season. He had the chance to gain game experience and work behind several older starters.

In 2021, Eaton played in 10 games throughout the season in a reserve role. In a secondary that seemed hesitant to develop depth, Eaton saw very limited playing time.

Highlights

This Season

Eaton is one of a very large pool of corners vying for time this year. Monday’s depth chart had Jaden Davis and Woodi Washington as the starters, with Kendall Dennis, D.J. Graham, C.J. Coldon, Kani Walker, and Eaton all behind them. Despite the large amount of competition, expect to see Eaton consistenly earning snaps in 2022.
