The Path to Norman
Jamrrien Burt and the Sooners made quick work of Burt’s recruiting journey toward OU. When the new regime arrived in Norman, Coach Brandon Hall made contact and started recruiting Burt as a safety / nickel. Burt made a visit to Norman shortly after his offer, when he very nearly committed. However, he decided to wait to visit Missouri. After a conversation with Coach Venables, Burt did not make the trip and announced for the Sooners on signing day.

Highlights
This Season
Burt has the athleticism to play corner, nickel, safety, receiver… plenty of spots. The Sooners have worked him at safety over the offseason (he arrived in Norman in June). With an extremely large pool of options in the secondary, Burt will likely redshirt this and prepare to be a bigger piece of the OU defense in the future.
