Gavin Marshall played high school football in Frisco, Texas. He was a top-20 kicker in the country per Kohl’s Kicking camps and had offers from programs including Florida State, Army, and Air Force. In the summer of 2021, he committed to the Sooners.

With long-time starter Gabe Brkic graduating, the kicker spot is fairly open. Zack Schmit has played in six games over the past few years, kicking one field goal and four PATs. While Schmit is the likely nod at starter, Marshall is a freshman with the talent and opening to give him a legit chance to start in 2022.
