The Path to Norman
Kelleher went to long-snapping camps across the United States; the Ohio native spent time training all over. Although he committed to Toledo for a short period of time, he couldn’t turn down the opportunity for a preferred walk-on spot with the Sooners.
Career so Far
Kasey took a redshirt season in 2017. 2018 saw Kelleher take over the starting long snapper spot after the departure of Wesley Horky, playing in all 14 games. In the spring of 2019, Kasey was put on scholarship for OU.
Blessed! As of today I have been put on full scholarship at the University of Oklahoma. Can’t thank the people who helped me get here enough! A lot of hard work went into this and I’m proud to be a sooner! @OU_Football @LincolnRiley #boomersooner #oudna pic.twitter.com/MWObFkFgyP

2019 saw Kelleher continue in his starting role at long snapper, playing in all 14 games as the snapper on punts and placekicks.
In 2020, Kasey once again started all season, extending his streak of games as the OU snapper to 39. He also earned Academic All-Big 12 honors.
2021 was no different; Kelleher was the snapper all 13 games and earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors. While this originally would have been his final season in crimson and cream, he took advantage of the 2020 ‘free’ year and returned for one more season.

This Season
Kelleher has played in 52 (straight) games for the Sooners and is expected to start again in 2022. Just last season, Bryan Mead demolished the record for games played in an Oklahoma uniform at 66 (the record was previously 55 games); everyone believed that record would not be sniffed any time soon. However, with Kelleher back for an extra season, he is easily on pace to slot into second in this record. Depending on how the Oklahoma season goes, he has a shot to tie or even break the record set by Mead. Sooner fans will certainly be hoping for that in Kelleher’s final season in Norman.
