Boom News! | ’22 EDGE Kevonte Henry Signs with Oklahoma!
Posted on: February 2, 2022
The Sooners added another nice piece to the ’22 class as ’22 EDGE Kevonte Henry has flipped his commitment from Michigan to Oklahoma!
Henry (6’4 225) out of Lawndale, CA visited Norman back in January and he loved his time.
Following the trip, Super K wrote HERE that OU impressed Henry:
‘ (6’4 225) out of Lawndale, CA really enjoyed the trip to Norman and the Sooners are squarely in the mix.
Source told K that OU is in ‘As good of a place as they want to be’ in regard to where they stand in this recruitment.
K was also led to believe that it is more likely that Henry winds up as an Oklahoma Sooner as opposed to a Michigan Wolverine (the program he is currently committed to) or a USC Trojan.’
While there were rumblings out there of Henry and OU, this still came as a bit of a surprise to me with R Mason Thomas already signing, but with Ahmad Moten picking Miami, numbers opened up even though they don’t play the same position.
This is a really nice pick up for Oklahoma and Henry has a really high upside and a great frame to add some muscle.
He has really good speed for a guy his side and he is pretty fluid. I like this kid’s upside a lot.
