100 Days to Football Time in Oklahoma: #14 Jalil Farooq

The Path to Norman

Jalil Farooq comes to Oklahoma all the way from Maryland. The highly-ranked receiver and defensive back had an offer list of who’s who in college football – Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Clemson to name a few. Farooq was one of a handful of recruits in the 2021 class with a strong connection to QB Caleb Williams, a driving factor in the recruiting class. Farooq made it to Norman for the Summit event that Williams and family put on in late summer. Not long after that, Farooq announced his decision to be a Sooner.

Highlights

This Season

Oklahoma has a mixture of experience and new hats in the receiver group. Guys like Theo Wease, Marvin Mims, Jadon Haselwood, Mario Williams, and Mike Woods will likely be leaders at the spot. However, considering how many bodies Coach Riley uses at receiver, players beyond those five will be called on. Farooq can and likely will earn snaps this season on an offense that should be one of the nation’s best.
