The Path to Norman
Bryson Washington started his recruiting journey a long time before his signing day. His first Power 5 offer came in October, 2017, almost two and a half years before his signing day. He played at C.E. King in Houston, Texas before transferring to Mater Dei in California to finish his high school career. Washington was a top-rated recruit with an impressive offer sheet; Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, and Texas were just some of the big names wanting the young man at their program. As time went on, it came down to just Texas and OU as his top two schools. Then, Coach Riley dropped his bat signal.

Highlights
This Season
Bryson Washington has been working at safety during his time in Norman. Last year’s starters, Pat Fields and DTY, are returning and are expected to retain their spots, but have stiff competition. Behind them is a lot of talent vying for playing time; Tennessee transfer Key Lawrence, Justin Broiles, Kendall Dennis, Jordan Mukes, and Washington are all in that group. Washington’s athleticism will be a driving force in his push for increased playing time in 2021.
