The Path to Norman
Kendall Dennis, out of Lakeland, Florida, was part of the 2020 class. He had offers from Florida, Miami, Florida State, and Georgia by the summer of 2019; all of those programs had proximity as an advantage. Then, in a quick series of events, Dennis was offered by the Sooners and made an official visit in November. Shortly after that, Kendall was a signing day announcement for OU.

Highlights
This Season
Recruited as a corner, Dennis has seen time at safety this offseason. TFB has routinely mentioned the high levels of praise being offered for the young DB. Back in April, Super K reported,
“Kendall Dennis’ name is coming up more and more at safety. He’s quietly becoming a guy. We know he’s an exceptional athlete. Probably the twitchiest DB. But I’m told he’s making plays…hands on the ball, tackles.”
The secondary has a logjam of talent right now, a good problem to have. With Pat Fields and DTY returning to start at safety, a group including Key Lawrence, Justin Broiles, and Dennis will be working to earn snaps. Dennis could even see time at nickel or his original spot of corner; with his high level of athleticism and obvious skill, the staff seems invested in finding a way to get him on the field. Sooner fans will be clamoring to see that happen in 2021.
