Boom News! | ’23 ATH Treyaun Webb Commits to Oklahoma!

The Sooners started off their weekend with a big bang on the recruiting trail this afternoon as elite 2023 athlete Treyaun Webb (6’0 188) out of Jacksonville, FL announced his verbal pledge to Oklahoma!
Webb becomes the first verbal commit for OU in the ’23 class and he may just be the tip of the iceberg of what could potentially be a truly special class.
Treyaun and his family visited the Sooners for the ChampUBBQ back in June. Shortly after the visit, he announced his Top 3.
Webb chose the Sooners over Ohio State and Georgia. He was previously committed to Georgia (November ’19 – June ’21). He holds more than three dozen offers from all the power programs across the country.
The Sooners are recruiting Webb at running back and DeMarco Murray and Lincoln Riley have done a great job recruiting the star player. It did not hurt that Webb got some facetime with Adrian Peterson while at the ChampUBBQ as well.
An added bonus of the Webb commit? He is pretty tight with numerous other Florida targets for OU in his class including elite WR Brandon Inniss.
There is a long way to go till signing day for the ’23 class, and the Sooners will have to stay on top of this recruitment and continue to work, but his addition is a tremendous kickoff to the class and should serve as great momentum for Oklahoma!
