The Path to Norman
Tyrese Robinson was one of the early commitments for the 2017 class. Despite offers from schools including Miami, Kansas State, and Missouri, he committed almost a year before signing with the 2017 class.

Career so Far
Tyrese took a redshirt year in 2017. In 2018, Robinson saw action in six games in a backup role at guard.
The next year, Robinson stepped up big. He started in all 14 games, all but two at right guard. In the two games in which Adrian Ealy was injured, Robinson was the man Coach Bedenbaugh trusted to play right tackle, despite no experience at the spot. With a lot of turnover to the NFL, the 2019 offensive line wasn’t quite at the level Sooner fans have come to expect.
In 2020, Robinson once again started all season. He and Marquis Hayes locked down the guard spots throughout the season, part of a group protecting new quarterback Spencer Rattler. PFF gave Robinson the highest-ranked pass blocking of OU’s starting linemen.

This Season
Both Hayes and Robinson return as the starting guards for the 2021 season. The most likely competition at the guard spot will be Robert Congel and whichever of Andrew Raym and Chris Murray don’t win the starting job at center. Despite some work at tackle this offseason and the competition mentioned, Robinson is expected to continue at right guard this year for this third season in a row as a starter.
