The Path to Norman

Chris Murray was a UCLA Bruin at the start of his college career. A former 4* recruit out of California, Murray joined the Bruins as part of the 2018 class. He proceed to start in all 24 games of his freshman and sophomore seasons, switching between guard and center. The lineman was named to the freshman All-American team by both ESPN and 247Sports. In the spring of 2020, Murray transferred to Norman for his final two seasons.

Career so Far

It took an unfortunately long time for Murray to gain his eligibility after transferring from UCLA; when he did, Murray saw action in five games for the Sooners as a backup at right guard.

This Season

There are several excellent candidates for the starting job at center, but Andrew Raym and Murray look to be the leaders. Both are also options at the guard spots, flexibility that Coach Bedenbaugh thoroughly enjoys. Regardless of who wins the starting spot, Sooner fans should expect to see a lot of the experienced Murray this fall.
