Boom News! | ’22 DB Xavion Brice Commits to OU!

The Sooners continue their hot run in July on the recruiting trail as they pick up a verbal commitment from ’22 defensive back target Xavion Brice (6’1 175) out of Arlington, TX.
As Super K noted yesterday on the Donor Board, Brice could wait no longer to announce his decision.
Brice camped at OU the same weekend Robert Spears-Jennings and picked up an offer on the same day.
Xavion had been being recruited as a wide receiver throughout the early stages of his recruitment but OU offered him as a defensive back. Following the OU offer, Brice picked up offers from Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Baylor.
Last week when I spoke to Xavion he told me that he was planning on committing on July 10th, but he was thinking about moving that back.
In that same interview, he also said “What really stood out was how the coaches and the players really made it feel like home. Coach Manning made a great impression on me as well”.
Looks like the feeling of ‘home’ won out and Brice decided to move UP his commitment date instead of moving it back!

‘Will need a year or two to get adjusted before he is ready to contribute but Xavion Brice offers upside at defensive back. He has the length, ball skills and positional flexibility that the Sooners seem to favor.
