The Path to Norman
Joshua Ellison, a Texas native, had a relatively short recruiting experience with the Sooners. After starting college in the JUCO ranks at Blinn College, he was committed to Texas A&M until December, 2019; then, OU entered the picture. Ellison decommitted from the Aggies, received an offer from Oklahoma, took a visit to Norman, committed to the Sooners, and signed all within the span of two weeks.

Highlights
This Season
The defensive line was a strength for the Sooners last season and looks to be again in 2021. OU’s three main guys at nose tackle this season – Perrion Winfrey, Jordan Kelley, and Ellison – are all returning from 2020. Winfrey will be the starter, but both Kelley and Ellison will see valuable minutes at a deep position. While Kelley and Ellison are juniors, Winfrey is a senior; Ellison can solidify a starting role in 2022 with an impact season in 2021. TFB has reported that Ellison has been one of this spring’s best players on the defensive line; look for a solid season from the big guy.
