The Path to Norman
Isaiah Coe started his career in the JUCO ranks, attending Iowa Western CC – once a teammate of OU lineman Perrion Winfrey. The Sooners began their pursuit in earnest in the spring of 2020, when Coe was already one of the top-ranked JUCO prospects in the country. After a relatively short courting, the Sooners earned a commitment in the summer of 2020.

Highlights
This Season
Isaiah Coe will look to contribute in the interior line this fall. He arrived in Norman this spring; after a tweaked hammy, Coach Thibs has mentioned Coe as the “most powerful guy in the group.” That’s not surprising, as he’s the second-largest defensive player on the roster. Likely to slot in at the nose tackle spot, which his former teammate Winfrey will headline, he’ll be competing with guys like Josh Ellison and Jordan Kelley for snaps. Sooner fans will be excited to see the big man in crimson and cream this fall.
