Interesting.
If there is a silver lining to falling flat on your face just past the finish line, I suppose it’s having done so after winning the race.

Jordan, when are we going to see Part 3 of the “Recruiting Issues” stories?
I’m still waiting for the rest of the Sugar Bowl breakdown.
That’s a Super K deal, we’d have to ask him
A big resounding NO to selling beer in the stadium! For years, a guy sat behind me at OU games and out leave the stadium during halftime and knock down how many beers. My wife and I (along with everyone around him) had to endure the smell and his obnoxious manner in the second half. Of course, that stopped when OU would not allow reentry if you left at halftime. Now they want to allow that in the stadium? NO please.
You should go to a LSU game at night…
Mbanasor says he will release his “top list” tomorrow. Let’s see what kind of order he gives.
I wish the Big 12 would add 2 more teams, but then a part of me doesn’t feel like it should. Who would be added? Big12CCG wouldn’t be the same IMO. No OU vs Nebraska or OU vs Mizz. I guess there is still OU vs KSU.
An interesting question to ponder…should the Big 12 try to add BYU?
Every other conference is growing and getting stronger, expanding their recruiting footprint and in doing so creating big name matchups on an annual basis. All while the Big 12 has gone in the opposite direction.
Whether that is part of the answer or not remains to be seen, but it is more than very clear that something has to be done or in 50-75 years OU may go the way of pre WWII football powers and be little more than a once gloried program.
Sooner or later the Big 12 powers that be are going to have to face reality, and decide to expand. Everybody always talks about “expanding our footprint” both TV wise and with recruiting. I personally think we should bring in at least 2 teams: BYU and Marshall. Then go back to North and South divisions and a championship game. It would be even better to bring in another 2 teams to make it 14, and rename the conference. I would like Fresno State and Nevada. Give one of them to the South division and call it good. I know these teams aren’t traditional powerhouses, but neither were Utah and Colorado for the Pac, but it was still very positive for their conference. Our conference would cross borders with the Pac and the BIG and at least border the SEC and ACC — an almost coast to coast footprint.
The Colorado addition made sense, as they are a program with some tradition but more importantly are a flagship state institute; and a very recognizable one at that. Utah, I believe was simply an addition to even the number out and they were a state flagship school that made sense.
I personally don’t want to see the Big 12 expand just for the sake of expanding, and see them add tier 2 programs. But reality is outside of BYU, and some may debate them, all that is remaining are tier 2 programs.
It is very possible that the best option remaining for Oklahoma is to escape the Big 12. Sadly though, it will take new leadership who possess longterm vision and foresight for such a move to occur.
I’m more off the wall. University of Central Florida: claim to be the 2nd largest in nation for students, nearby attractions, home to some of the best football players in country(Florida). University of Cincinnati: location, sports oriented town, nice area to visit, home to some of the best football players in the country(Ohio). I know both would need to upgrade facilities, but that seems to be the norm now days. WVU would like the locations and all Big 12 teams could expand their recruiting. Never been to Lubbock-but verses Orlando and Cincinnati?
I think Central Florida is a fairly good idea. I said Marshall because it would throw WV a bone, and I saw that they had a good year and won a bowl game. Not that I am a fan of WV but it seems their experience in the Big 12 has not been so good, and we can’t afford to lose anyone. Maybe we could get Central Florida instead of Nevada.
