Boom News! | 2020 JUCO DB Justin Harrington Commits to Oklahoma

The Sooners added some more signing day juice to their 2020 defensive back class as Justin Harrington out of Bakersfield College has given Lincoln Riley his verbal commitment!
As Super K mentioned in his weekend visitor preview Harrington is a very fast and aggressive player who will be enrolling in January. He will hit you and he will do it in a sound manner:
“***He’s certainly the size OU is looking for in the secondary. He tells me he stands 6’2 and 3/4’’ flat footed! He says he currently weighs 207 lbs.
***He’s fast. He’s very fast. His father was apparently a professional sprinter. His mother was an all conference 100m sprinter for Fresno State. So, he has serious genetics.
***On film, it’s pretty clear he’s a hitter. He’s hitting guys hard but he’s hitting guys clean. The Sooners need more of those. They have to have some guys that can come in and push or overtake the current DBs, especially in the interior.”
Harrington is a good pick up for the Sooners as he will bring some immediate maturity, physicality, speed, and experience to the defensive back room.
The Sooners will be able to figure out the best position for him once he gets on campus, but there is an argument to be made for corner, nickel, and safety with his versatility.
On why he chose OU, Harrington said “I felt in my heart that this was the place for me. And, after seeing the improvement in their defense and their style, it made me feel like I’d fit well in it”.
