The Path to Norman
Prentice McKinney, a Dallas, Texas area player, took a long path toward committing to the Sooners. After being committed to Notre Dame for almost an entire year, he flipped his commitment to North Carolina two weeks before signing day. Then, on 2015 signing day itself, he switched that to the Sooners.

Career So Far
The summer after McKinney arrived on campus, TFB heard rave reviews about the talented defensive back; all signs seemed to point to him being the second team free safety as a freshman. However, despite being a three-year player, he has very little playing time under his belt. McKinney has played sparingly in the three years he has been on campus and will have to fight to change that in the future.

Stats
2018 Season
Unfortunately, Prentice is currently recovering from a shoulder surgery and is expected to miss the entire season. The depth at safety has taken a hit recently with the injuries to both Chanse Sylvie and McKinney. Hopefully, McKinney can get back to 100% this season (which will presumably be a redshirt season) and return next year ready to play.
