We’ll have more with Stogner later as the Sooners are working to get a jump on the 2019 class.
– Team Note | Cornerback Spot: Coming into this spring it might have seemed that the Sooners were set at cornerback with Jordan Thomas and freshman, Jordan Parker. But as we’ve previously mentioned, Parnell Motley continues to impress. Sources tell us that Motley has actually begun to take first team reps from Parker though Parker still seems to be getting the bulk of those reps.
Even last year during fall camp, Motley was leading the team in interceptions. He’s continued that trend but has become even more comfortable in the defense.
One source said that Parker will likely be the starter for the spring game but that fans shouldn’t take that to mean the competition is over. Parker, the source said, will receive the benefit of having been the starter last season but Motley is making a serious push. – (Super K)
– Team Note | Kapri Doucet Moving Around?: Spoke to a source who tells me us that OLB, Kapri Doucet has been impressive lately…but where? We are told that Doucet has been taking some reps at inside linebacker.
It would seem the Sooners are trying to build some solid competition between athletic guys like Doucet, Beal, JMT, Bolton and others.
I am told that Deberry is taking his reps inside as we had previously noted but as of right now it doesn’t seem like he’s getting any of the first team reps. – (Super K)
