– TJ Pledger: As expected 2018 RB, TJ Pledger (IMG Academy) will visit Oklahoma this weekend…
On my way to Norman 📍#Boomer

As we mentioned earlier in the week, Oklahoma is on Boom watch here. A source informed us that Pledger has been fairly open with people close to him that his plan was to commit on this visit. We have not been able to confirm that directly with Pledger but we continue to believe that the Sooners could pick up their 2018 RB in the next couple days. – (Super K)
– Jordan Kelley: The Sooners are also on Boom watch for 2018 DT, Jordan Kelley (Tulsa, OK). Kelley announced his final three and has set his commitment date this weekend. Our Alex King will be on hand.

Speaking to a source close to Kelley, we are confident this one will go the Sooners way. As we’ve mentioned before, Kelley has admitted to us that he grew up an OU fan. We noted shortly after Patrick Fields committed that we felt like Kelley could be the next commit (though Pledger could beat him to it).
It sounds like the Sooner staff believes Kelley will end up committing to OU and that’s where things get a bit interesting…
– Calvin Avery: I reached out to 2018 DT, Calvin Avery (Dallas, TX) to see if he might be making a return trip to Norman this spring. Avery said he wasn’t sure if he’d make a return trip because the Sooner staff reached out to him and let him know that if Kelley commits then that would be “your spot”, meaning Avery would presumably no longer have a spot with the Sooners.
I asked Avery he was considered trying to commit first and he said, “we (Avery and his family) all agreed on signing day”.
Avery won’t try and beat Kelley to the punch.
Either way, if Kelley and Pledger jump in the boat, it’s going to start feeling a little bit like the 2017 class where OU picked up some spring commitments and started to really roll through the spring and summer. – (Super K)
– Team Note | Parnell Motley: Was told by a source that a guy to watch that could potentially dethrone Jordan Parker as the starting cornerback is Parnell Motley.
Motley fits the mold of what OU likes in a cornerback, a smaller quicker db that can break on the ball and make plays on the ball. I’m told Motley had at least two interceptions in practice yesterday alone. – (Super K)
