– Cam Jones: As we’ve previously discussed, 2018 DB, Cam Jones will announce his decision in April. Also as we mentioned, Jones has told us he is deciding between: OU, Texas Tech, Minnesota, UCLA, Baylor, Colorado, and Miss. State.
However, it is well known by now that Jones’ decision will likely come down to OU and UCLA.
Jones didn’t tip his hand to us either way. I did speak to someone close to Jones and I was told that he likes both OU and UCLA but was told, “If he gets past the distance issue it will be UCLA but he is so close to his mom so I’m thinking he will ultimately pick OU”.
Essentially, I’m being told that Jones likes UCLA but OU should win out based on distance. I spoke to a second source who mentioned that Jones has not visited UCLA but that he has a close relationship with the UCLA staff and his fascination with the idea of LA seems to be driving his interest in UCLA but that source, too, also felt he’d ultimately choose OU between those two options. – (Super K)
– Scott Pagano: A source confirms that Clemson defensive line transfer, Scott Pagano still plans to visit the Sooners at the end of this month, March 31st.
– Byron Hobbs: As you all know 2018 LB, Byron Hobbs (Ft. Worth, TX) visited OU recently for a jr day in Norman. Hobbs confirmed that he will make a return trip to OU for the Sooners spring game.
Busy spring for OLB Byron Hobbs (@ByronVaughns). Will visit Texas on Sat, TAMU on 3/31, TCU on 4/1, OU on 4/8, OSU on 4/15, & Ark on 4/29.

I’ve spoken to Hobbs’ mother who indicated to me that Byron will in all likelihood stay somewhere close to home so look for this one to come down to OU, OSU, TAMU, Texas, TCU and Arkansas.
Going into his most recent Texas visit I liked where the Sooners stood. After that I would have put Texas and OU neck and neck. Arkansas recently offered and that is a bit of a game changer. Hobbs father attended the University of Arkansas and is originally from Arkansas. However, Hobbs mother did recently mention that Byron’s father doesn’t seem to be pushing him in any particular direction.
Ultimately I feel confident in saying that the Sooners are sitting somewhere up there in his top two or three. These upcoming return visits will be the deciding factor. Do not expect to see Hobbs string this out very long. Hobbs mother has told me that once a decision is made it will be final. – (Super K)
