Marquise Brown: I’ll start today with JUCO WR, Marquise Brown (College of the Canyons) since he, in my mind, he could end up being one of the more important recruits in this class. Last year you could feel like Dede Westbrook was on the cusp of something. Going into next season I think the next guy is a little less clear. Brown has that next level speed and if the Sooners can hang on to Rambo and Lamb, I think the talent will outweigh the inexperience.

Brown told me that the visit exceeded his expectations but he isn’t quite ready to make a commitment. Brown says he has one final visit remaining which will be to USC this upcoming weekend. He had previously told me that after his final official visit (which is this upcoming weekend) he will make his decision.

Brown is a January enrollee so the Sooners should know their fate very soon. But expect the staff to try to seal this thing up later this week when the drop by to see Brown… – (Super K)

– Defensive Line Visitors: The Sooners were expected to host JUCO DL and Miss. State commit, Lee Autry and Joshua Rogers (Houston, TX). Both visitors confirmed they did make it in. Autry did not previously hold an offer from the Oklahoma but he confirmed the Sooners did offer him on the visit. Also Rogers confirmed that he did make it in as well but so far neither have said much about the visit. We will try to find out more as the week goes on. – (Super K)

Noah Daniels: The Sooners also hosted long speedy CB, Noah Daniels (League City, TX). Daniels said he “loved” the visit but like Brown, wasn’t quite ready to pull the trigger. I think the Sooners put themselves in a great position for Daniels. However…

Daniels said he will visit TCU this upcoming weekend and “may be ready to decide after that”. TCU has been recruiting Daniels for longer than the Sooners. Another thing to keep an eye on is the fact that Daniels was a one time Baylor commit and may also be waiting to see who the Bears hire. – (Super K)

Addison Gumbs: Last night Brandon noted that the Sooners did an in-home visit with LB commit, Addison Gumbs (Hayward, CA).

247sports’ Taylor Hamm had previously reported that Addison Gumbs would take an official visit to TAMU. However, Gumbs has told Brandon he is not planning on taking the visit.

Hamm also mentions in his report that Gumbs likes the scheme fit at TAMU. This was something I alluded to last Friday. I’m told there is some concern that the Sooners drop their OLBs into coverage a little too much for Gumbs liking. However, I have to believe that Obo’s performance on Saturday and the Kish in-home visit probably helped Oklahoma quite a bit.

We’ll just have to keep watch here. If a visit does indeed happen this week then all bets are off. Otherwise, the Sooner should be good since Gumbs is an early enrollee. It should be noted that Gumbs has visited TAMU in the past. – (Super K)

In-home Visits: Sooner staff will be on the road this week trying to seal everything up…

Expect Rambo to get a visit today.

Lamb received a visit last night…

We expect the staff to do an in-home with 2017 DB Dangelo Gibbs (Suwanee, GA) who was not able to make it to Norman this past weekend. We are also told the Sooners will visit 2017 South Carolina DB commit, Jamyest Williams (Lawrenceville, GA) who DID make the visit this weekend. – (Brandon)

We’ll have more as we receive it…
