– Addison Gumbs: Current Sooner LB commit, Addison Gumbs is expected to enroll early. I spoke with a source who let me know that the Sooners were expected to do an in-home visit with Gumbs late this week. I have yet to confirm that visit with Gumbs.
For those who have been asking whether TAMU is a real threat to flip Gumbs, I’m told that it is a possibility. Gumbs’ father is a high school coach and I was told that there is concern about how Gumbs will be used in Oklahoma’s current defense.
How likely a flip is, I am really not sure. I know that the Sooners staff is working to assuage any concerns. – (Super K)
– Charleston Rambo: This past week, Sooners commit, Charleston Rambo (Cedar Hill, TX) picked up a Texas offer. This is what Rambo said about where things stand, “I’m still committed to OU. I’m obviously going to look at UT since they’re a new offer to me though.”
As far as a visit to Austin happening, Rambo said he hasn’t decided whether or not he will take one.
With such a talented class, it was inevitable that the Sooners were going to have to fight till the end. – (Brandon)
– Kam Curl: I spoke with the father of 2017 DB and OU offer, Kamren Curl (Muskogee, OK). Curl was expected to visit OU this weekend but has decided not to take the visit. I am told that coach Mike Stoops was in touch with Curl this week and let them know that Curl is a priority to them and they will be in Muskogee on Monday for an in-home visit.
Right now it appears that TCU, Nebraska and Arkansas are out front for Curl. Curl grew up a TCU fan and I’m told really likes the Frogs. However, Nebraska is one of the few schools recruiting Kamren as a CB (which I absolutely believe he can play and excel at given the right scheme and teaching) and Curl is intrigued with this idea. The Sooners have some work to do to make up ground. – (Super K)
– Jeffrey Okudah: Okudah is a heavy Ohio State lean but he has confirmed that OU is one of the few schools he is permitting do an in-home visit with him. The Sooners are expected do their in-home visit with Okudah next week. – (Super K)
