It’s Thanksgiving week so we will been a little in and out with many of us wrapping up things at work and traveling to see family.
– Playoff Picture: Not a ton of movement this past weekend but the Sooners won so they remain in the play-off conversation which is more than most would’ve thought a few weeks ago. Kirk Herbstreit certainly did his job lobbying for the Sooners on the telecast the other night. – (Super K)
– Texas Targets/Commits: With the chaos at Texas I know many of you are wondering if there might be an opportunity to pick off a few Texas commits/targets. I’ll offer my thoughts on a few:
Baron Browning: Was at one time seen to be a Texas lean. That’s gone out the window. The Horns didn’t make the top 6 and I’m told he’s heading to Alabama or Ohio State.
Marvin Wilson: Wilson was almost certainly going to end up at Texas. That obviously looks far less likely now. In theory that should help Oklahoma but I just don’t think it will matter in the end. Before his official visit to Norman, Wilson was expected to make a return trip for Bedlam but I’m told those plans have changed. Soonerscoop.com is reporting that Wilson has decided to make the trip. I have not been able to confirm that. My sources tell me the trip will not happen but I haven’t gotten direct word from Wilson himself. It’s certainly worth noting that the folks from Soonerscoop.com reported the news of Wilson taking the trip directly from Wilson with a quote.
Taquon Graham: Graham is a perfect fit for the Sooners defense. A big athletic, long armed defensive linemen who can generate a ton of a power at the point of contact. If you want to gap exchange, he can do that. But if you want to simply squeeze the pocket (which the Sooners typically prefer), he can do it. If Charlie is let go, I’m told Graham will consider Oklahoma. Calvin Thibodeaux has ties to the staff at Temple and Graham really enjoyed his visit to Oklahoma.
Kobe Boyce: OU has been a threat for Boyce for quite some time. The instability at Texas likely only helps OU’s chances here.
Damion Miller: There were some rumors that Texas WR commit, Damion Miller would take a visit to OU. That may still happen but my guess at this point is if he doesn’t end up at Texas, TAMU would be the choice. I will say that having been around Miller and folks close to him, there are people in Miller’s ear with strong ties to Texas. So it wouldn’t surprise me to see him end up at Texas regardless what happens. We will try to check and see if there’s a possibility of him visiting OU in the near future.
Lagaryonn Carson: I plan on checking in with Lagaryonn Carson’s family about the possibility of the Sooners get involved with him. Carson is a talented defensive lineman out of Texarkana who has been committed to Texas for quite some time. The Sooners did offer Carson early in the process. He certainly has the build of a 30 front defensive lineman. Carson has had some off the field issues so there is a chance the Sooners may not even re-involve themselves here. It’s worth noting that Carson’s mother does live in Oklahoma. – (Super K)

Also, appears the Sooners will host 2018 West Hills, CA native RB, TJ Pledger for the Bedlam game. Pledger already holds offers from schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, USC, UCLA and a host of others. #Reloading

Sooners offered 2018 DB, Leon O’Neal Jr (Cypress, TX). I have chatted with Leon and I fully expect him to a visit Oklahoma at some point in the near future.
