– Greg Rogers: I have a spoken to a couple of sources regarding where Greg Rogers may end up and I am told that he most likely ends up in the state of California. Once source said it will be either USC or UCLA. Another source mentioned UCLA only.
I’m also told by sources close to Colorado that the staff there is “still looking for a DT” which gives me a pretty clear indication that they have been told their fate and it won’t be Colorado.
I have not heard anyone mention the Sooners. If he picks OU at this point, it will be a big surprise. – (Super K)
– Team Note | Charles Walker: As you all know by now, Charles Walker has decided to move on to the next phase of his football career. As I’ve mentioned before there are different feelings on this issue inside the program. Obviously, Mike Stoops made his feelings known yesterday when he expressed his disappointment at, as he put it, Walker quitting on his teammates.
You will recall back in late October there was a report that Charles may come back. This was my comment on that…
I know there were some reports yesterday that Charles Walker may play this weekend. However, shortly thereafter, Coach Stoops noted that Walker will not be available this weekend. The reports however weren’t completely unfounded. Walker did actually practice a little bit on Monday however, I was told that on Tuesday he did not. So the initial confusion may have come from the fact that Walker appeared to be making some progress on Monday.
The impression I was given in talking to folks around Charles was that at that time Charles may have tried to come back but there was pressure by people close to him not to return. I was told that after having already suffered a number of concussions, the concern was that if he had one more, his career would be over and any chance at a future in the NFL would end. I do believe that the Tay Evan’s retirement from football due to concussions had an effect on how some of the players and their families viewed the seriousness of this matter. I get the impression it definitely concerned Charles. – (Super K)
– Team Note | Matt Dimon: I’ve been asked why Matt Dimon did not seek a medical redshirt. I checked with a source who simply said, “he’s over it. He’s accepted that he’s probably done with football after this and is fine with it and over it”. – (Super K)
