Open Post | Weekend, November 4th – 6th

Not a ton going on in recruiting right now with the Sooners having most of their 2017 class locked in. As the Baylor game approaches we’ll be hearing about more and more visitors expected to be in Norman.

Remaining Targets: With Reagor flipping to TCU the Sooners would still like to bring in a speedy receiver or two. Defensively the Sooners are still looking for some additional defensive linemen and perhaps one more linebacker. And the Sooners still have a spot for an offensive tackle or two. Lastly, the Sooners are still in the market for a defensive back. – (Super K)

WR | Marquise Brown: Earlier this week the Sooners put out a new JUCO WR offer, offering Marquise Brown (College of Canyons). Brown is known for his speed. We’ll find out what level of interest he has in the Sooners.

DE/DT | Joshua Pachal: As you all know the Sooners hosted 2017 DE/DT, Joshua Paschal (Olney, MD) earlier this season on an official visit. I chatted with a coach on the staff at Good Counsel where Paschal plays and was told that, “OU is still very high on his list”. Coach also said he has a few visits set up that remain including one two Kentucky in the next week or two. So, it sounds like a decision may not come until December.

DE/DT | Taquon Graham: I was talking to a friend of mine who coaches defense at a P5 school and the subject of who the best 3 technique is in the state of Texas this year. I expected him to say, Marvin Wilson. He didn’t. He actually said that he believed the best 3 technique in the state of Texas is Taquon Graham. “He’s so powerful, he generates so much force effortlessly and every time you see him his arms are longer and is frame is bigger”.

Graham has told folks close to him that if he doesn’t go to Texas (and he will if Charlie stays) he wants to go out of state. However, if that occurred I’m being told that Michigan would be the likely landing spot. Having said that, one can’t ignore the fact that coach Thibodeaux has a great relationship with Graham’s linebacker who coach which goes back to their days coaching at Houston.

OT | Adrian Ealy: Ealy was expected to pull the trigger in October. We have reached out to the Louisiana native about a commitment date but haven’t yet heard back. In speaking to sources on the Sooner side of this, the staff seems unsure about what the hold up is right now. We’ll continue to dig on this. – (Brandon)

OT | Chuck Filiaga: Filiaga visited last weekend and it sounds more and more like Michigan and OU are the teams to beat. Still a couple months away from a decision from the big man.

LB | Tyler Taylor: Georgia linebacker, Tyler Taylor has already visited Oklahoma twice including an official visit to Norman earlier this season. Earlier this week I caught up with Taylor and he said that he is trying to get out to Norman on yet another visit. So there is clearly still interest between Taylor and the Sooners.

DB Targets | Baylor Game: The Sooners will host at least three potential defensive backs targets next weekend.

Latavious Brini (Hialeah Gardens, FL) confirmed to me this week that he still plans on visiting for the Baylor game. You’ll recall the Sooners offered the big safety last month.

Jaylon Johnson (Fresno, CA) recently committed to Utah however the plan prior to that commitment was for him to visit Norman for the Baylor game. Still working to confirm whether that plan remains intact.

Malick Phillips (Orange, TX) doesn’t have a Sooners offer but is being recruited by Oklahoma and still has plans to be at the Baylor game.
