– Greg Rogers: Earlier this week Sooners defensive tackle target, Greg Rogers announced an early commitment date…

Rogers most recent visit was last weekend when he took a trip to UCLA. I haven’t been able to reach Rogers but it’s safe to assume that this one is going to come down to Oklahoma, UCLA, Colorado and long time favorite, USC. USC is a school that I felt had probably fallen out of the picture but with their improved play on the field the past few games, they’re a school to keep an eye on. In my early conversations with Rogers, he made it clear USC was always a favorite.
Sources on the Sooners side of this feel confident. My personal feel for this is he stay in the Pac 12 but we’ll know for sure in a little over two weeks. – (Super K)
– Team Note | Parrish Cobb: I noted earlier in the week that the reason for Cobb not traveling last week, I was told, was due to a hamstring issue. This issue is one that has been lingering for a while. I am told that the Sooners will seek a medical redshirt for the true freshman. – (Super K)
– Joshua Rogers: Tonight two Sooner defensive tackle targets will face off. Houston Christian, home of 2017 DT and recent OU offer, Joshua Rogers will play Episcopal, home of Marvin Wilson.
I caught up with Rogers earlier this week to see where things stand with him and a possible visit to Oklahoma. He said, “I do plan on taking an official visit there (to OU). I just don’t have a date set up just yet”. – (Super K)
– New 2017 Cornerback Target | Malick Phillips: I chatted with under-the-radar 2017 cornerback and current Airforce commit, Malik Phillips (Orange, TX) earlier this week. Phillips is a player the Sooners seem to have some interest in. He tells me that Oklahoma invited him to the OU vs. Baylor game and he says he will be there.
I’m still gathering information on Phillips but on film he looks to have one quality that’s sure to be a recruiting priority for an Oklahoma secondary that is struggling to get their hands on the ball…namely, he get’s his hands on the ball…a lot.
– Team Note | Joe Mixon One-Handed Grab: An interesting little note about what transpired before Joe Mixon’s one handed grab and run last weekend against Tech. I was told that just before it happened, the Sooners conditioning staff came over to check on him because he apparently looked pretty gassed. They asked him if he was ‘ok’ to which Mixon responded, “I’m fine. Watch this. I’m a machine.” And promptly housed it. – (Brandon)
– Bryan Jones: Earlier this week the Sooners offered 2017 DE, Bryan Jones (Baton Rouge, LA). Jones recently decommitted from Ole Miss. I asked Jones if he would be taking an official visit to Oklahoma and he said he hasn’t decided yet but it is a possibility. Jones tells me he’s already up to 260 lbs so clearly is being targeted as a 30 front DE in the Sooners scheme. – (Super K)
