I think Baker will have a great game. I think we will exploit the inexperienced UH secondary. Perine/Mixon will have to grind out some yards at first, but once the passing game gets started, the run game will really open up. I think LR will finally use the Andrews mismatch. I’d like to see LR utilize Andrews in the slot and attack the middle of the field. Hopefully our WRs do not get a case of the drops. If so, it may be a long game. Other than that, I think OU has a better team on paper and, barring injuries, should be able to come away with a convincing win.

I’d just like to say I don’t buy the Houston hype at all. It’s certainly possible OU could lose just like FSU did by coming in and not taking the Cougars seriously and playing uninspired football. But aside from a couple opponents that UH was able to get up for, most of their schedule last year was against very subpar competition, and many of those they barely won. Add to that the large amount of losses in personnel and the situation for them is worse. I think UH is good but mostly smoke and mirrors. If OU comes in and plays lights-out like they should, I am not even sure this game will be as competitive as people think. Just my 2 cents anyway.
I’d just like to say I hate all the people who get angry when another team gets a spotlight on them for one year. When it comes to football, Oklahoma is one of the most egotistical teams and I pray that they get their asses kicked as do I bet every other Texas university who hates them does. I will be watching this game with my hands down on the Cougars that finally they can compete on a national level since Keenum played for them.
We are confident in our team because for as long as there has been college football, Oklahoma has been at or near the top of the sport. Sure there were down years or decades (90s) but we expect OU to win every game because they straight up have the talent to do so. Saying I don’t believe the hype around a program is accurate is certainly not the same as hating or being angry they are getting the spotlight. I have no problem at all with the sports media giving UH some love, and maybe I’m wrong about how good they are. I’m just saying at this point I feel the evidence is very thin. If they come out and prove me wrong, I’ll own that. But I don’t think so. I agree with you that I don’t buy he hype. Though after watching the peach bowl I want give Houston credit. FSU defense was playing very inspired and hard but their offense with a hurt backup and playing a third string QB could not move the ball and the defense just got tired.
