Daredevil may be my favorite tv show ever. Just excellent
I think it’s tied with Fringe and Lost for me at the top.
I don’t know a ton about Fringe. Never decided to get into Lost because of how many people were pissed by the last season
I absolutely loved the last season and especially the finale. I watched every episode of Lost at least twice and I re-watch it in the summer. Same goes for Fringe, I love that show. It takes a few episodes to get into Fringe but it is well worth it. Olivia Dunham is a great character.
Hmm may have to give Fringe a go
I highly recommend it if you like SciFi with a little bit of humor. Walter Bishop is hilarious, just listen for all the different names he calls Astrid.

It’s British. Heck half the cops in England are NOT allowed to carry guns. LOL I like some of the British shows, I started watching that one but my wife hates them so I have to wait until she is watching the Hallmark channel to catch up on it.
Actually, my wife got me started watching it. I kind of like it. Wales makes Oklahoma look lush.

Yeah, I love to do ribs on my Traeger along with about everything else we eat.
of course I can. You want step by step or just the brief suggestions I gave Sam yesterday? It really is a damn good recipe ( a little time consuming ) that you’ll use from here on out.
Suggestions works fine if that is easiest for you. I have smoked ribs a few times on my Traeger so I have at least tried to make good ones. (The first batch I made was the best LOL)
Basically you need to spray the racks down at least 3-4 times during the initial smoking part with apple juice. Once the ribs have been smoking for 1-2 hours ( depending on the amount ) you take the racks and wrap them with foil and include more apple juice and pads of butter then throw them back in the smoker for 1-2 hours to let them baby’s rehydrate and separate from the bone. Then you can start coating the ribs with at least 3-4 coats every 10 minutes or so and you’re good.
Apply mustard on the racks before you apply your pre rub. Make sure that pre rub is plenty flavorful and colorful. You can find a lot of pre rubs in the store or online.
Thanks Vegas! My friend taught me about the mustard before the dry rub, he also puts a bowl of apple juice in the smoker while he is smoking he says that works well too.
Hey – I’m an avid BGE user… I just referenced your notes from yesterday. I have not been consistently re-hydrating. I’ll give this a try. Thanks! It’s def time to smoke some ribs to celebrate all these BOOM’s!
Yeah dude, the BGE is what my dad has. I’ve got a cheaper smoker unit but my apartment complex won’t allow it so its at my parents house. Re-hydrating the ribs is by far the most critical part of the process. You will literally see the meat pulling apart from the bone when you take them out of the foil to start the basting process. I hope it works out well for you.

Same here. Spent a week in Napa so this week will be spent catching up and then next week I’m going to visit my girls family in California then I’ll spend the following week playing catch up just in time to head to Houston with my family for the game! I think we are all ready for football ?.
I am so ready for football! My wife is already making plans for Saturdays after the season starts so that I can watch the games. I have her trained well.
Bella works at a night club so her shifts typically start around 8 pm so she’s able to be my sidekick looking hot in her Sooner gear all day before work. We don’t really go out during big games anymore because I can’t control my mouth out in public, but the games I feel like we should win we usually head out with some friends lol.

Nobody is! However, OU has certainly had its share of unbelievably good running backs throughout the years
This countdown made me realize how blessed OU has been in the quality of athletes that have played here. Virtually every number has a true “star” in the past. What a legacy.

So very true DB! No one has been better since WWII and no team in Div 1 football has less losing seasons than OU. That just goes to the quality of coaches and athletes that have been through the program.

Growing up, I “watched” most of the games on the radio while I was in a tractor. I remember when we got our first VHS recorder (man that thing was HUGE), and I could record the games and watch them at night before going to bed after working. Wow, technology has come a long ways.

Me, that’s to be expected. You almost alway hear of the D being ahead early on. So much depends upon timing w/ the linemen working together on O. Hoping the D will eventually be that fierce as I’m expecting this offense to be crazy nasty to defend w/ Heisman quality QB and RBs. Thanks!!

People forget, it’s not about who’s the best team in August. That team rarely, if ever, wins the natty. It’s about who survives their schedule and then fields the best team in January. It sounds like the Sooners have the talent to accomplish both of those things.
It’s just annoying, I honestly believe the team that played the week after the RRS last year would of won at the cotton bowl hands down. But now everyone is like oh they will beat every…except Texsa. Just keeps adding fuel.

If you’re into class rankings, I know we are way ahead of Texsa at the moment. But Wilson and Browning are still out there, both with high chances to land at UT. That’s two 5 stars that will automatically move their class WAY up. They would just need to fill in a few 4 stars and the rest with 3s and they easily finish in the top 10. I think we had/have a shot with Wilson, but he seems pretty high on Texsa. I dont think we are actively pursuing Browning. Consensus 5 stars? Probably not, Wilson will be the closest imo. It will still be an elite class if we land our high profile targets, but those rankings really favor the schools who pick up 5 stars recruits.
seems like browning isn’t that into us and i just don’t get the feeling that wilson really has us top 2 YET, could move up. joseph lewis doesn’t seem likely to leave cali, so the Top guys realistically are okudah and hines then correct?
Rogers, Filiaga, Gumbs, Ealy as well, theyre all top guys. I think out of the top left in 2017 those 6 are our main targets.

What about Chaisson?
Joseph Lewis is a consensus 5 star, but the only place I hear talk of him going to us is on this board (take that for what it is worth). Okudah is a consensus 5 star. Those are the only two of which I am aware.
OU has had some great 5 star athletes and some not so great 5 star athletes. Just get the athletes in here and let the coaches do their thing. I think this ’17 class is going to be greater than what it is now.
I ran a class calculator, and added hines, rogers, chaisson, manning and ealy, and even at only 23 commits( we should get 26ish), we have a score of 274.44.
UT can only take around 17-18 because of the baylor transfers, the most comparable current class out there that UT could land is LSU, which has 19 commits and 2 5 stars, and is only at a 262.
Unless we miss on basically every remaining target, even with them landing 2 5 stars, they cant catch us.
I was looking at that the other day too. It baffles me that Hines is not a 5 star recruit based on the criterion that most sites use. Kid is insanely athletic, the consensus* No. 1 ILB, and has 90 offers. That one is a bit of a head scratcher.

Unfortunately, you left off Walker Little. He is a 5-star kid that was a Texas lean last time I checked. Three five star kids would make UT fly up the rankings, no doubt. That said, Charlie is going to get his guys; guy can recruit. I am excited that we are going to get our guys though, and I am even more excited knowing that we are going to coach them up. That is what we do. You bring your best and we bring our best; meet us in Cotton Bowl.

I did want to comment on the Brenda Tracy speech to the team and the comments from them.
This makes me very prOUd to be an OU alum. I really, really, want to win another natty, but I sure want to win it with Sooner-class. Coach Stoops and his coaches represent OU in the best possible way. One quote from Kerry Cooks summed up why I appreciate them.
“We had meetings scheduled and she went about an hour. My guys were looking at me like, ‘Are we going to meetings?’ I said, ‘Listen, this is way more important than meetings. We’re going to sit tight, we’re going to listen and we’re going to pay attention. And we’re going to get the message out.’ That was way more important than anything football-related could ever be. Bigger than the game, bigger than the coaches, bigger than the university. You’re talking about affecting someone’s life for the rest of their life.”
I spoke to someone that was there, and that person said it was intense and you could hear a pin drop. It’s a serious issue, it happens on college campuses more than anywhere else in the US. Im really happy OU reached out to her.

I read about Brenda Tracy ‘s story in the Oregonian, and as powerful as it was, I have to say I lost respect for her at the end of the story. She didn’t press charges, and by not doing so, put other women at future risk of being raped by those very same men. No amount of self-pity and childhood trauma can excuse putting other people’s lives at risk. You were an adult, not a child and have a responsibility. I hope she is as at least addressing this in her speeches.
I won’t judge her because I’ve never been in her shoes, but I do agree that all women should come forward and try and stop these predators.
Certainly. I can relate to some of things she mentions about her childhood, which is why I’m being critical of her using them as an excuse for why she didn’t press charges. I got the sense reading the article that she doesn’t believe those excuses herself, however, and she did acknowledge in the interview she regrets not pressing charges. But that’s a mistake that put others at risk.
Statuette of Limitations I would believe is, for Rape-6 years. Sexual assault 3-years. She should have pressed charges.

Im sure she realizes now what she should have or wished she would have done and im certain she doesn’t need someone correcting her 17 years later.
With all due respect for your right to your opinion – Until/unless you’ve personally experienced her trauma, her violation, her abuse, the violence unleashed on her…frankly you have no earthly true idea how you’d react or act. And to honestly know why she did or didn’t behave in a certain way at that point in her life, you’d have to have her tell you herself.
She is speaking to others about preventing rape, and she failed to do a big part in doing so.
I’ve experienced violation as a kid, which Is something she also talked about in the article. I would do anything to prevent what happened to me from happening to other innocent children. That’s how strongly something like that affects and changes your life.
She had plenty of time, years, to charge those men to make sure they never hurt other innocent women they way they hurt her, and she didn’t. That’s a fact and feelings don’t change that.
If you’re going to go around speaking about preventing rape, I would hope that’s something you’d mention. She made excuses for herself in the article for not doing so, and they were all weak. It’s sounds harsh, but it’s the truth. Life can be awful and unfair, and to make it less so, sometimes some of us go through awful things and take the responsibility of doing whatever we can to make sure it doesn’t happen to others. Anyone immoral enough to rape will hurt people again in the future. In fact, I believe the article said one was later arrested for domestic abuse. Putting oneself at risk is one thing, putting others risk is entirely different. I’m not going to tiptoe around the facts just because it’s a sensitive subject.
And with all that I’d mostly agree, especially since you’ve been through violation yourself, ShelbyP. But it still remains that what we experience at the time, given who we are at that time, holds too many personal variables for others to second-guess what we do, or why. Should she have? I agree, yes. Was it in her personal capacity at that time? Apparently not. Perhaps by discussing it with other survivors, she might realize that her message would be stronger if she’d challenge survivors to be stronger than she was herself. But criticism of something she might have been absolutely unable to do at that time for who she was at the time helps little. But you’re right, it is her responsibility to do it now. Maybe if you and I had been at one of her forums, we could have made the point clear how vital it is to change that part of her message. I think you and I would hope so & would agree on that, of course.
I don’t understand when domestic violence occurs it’s not the victims choice to press charges, yet when a sexual assault occurs it’s the victims choice. I personally feel like if it has been reported and there is credible evidence that they should have to be prosecuted.
