The University of Oklahoma has announced a three-game football series with Temple University starting in 2024. The Owls will travel to Norman for the 2024 game with a return trip in 2028, while the Sooners will travel to Philadelphia for a game in 2025.
The only other non-conference game the Sooners currently have scheduled in any of those years is a home game versus the University of Michigan in 2025. Oklahoma also has non-conference games scheduled as far out as 2030 (@ Nebraska).

Why on earth would we be playing Temple?
Prepping for joining the $EC. Want to make sure they fit in.
Philly Cheesesteaks.
Creampuff….engaged.
By the time this game rolls around, our SEC conference schedule will give us all the strength of schedule we will need?
money, I imagine. Make a ton of money with two home games, but only have to “spend” one away game there. Plus, we get to play in a region where we don’t normally travel. Good exposure at least.
Will Bill Cosby do the coin toss?
Yes heard ART Briles will be there.

You guys do realize Temple was good last year, right? They are a second noncon game, and a much better one than 95% of teams in this country have.

From Yahoo sports. the notion of the Big 12 staying pat at 10 teams for the near future is getting stronger.
According to Oklahoma’s athletic director, the conference isn’t going to be expanding in the immediate future and Joe Castiglione told CBS Sports that the possibility is over “for the time being.”
“There aren’t any signs that we’ll talk anymore about expansion for a little while,” Castiglione also told the site. “We don’t have a timeline on it.”
Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby was a guest on the Des Moines Register’s radio show this week and said it was time that the conference made a decision regarding expansion. Given Oklahoma’s status as a leader of the conference, that decision seems to be towards the status quo.
[Check out Dr. Saturday on Tumblr for entertaining things you won’t see on the blog]
“It’s more likely that there will be some continued discussion,” Bowlsby said on the show regarding the conference’s Board of Directors meeting on July 19. “I have indicated that I think it’s about time we made some decisions one way or the other; whether that’ll be on the 19th is yet to be determined.
Ha ha JoeC speaking on behalf of Big 12 Presidents and ADs. In the meantime, Bowlsby continues to talk about continuing discussions that continuously never end.
Joe does not say much out of school, if ever. I would tend to lean in on his comments vs. a source like Chip Brown
Temple, see you in 10 years!!

So Bowen chooses TCU. Amazing how all but Cobb wanted to go to a winner.
Of all the things I’ve seen in almost fifty years of watching OU football this is definitely one of them.
It is one of them, correct. My question is where does one hang out when there are three threads in the day and none seem to dominate? 🙂
