His strike zone was much approached the rule book strike zone than the previous two who had a wider than normal strike zone but did not call the strike at the top or bottom of the “zone”. Tonight’s ump was much closer to what the actual “zone” should be.

Syd is going to be a great Sooner for certan. But her chances to outshine Sierra are slim to none. Sierra had 302 hits, 305 RBI’s and 302 runs, 82 HR’s for her career. Sydney is going to have to average 84 runs, 76.3 hits, 24 HR’s, 88.3 RBI’s and raise her career BA 90 points for three seasons just to catch Sierra. This year she had 73 hits, scored 50 runs, had 39 RBI’s, hit 10 HR’s while batting .351.
Statistically Sierra is the best player to ever play the game. As a comparison Sierra had 62 more hits, scored 30 more runs, had a 51 point higher batting average and hit 13 fewer HR’s.

Huntsville. I have a son and daughter that live just up the road from the Shoals in Florence.
Florence is beautiful. I loved Alabama to be honest. I am thinking about moving back in a couple years once my daughter graduates HS. Currently the fam and I live in North Iowa.
It’s a great place to live. Cost of living is low, but lots of good jobs in the HSV area. Lot’s of pretty scenery if you get away from the city.

Not sure if Kelsey was given the error, but it it was, it was her first fielding error of the season. Think about that for just a moment. SS and 3rd base is probably the toughest fielding positions on the field.
I think it was just a hit. I didn’t hear or notice a change or update regarding that play though.
How cool would that be for Kelsey. 100% for the season!!! I played third base and felt really good about going 100% in a game!!!

Most likely that 2017 will see Mariah Lopez or Melanie Olmos as the back up starting pitcher. Lopez is the top high school pitcher in the country.

Yeah, she clearly has a deep understanding of how to mold and motivate young women, along with the nuts and bolts of good softball coaching. Being able to switch gears from a senior loaded power team to an all-youngster small ball and defense approach with all the attendant personality and emotional differences in one season is astonishing and remarkable.
One needs not forget that OU was the #2 fielding team (.979) behind Florida in 2014-15 (.981). Patty has always had a focus on good defense as we were third in fielding percentage in 2013-14 (.978) behind Auburn (.979).

Just got home from work, but trust me I had my dad giving me updates the whole time so I knew what was going on! I see we went well over 1,000 comments so kudos to you guys! Auburn said the other night that “we only had one pitcher”, well it looks like one was all we needed! Boomer freaking sooner!!
So the Sooners beat Ole Miss (twice), Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama (twice), LSU and Auburn (twice) of the SEC…some of the best they had to offer…so do we get a share of the SEC Championship too? Just sayin..

After last night, I’m glad I missed it live. My heart was like Paige’s gas tank, only about 50%.
Literally was on the edge of my seat, then standing and bouncing on the balls of my feet. 53 year old dude bouncing and talking to the TV. If I would have had the curtains open, might have had the straight jacket folks showing up. 🙂

Got to admire the coaching and teaching ability of the Auburn coach. Clearly has made a huge difference in the lives of the women on his team. But, good grief they sure had trouble acknowledging the superior performance of the team they lost to. Every team that loses has things that they could have done better, plays they wish they had back, but admitting that the other team rose to the occasion and made the plays shouldn’t be that hard. Heck, it’s on page two of the Coach Speak Handbook–“They made a couple more plays than we did, they made enough plays to win.” Sorry, coach, but that’s far different from “if we had done the little things we would have won.”
Miss “we’ve got Paige’s number” almost didn’t show, but did come in late, and to her credit, said OU deserved to win.

Yes. I think that’s correct, and they aren’t happy about it over on SECRant. Lots of bitterness and salty resentment about OU over there. I suspect it’s not all about their failures at beating OU in just softball. 😉

Did the home plate umpire tonight seem to be much more consistent and overall pretty good tonight? I though it was the best called game behind the plate I had seen in the entire WCWS.

I saw them Monday, but didn’t see them yesterday. Could have been because there were not enough cameras left after they surrounded Gus and Bruce in the CJ (Circle Jerk). CRS starts after 40, at least it did for me, if I remember correctly.
Bob may have been in Tulsa for the Sooner Schooner travel show. I am not sure when it was, but I did see a pic of him and Sherri on stage taking questions.
Bob, along with several other coaches, were in Tulsa last night for the Sooner Caravan.

I have to say after watching the post game how much I appreciate Joe C and his ability to hire not only good coaches but good people. If I had a daughter that played at that level, I would want her to play for Gasso. You can tell she is doing more for those girls than just teaching them softball technique.

5th most successful coach in the OU athletic department.

Man, watching that game at the bar was something else. First they switched soccer on after I requested a tv for our girls then as I’m cheering I’ve got a group of A holes laughing and making fun of me for cheering on our softball team. They quote on quote said ” whys he rooting for softball? Like anyone gives a sh*t” then a girl says “yeah, maybe if it was a real sport like football, but they probably suck in football that’s why he’s rooting for softball”, I about flipped on this table lol. I just turned around and said ” I’m going to cheer loud and proud for my team bc were a school of champions. Sorry UNLV is completely irrelevant in ALL sports, have a good night.”

Exactly, that’s why when I saw one of the guys wearing a Rebels hat I took a shot at UNLV. The guys who were with me at the bar know damn well how much passion and love I have for OUr school and they were just smirking when they heard the table talking crap. They knew dang well I was going to say something lol. Like I said, some people and their nerve. It’s annoying. I guess that’s what I get for living in Vegas. Sooner club of Vegas only meets for the football games or I would have met up with them.
It’s all good though, I’m happy and no one can change that 🙂

Nice job TFB brothers – Just read through AFTER watching my DVR of the game. I watched live last night, but due to commitments I had to watch G1 and G3 on DVR. So, I guess I am not allowed to watch another game live (the apparent jinx that I am). All great in the end.
