– Marvin Wilson: TFB previously reported 2017 star DT Marvin Wilson was expected to visit Oklahoma at some point this summer, and we can reaffirm he is planning to be in Norman this Saturday. Wilson is expected to be joined by a number of other Houston aread prospects, and we should have a list of those players to share with you in the next day or two.
In talking with folks around Wilson, TFB gets the sense the schools currently standing out are Texas, FSU, OU, LSU, & USC (Ole Miss is in there as well but with all the talk of sanctions, we’re just not sure they will eventually stick as a contender). The popular opinion seems to be that Wilson will likely end up at LSU or FSU. But my (K) personal feeling is that if Texas rights the ship this year, they will be the team to beat.
This weekend is a huge opportunity for Oklahoma to impress Wilson and ensure they remain in the mix until the end. – (Super K)
– Kenneth Murray: 2017 OLB Kenneth Murray released his Top 10 last night:
https://twitter.com/murrayyy_2/status/738158347820531712
Murray tells TFB he grew up an OU fan and said there are plans to visit Norman, in addition to other visits, later this summer. In terms of a commitment deadline, Murray says, “I’m hoping (to commit) before the season.” But also noted that a decision could come at anytime between now and then.
With Isaiah Thomas in the fold and Addison Gumbs planning on committing sometime late this month or in the early part of July, it will be interesting to see how the numbers play out should the Sooners land both (in reference to Thomas & Gumbs, as we’re expecting to happen right now). – (Super K)
– JP Urquidez: In case you missed it, the father of 2016 Baylor OT signee JP Urquidez released the following statement concerning his son:
https://twitter.com/julianturquidez/status/738157892818194432
Brandon has informed me that though no direct contact can be made, there is mutual interest between Urquidez and the Sooners. – (Brandon & Super K)

Neboh said he also plans to walk-on to the Sooners football team after his freshman year. He was a standout receiver for the Panthers.

First?
Welcome JP! Come on in and win a championship.
Come one and all to the good guys
Atleast that pinky finger wasn’t up in that pic of Marvin Wilson.
My top 10..in order:OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU.
When are you going to commit?
does signing ny of the baylor players effect the numebrs for this year as far as anyone getting a scolly pulled for 2017
It shouldn’t
Good stuff. Are football camps going on at OU now?
TFB do you have any source that have given you any kind of clue as to what NCAA will do with Baylor players that do not want to attend? Are they going to stay away or will they come in and allow players to be released?
Not the TFB, but from what I’ve read from other media, Baylor will likely release any players who want to be released. It would be horrible for future recruiting to hold players to their NLI; which they could do.
At this point it’s up to Baylor, who, according to several reports I’ve seen, is refusing to release kids from their NLI.
These kids would eventually have the option of appealing to the NCAA, but were still a bit from that being where things stand.
Jordan, do you agree that would be the wrong thing for Baylor to do? It would hurt more than help them??
100%
I wish more of the recruits would release statements like the one from Urquidez. The real issue is the rapes and the deception not the fact they got rid of their coach.
I agree, but there was PLENTY of smoke already when he signed..maybe not about cover ups but actual incidents.
I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in that regard. Just to compare we had the Mixon thing and the SAE thing hanging around us during the same time period. Almost every school is going to have some incidents surrounding their program. When evaluating them you have to decide if those were isolated individuals causing problems or part of the system. They knew about some incidents but now the proof is coming out that it is the system not a couple of players.
Agreed. No perfect programs exist. All I know is how Stoops handled Romar? back in the day. No nonsense, no cover up, gone.
I think you been Bomar. Romar is a DT on the current team. I agree there is a real difference in the way Stoops handles issues. It’s hard for some of these kids since they have twenty or thirty offers. Lot’s to evaluate while going to HS, working on their craft, and being seventeen.
Yeah, Bomar. He was a proven commodity with some Heisman aspirations and Stoops dropped him immediately. Really impressed me at the time. I won’t pass judgement on Mixon, its a totally different situation. But I do believe Stoops cares about the person, not just the player. That I admire.
I would be happy for one of my sons to play or work for Stoops. He has shown over the years the ability to be tough when required and give second chances when needed. He also seems more concerned about doing the right thing for the players than what the PR ramifications of the decision are.
Yep, I questioned bringing Mike back and still do. It just looks fishy, I honestly don’t know if it was the right thing to do or not. BV has done very well for himself and Clemson…and yells less π
BV yells a lot, also, as I recall. OUs defense is looking good.
Agree, but mobile QBs really, really worry me. JT Barnett and Ward are BOTH exactly what concerns me the most about our D. Hope the young backers stuff those holes, it looks like the 3-3-5 is here to stay. At least are line and secondary should be excellent. Jordan Wade, Q, and Gallimore as backups? That’s stout.
Caleb Kelly is special. Kelly has cover skills like CB and hits like the BOZ.
You do remember that OU’s defense wasn’t great under BV?
Where’s the Mixon video? Joking.
It wasn’t just that Bomar broke the rules, when asked about it he lied to Bob. That’s why he got the boot. Mixon never ran from his responsibility. He did what Bob required. He took his punishment, very much like Dusty did. Add Jazz Reynolds and a few others. Each owe Bob for not 1) letting them from the hook and 2) giving them a chance at redemption.
Compare that with Baylor, where FSU was apparently the role model for dealing with criminal behavior by players.
Think that’s from his father
Yes, it is.
I read his story. His dad is grade A material, states he camped out twice and they kept him on hold– I cannot image what other priorities Grobe would have right now. I don’t know if we need a tackle for 2016 but I wouldn’t mind having this guy.
I can’t imagine how you are going to fix things with your recruits if you won’t even talk to them. Baylor seems more and more clueless everyday. Maybe they are just hoping that if they wait long enough most of them will still come because they don’t have any other choice. I doubt that works.
Oh and Kennth Murray looks like a man among boys and looks VERY athletic
You can tell Marvin Wilson has been thinking about OU. He’s already got our hand gesture down pat.
One heck of a note from Urquidez’s father. Way to stand up for yourself.
Also, I know Baylor has got to be very busy right now, but return a call or two. It’s polite.
Morning 76
Morning good sir!
Key to managing any crisis is communications.
You calling a meeting Bob?
Meetings are one of the least effective forms of communication.
Except for usually bringing an OP for a Metz-meeting, I believe they are for “showing” that something is being done rather than doing it.
Well the Metz meetings have value in that they trigger OP’s. Most others not so much. When you have sat in a meeting with a dozen people while two people argue for an hour over whether to use ‘edit’ or ‘modify’ on a program’s menu, you develop a deep distrust of the utility of meetings.
I prefer briefings instead of meetings. Direct and to the point.
Yes, there are times where a briefing can be useful.
Worked for a company that had a ‘meeting room’ at one end of the hall. 10′ square. Door. No chairs. Bar rail table around the wall so you could take notes. Fantastic. Meetings rarely lasted more than 10 minutes and were held when they were really needed.
How many schollys do we have to give for any transferred Baylor players?
I was wondering the same thing – good question
Someone said yesterday that we had five available. That’s probably about right, I know we have had a couple of transfers, etc.
Does anyone know how we dool out scholly’s to preferred walk ons? That could possibly use some up.
I know Stoops’ general rule is that he only gives schollys to walk ons who have actually contributed to the team. That generally means had significant playing time.
Thanks, I have no idea but that sounds right. Baxter got his last year after he contributed. Makes sense.
The numbers situation is going to get very interesting with this recurting class. We are in on so many great players. The change in recurting strategies seems to be working out very well
https://youtu.be/4ly8IOQUhTs Rambo is silky smooth.
That DB agrees!
Open post like crack
May have read it wrong. But is TFB expecting both Gumbs & Murray to commit to OU or were you referring to Thomas(already committed) & Gumbs..?
Thomas & Gumbs, sorry for any confusion.
Thanks! ?
Jordan sorry for the confusion but did I read the TFB expects both Wilson and Rogers to commit to OU, or did I just dream that!! π
Jordan sorry for the confusion but did I read the TFB expects both Wilson and Rogers to commit to OU, or did I just dream that!! π
It’s a good dream!
https://oklahoma.n.rivals.com/news/scoophd-the-final-chapter Tyrese is starting to grow out of the man child body.
excited to get Tyrese and glad to get your input on here T. Rob!
No doubt Matt.
T. Rob, I’m wondering if you or any other posters on here have an opinion on how Gumbs and Baron Browning stack up? To me, Gumbs looks like the better player rushing and defending the run, I haven’t seen enough of either one in coverage to say who’s better there.
I would take both of them π
me too but it seems the good guys only have a shot at Gumbs
We just need to get Browning on campus for the Ohio St game .
Brandon is the more polished one to me. But Gumbs I would say has the more potential to become even greater. Both are top tier no doubt about that. I just think browning is praised more because he’s more polished currently. But Gumbs has the tools to be just as or even better.
gotcha, I’m really excited about the possibility of getting Gumbs. He looks like a more explosive Mark Jackson to me and I’m really pumped about Jackson.
Bingo
Always good to hear from you T Rob! With the camp this weekend and summer 7 on 7 coming up, we should hear some further interesting news.
Your brother is a BEAST. Super humble and well spoken. I cannot wait to see what this cat does when he get’s here. I know Coach B and Shmitty are drooling
Who is the former OU OL working with Tyrese “Brax”?
Yes. Brax trains guys from Trent Williams in NFL to Greg little at ole miss, Darrell Sampson 18′ prospect, guys from TCU team show up to training. Seems to be one of the best o lineman trainers in the dfw area.
Do you know of any other great o line trainers worth taking a look at.
Coach Bedenbaugh π
Lol…Amen
And he gets to work with him for free….
Better yet, he gets an education, food and lodging worth thousands and thousand of dollars. Then he will get PAID once he gets to the league.
No, I was actually asking. I’m trying to think of OU offensive linemen that had Brax in their name. I can’t come up with any and was just curious who it might be.
Brandon Braxton?
Hope all is well. I forget and you’ve probably said, but get him with a good mentor who’s been through the process. All the academic as well as athletic pressure is a lot to deal with. As long as he keeps ‘his head down, grinding’ he’ll be fine. For some of us, though, staying calm enough was a challenge. Wishing the best for your bro!
I have him working with Brandon Braxton. He played with OU about 10 yrs ago and in the league. But I agree on preparing yourself in advance will make the transition so much better.
Sounds like a plan. For me it was just getting over paralysis generated by FOMO and thoughts that I was wasting my time going in ‘this’ direction….only to risk going in no direction. If he’s got a somebody he trusts in his ear just keeping him working hard and steadily, he’ll wake up in 4 years or so with pride in his record and some very tasty options in front of him.
And have had lots of fun in the meantime.
I look forward to seeing him in action in a year or so.
Amen.
And, if it hasn’t been said before, and without really knowing you, it sure seems like he’s got a great bro looking out for him.
Sounds like he’s putting in the necessary work, it’ll pay off big time.
Yes sirrr.
If you don’t mind me asking, what’s he ofc sitting at right now? Height and weight?
6 ‘4″ .1/2 315
That’s great size! Can’t wait to see his growth over the next year.
Sounds like a smart kid, you and your parents did well!!
Is there any interest in Parrish Cobb, or is he now a Texas lean? I could’ve sworn it was down to OU and Baylor towards the end. Would we even have room, or would it mess with our 2017 class at all?
I would assume we would take him since we didn’t land Mayden, but methinks he ends up at Texas.
he wanted to go to Texas, his parents wanted him at OU, Baylor was the compromise. I would bet he’s going to try to go to Texas especially after the bad blood that developed between him and at least one of the OU coaches
Things didn’t end well with him. I doubt OU is in the picture, and I’m fine with that.
Yes. I think another venue would be best for both Cobb and OU. I do wish him well in getting out of the Briles’ cesspool.
We are OK this year without him and he isn’t as good as any of the DBs on SS17. I’d rather secure them, than worry about a guy that had his chance already to come.
http://youtu.be/9yQG6P3axFs Trajan Bandy is like the new PAC man. He chews wide outs up and spits them out.
You heard anything about him possibly flipping from the SS17?
I heard he was just showing his hometown childhood team love. You have to remember everyone from around his neck of the woods would probably like to see him stay local and be a star. But he wants out of the South Florida life. He’s looking for a change. Lots of distractions when you stay local.
Awesome. As always, thanks for the info. I know everybody here loves it.
ThanksT. Rob for the info. I knew Miami recently offered. Sounds like he’s spoken with Ahmad Thomas about getting out of Miami. BTW Thomas has become a very solid player.
Thomas is a reality fact checker for Bandy. He’s from the same area and knows that life. But keeps it real with Trajan and exposes him to a alternative life which Bandy desires. Thomas is best thing that could have happen for the T Bandy recruitment segment.
Just remember Greg Bryant…RIP. So sad; what a waste. Seemed like a good kid.
Who is Greg Bryant?
Greg Bryant RB 4 stars 5’11” 197 Miami, FL – former OU commit ,went to ND and became academically ineligible. Shot and killed in Miami.
Wow…sad case. That’s reality I was speaking of. Some kids want out of that life
The kid has aspirations of winning a National Tittle. He’s a smart kid, he knows he has to go elsewhere then Miami, to win it all.
For a young man’s transition to adulthood, I can think of very few men I would trust more than Bob Stoops to be fair, honest, firm, and above all a role model for what a husband, father, and good citizen should be.
For a young man’s transition to adulthood, I can think of very few men I would trust more than Bob Stoops to be fair, honest, firm, and above all a role model for what a husband, father, and good citizen should be.
One name comes to mind Art Briles.???
Boooooo!
Art would be a superb role model.
Presuming, of course, that becoming an amoral, mendacious, sado-masochistic megalomaniac was the goal.
LOL. Other Big 12/Baylor fans are commenting on ESPN posts that by saying negative things about Baylor we are contributing to the negative perception of the Big 12. I say the Baylor and the Big 12 have done a fine job without us.
Man I hope not. For whatever reason, over the past few months he has become my favorite of the the bunch. I guess probably combo of his play and humble nature is what seals it for me. Seems like a good kid and a guy that would make a great teammate.
He just tweeted this:
https://twitter.com/BandyTrajan/status/738377564788559872
Such a awesome pic.
Isn’t posting like a kid who is reconsidering.
See I told you. When your local team gives you offer you have to show love because that’s where everyone around you probably want to see you go. If you don’t show love, you’ll instantly become talked about. Plus I’m sure he knows a lot of guys on Miami wonder 2017 class. They’re doing pretty good in recruiting. Better than Texas Baylor TCU and TTech. He knows we have Midwest love for him.
Thanks,Hawk
How can it not be ” Another great day to be a SOONER” when you have this kid on the “SS17”. Will be very, very disappointed if we do not land him. Merely basing my opinion on the videos i have seen, but this kid has that fire that makes a team more cohesive shall we say. SWAG can be a very contagious thing.
EDIT: And T-Rob no offense to your little bro, he has it as well.
Mornin,47
Mornin, Metz. I see you been holding it down around here. Ohh I’ve been lurking and watching.
Not sure on holding it down,i am some what of a nuisance im told.
Naw, you are beloved (except for that one incident…and Bob’s liquor cabinet you have been a model citizen).
I will admit wrong doing at Bobs, but i will never admit to the false OP!
I didn’t mention any OP, just an “incident.” Don’t let your guilt give you away π
I will stick to my guns that i used /S on said incident
Okay. We must say; “If he used that “S.” we’ll let him out of the mess.” Is TFB going to release the video of that event? That may be the only way to clear your name.
LMAO!
I remember him using the /S, but it looked more like a hiss or spit, just saying.
Thank you,slim!
Anytime! #TruthDontLie. Ha ha!!!
No wonder why he’s label as a alpha Dog.http://youtu.be/nMSmp1BbcVM
That is a really cool video. Thanks for sharing.

Good job Mr. Robison. With a healthy 2016 season, I believe he will show more than some other QBs that the “rating services” show as “better.”

Magic – A lawyer with troublesome ethics? Oh, tell me it’s not so. /sssssssss
One of the most ludicrous things imaginable. Almost as crazy is if Texsa sucked or the Big 12 was useless
The 12-2 has every bit as much potency as Bevo…uh, well…okay, that is about right.
When can we expect some team news with the incoming freshmen? Aren’t they starting 7on7 soon?
https://twitter.com/CollegeFootball/status/738390254848114689
That’s just downright funny. Not only is Baylor full of scumbags, it’s full of incompetent scumbags
BOOOOO:
https://twitter.com/max_olson/status/738392931946504192
texsa best recruiting may be opening the door for Briles’ refugees. They can then have another “new” coach in 2017.
I’ve been saying this for a little while now, but this is a talented OL group with ZERO leaders at the moment. I hope this is the start of someone stepping up to take that role.

https://twitter.com/JDanley54/status/738211287197351937
I hope the current players see how tight the SS17 guys are without even being together and make that unstoppable bond in the June and July heat.
I hope so too. Sometimes I dont think recruits understand the position coaches are in. They work hard to get a commitment, then they have to keep moving, doesn’t mean they’ve lost interest by any stretch of the imagination. That’s why I’m glad the 17 class is keeping each other pumped about coming in next year.
Great point.
KJ are we still expecting a player to transfer this summer?
There could be one but I haven’t heard anything recently (within the past 2 months) about it.
Let’s get it.
https://twitter.com/T_Brown25/status/738220642030358529
Here’s a thought I haven’t heard yet:
How long until ESPN makes a “Breaking the Bears” 30 for 30??? Taking bets now. Over/under is set at 18 months (to give the story full time to develop and be investigated)
I’m going to say for a 30 for 30 it will depend on the outcome of the complaints, hearings, court proceedings etc. I could see them doing an E:60 story pretty quick though. The title is perfect!
Probably true. Yeah I think it’ll fit!
KJ, you got any news about the football program. You always seem to throw out some good nuggets!
Been pretty quiet obviously with the summer break. Hope to get some good info for everyone once things start up next week.
Well, If you insist I believe we will not complain about more info.
Thanks,KJ
awesome, hopefully its good info too. Hoping to hear guys have stayed on top of their game and are ready to kill it in summer workouts! Also, hoping a lot of the communication breakdowns along the offensive line will be absent this year. Rewatching the Orange Bowl, there were several miscommunications leading to sacks/TFLS.
WOW Baylor recruiting has become a debacle, and rightfully so. They are seriously down to 1 recruit for 17′. Curious where some of their players end up at. But right now I really like the guy’s who committed to the SoonerNation already.
Tell em’ Dusty D!
https://twitter.com/Dusty94_WWLS/status/738394955933093889
We need to leave this conference as soon as possible!
I have left it. I just hope to drag my Alma Mater along with me. I am hoping Mr. Boren is no longer an obstacle.
If he’s an obstacle…cut bait!
I have left it. I just hope to drag my Alma Mater along with me. I am hoping Mr. Boren is no longer an obstacle.
10% for Wilson??
Less at this point imo. Hope I’m 100% wrong.
If he ends up committing to Texas I hope that we can Flip Wilson
(someone had to say it)

A guy eating in a restaurant calls the waiter, “Please taste the soup.
The confused waiter asks, “Is the soup too hot?”
“Just taste the soup…”
“Is the soup too cold?”
“Taste the soup.”
“Is there a fly in the soup?”
“Taste the soup!!”
The waiter, tired of guessing, gives up.
“Alright, alright, I’ll taste the soup. Where’s the spoon?”
“Aha!”

Thats a blessing???
Now that it’s come out that Devin Duvernay’s LOI is not valid, does anyone know if there is some mutual interest between him and OU?
There’s mutual interest between Devin and me wanting him to come to OU

Kyler Murray needs to show him all of his state rings and reel that big fish in. Go with who has the best quarterbacks.
Yuck..thought he liked OU? Maybe he doesn’t like championships?

If you go to Mark Hobbs’ twitter page, there’s a statement from Art Briles on there. I decided not to post it on here. Please do the same.
Just read it…wow, Briles basically says the report was bias and one sided.
Typical
That is because his actions were biased and one sided.
Yeah that’s terrible. Nobody in those head positions can say they didn’t know. They all knew to some extent or another and were all negligent, period.
Totally agree. I want all of them to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I cannot read an Art Briles claim of innocence. I do not have time to shower and wash off all of the scum that will fall on me from so doing. I will leave it to those of you with more fortitude and better access to thorough cleansing.
I’d love to be the one to tell ol’ Arty that if there were ANY way the Baylor admins or regents could spin the findings of the report to corroborate his claims of innocence, he would still be employed. As it were, Arty’s blatant disregard for being a decent human being completely left the higher ups’ hands tied, and forced them to give him the ax.
Captain Obvious says: WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!!WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!! WE WANT MARVIN!!
I’m getting tired of those certain few that are crying about scavenging Bailor’s player’s. Now I’m open minded and willing to learn alway’s, but I feel like this could be trouble. One word contamination, those that work in the environmental or oil field know about the percentage of contamination it takes to change everthing. Just a mind check, what ever Broiles(STD) has touched mentally I want know part of. What’s your thought and explain please. #BOOMERBREAKEM
The guys that would be released haven’t even set foot at Baylor yet.
If OU is interested in any Baylor player’s they just need to do their due diligence (as I am sure they will) and if they pass the smell taste and OU wants them then I am good with it.
They are going to mostly be players that OU has previously offered so I would assume that yes if there is a fit still and room, then we would want them.
#INBOBWETRUST
I have felt it in my soul that Baylor has been cheating in multiple sports to include football ans basketball. My concern is that we might take on a player that Briles & Co. paid. Such a player would be damaged goods and a “contaminant” as you put it. From Urquidez’ letter, it sounds as though he has a quality family who wouldn’t stand for that, so I’d be comfortable with that transfer. As long anyone who wants to come to OU is THOROUGHLY looked into before an offer is made, I’d be satisfied with that

I have some beer in the fridge, some chips and salsa, and my man-cave TV ready to enjoy the “Gasso Gang.”
Chips and salsa sounds amazing. Been a while since I’ve had some.
Dustin, summer with a nice “cold one” and a little heat from some salsa…a staple in my den.
I am definitely going to do it tonight. My schedule doesn’t allow many opportunities to enjoy such things but I think I have a couple free hours tonight.
Good for you! I’ll hoist my bottle to you at the top of the 2nd inning (I may not have any beer left in it beyond that).
Let’s get it on!!
Corona’s and limes on standby….
I put fresh lime in my salsa (along with cilantro). I prefer a nice, hoppy IPA for my beverage, but some lime somewhere is great in the summer.
I like to find a nice dark rum, say a Pusser’s, and then crush about one lime, in quarters, in a short glass. Add some crushed ice and pour about four shots of the rum on top and sip until it needs refilling.
Keeps my scurvy at bay.
And after two or three you start to sound good singing reggae.
ever tried Appleton rum. The 12 yr old is killer
Appleton is delicious. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Myer’s. Always good to drink whatever is local when you’re down south.
Actually, that’s a good motto most places, though Mekhong Whisky is chancy, and Baijiu is strictly out of bounds if you have anything requiring brain cells on the subsequent three day’s agenda. (If you haven’t had the pleasure, Baijiu is a Chinese distillled liquor. And, as good as they are in all other areas of culinary endeavour, the Chinese stopped at the point of ‘Wow, this stuff gets you drunk!’. Baijiu is made from, I believe, millet; it tastes somewhat like kerosene and smells reminescent of day-old vomit. However, in its defense, it runs between 160 and 190 proof, so you really only have a few minutes in which your senses are going to continue to operate upon commencing to drink. Woke up once on a park bench in Beijing next to our cab driver; apparently we’d paid him for the week and he had wanted to go have a drink in appreciation. It had snowed the night before. And the company was paying good money for a nice hotel room. But, my top coat was warm and I have the phone number of a cab driver who’s loyal beyond all measure.)

So if we piss enough B12 schools off do you think they would kick us out?
One can only hope!
Maybe that is Boren’s plan. Keep talking to the media even though they told him to shut up. Then claim we should be kicked out for lack of institutional control.
If he would just go to an Austin wine-and-cheese party with a bunch of whoopee cushions, I think he could get it done.
As much as I wish but we are a Big 12 prisoner. Held captive against our will.
They would never kick out OU.
We would have to do something to so bad it makes Jerry Sandusky look like a saint.
Let’s “expel” OUrselves from this league. Let texsa and its 3 little state minions find some other desperate schools with which to align.
Great idea!
I like it! This is the loophole we need!
Who doesn’t love a good loophole. We could get a fancy lawyer like Ken Starr to plead…oh, maybe someone else…
Of course there’s a eviction clause.
But getting these big12 asshats to agree on anything to progress the conference is the real question.
I believe the SWC would block any such attempt.
That the name? I thought it was the texsa conference – run from Austin, by Austin and for Austin.
Same same. A turd by any other name …
Not sure if its been posted already but Trajan Bandy visiting Miami today…
If Duvernay came to OU he could play with Baker and possibly Kyler Murray. Texas and TCU have nothing close to that level talent at qb.
Agreed. hoping TFB get in touch with him and find out if he’s considering sooners and why/not
It’s funny, bc he didn’t commit to us bc we didn’t offer his brother, I wonder if that is still a big factor for those boys.
Well his brother has to get released from his NLI anyways. He may not.
Buechele is going to be a good one for UT.
Texsa is going to turn their entire program around because of Baylor. They’ll harvest current players and future recruits.
You’re correct sir.
Baylors collapse will fuel that Texsa fire even more
There’s a reason why these kids didn’t pick Texas in the first place. Many Texas kids considered Baylor a superior school to Texas. They still want to go somewhere where they believe they have a good chance of winning. Texas has to produce this year on the field to capitalize off of Baylor for years to come. If not Oklahoma will continue to out recruit them.
For sure T rob. We NEED to capitalize on another great year and while Baylor is dealing with these issues.
It’s still about the W’s.
They still have to produce on the field. If Oklahoma can win the big 12 this year and make another playoff run, our winning will us the super power of the big 12.
I would love to win the conference this year; announce we are leaving; win it in 17 as OUr final year and finish with 11 of the total 22 championships. How great to have the most championships a decade AFTER leaving the horrid thing.
Are we not full at wideouts?Use remaining scholys on Dline please.
Metz. We still have enough Schollys for Wilson, Rogers, Okuduh, browning, Hines, Gumbs π
Sounds good !!!!!!!
? always gotta stay positive ?. Hope your week is going well!
Just need the rain to stop!
You’re in the Lubbock area correct? I’ve seen some reports on the flooding at lake Lubbock or whatever it’s called lol.
Yea got pretty bad yesterday 5 inchs in an hour yesterday some parts of the city.
Is it Buffalo Lake?
Yes Buffalo springs lake is right next to my job.
Couldn’t remember for sure, but used to go there with my Lubbock family when we were kids way back in the day. They lived out on Idalou Road!
Its an ok lake just small.
Lol, seemed big to me back then. Are the main streets in town still named after letters of the alphabet? I thought Avenue Q was a cool name.
Yes as simple as it gets letters north and south numbers east and west.Ave Q is pretty rough i stay away from there at night time,
Little did they know they would be naming it for a future great Sooner
Nice job!
There are a number of great Sooners that escaped from Texas.
Yeah, those Texas/Oklahoma storms are something I certainly don’t miss lol. We’ve actually had a relatively wet year thus far. Kinda annoying. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this, but it seems every time I wash and wax my car we get hit with rain lol. The rain here is nasty as all heck and just destroys my black car lol.
One more spot at wideout.
Think we are still holding a spot for lamb?
It’s reserved for Lamb, Manning, Ausbon, or Lewis.
I hope so. Not bailing on him while he looks and compare other schools will speak volumes to the character of our staff and SS17 class. It’s easier to bail, harder to stand firm and support. Hell be back cause he know we want him still and the love is unconditional.
I noticed your younger bro mentioning he was still recruiting CD the hardest in that scout interview with him. Glad they’re not giving up.
And speaking of the interview, I have to tell you I was incredibly impressed by your brother’s demeanor. He came across as an incredibly mature and respectful young man, and I have to tell you you’ve raised a good one there, regardless of what the future holds for him on the football field.
I am worried about that. Last year, NO DT’s…We have to get two…
Why would Wilson be considering Texsa when they signed 56 defensive lineman last year? I just really don’t understand it, honestly. FSU and LSU are stacked at that position as well. We’ve got to beat the crap out of Houston and tOSU to make a statement early in the year.
That is why it’s a good bet we will land a couple of 5 stars. There’s plenty of room for them to come in and contribute right away. Not many other top tier schools can offer that.
Hope you’re right! So many influences and pressures on young men with football skills. Besides football, the best school is an important life choice.
That’s so true as well. Environment plays a big factor. Some kids can’t see themselves spending 4 years in a laid back country setting that Norman presents. They want the fast pace city life. Where’s kids like t bandy wants the reserve, peaceful, quite Norman setting.
Very true. Way back in the dark ages when I was in college, I went to LA – competed well in the classroom, but hated “competing” in the dang grocery store and on the freeway – just too many people. I made it back to Norman and had a great time.
Norman isn’t even that bad. I live in College Station and when I visit Norman, I don’t feel like its any different. Also, Norman has OKC right next door. College Station has nothing until Houston an hour and a half away. I understand C-Stat isn’t Tally or Baton Rouge but its another college town that was getting a lot of big recruits for a couple years.
If you’ve ever been to Baton Rouge you’ll know it’s not so good.
Yeah I have. I’m not viewing it through the eyes of a high school recruit but as a regular person it has nothing that appeals to me.
well I’ll go with you’re semi inside knowledge on the 5star kids. You think a game like ours against tOSU will make that big of an impact on guys who are high on both schools? I wouldn’t think 1 game would make a difference, but it couldn’t hurt.
The tOSU game is the bigger than another big 12 tittle. That game will show recruits Oklahoma season last year wasn’t a fluke and you have a just as a good chance to win it all here like you do at schools like tOSU and Alabama. Those are the 2 top schools when it comes to the best recruits. We’ve moved to a position like Clemson and LSU with recruits. But one more good year will elevate us to being primary targets for 5 stars from the start before we even begin to recruit. Schools like bama and tOSU have players ready to commit beofre they even get offered. We need to get back to that level and we will.
Yes sir, T Rob. Those early 2000’s classes we had were always top 5 in rivals recruiting. Hense the reason we were playing for a natty almost every year. I’m ready to bust out top 10 classes annually again. Having your brother be a part of the foundation of this class is huge and it’s shown. I follow recruiting on Twitter and everything Tyrese tweets or retweets is always something with a positive nature, I LOVE it. Even if we don’t land any 5 stars, this class will always be one of my favorites because of the brotherhood they’ve already established before even stepping foot on campus as a student.
We have raised him to be a leader on and off the field. He’s a Baker mayfield type personality on the o line.
Team work is what wins Natty’s, not just elite talent. Your right.
no kidding, this is a coach that landed the top runningback and quarterback both out of Texas in one class during his prime. Bomar was a bust obviously but he was a top 10 national recruit. It still blows my mind to think that Stoops landed Adrian Peterson away from Texas. That has to be one of the biggest recruiting victories in history. Then he also stole the top quarterback away from Texas too. Unreal.
UT wont get on board with expansion. They make the most monies in the conf. They have the LHN. They will only be motivated when their monies dry up or they are left out of the playoffs and feel this issue specifically. They are willing to hold OU and the rest of the B12 hostage to keep their own financial advantage.
Whatttttttt????????
UT Fat and happy. See…..
OMG, That hurts the eyes
sad horn
I can get with this type of texsa pic. I believe he has the same expression that Bevo had just AFTER he became a steer.
That’s painful
Man! If you post another pic that ugly, I am going to petition that Metz is fully pardoned and “woof” gets probation.
Dang! Did I mention how UGLY that is?
OK OK OK> I will wait till we are closer to playing them…
Yes,i like that Cush!
FineBUM is all over Art.
As much as Art disgusts me, I’d love to see him walk into a room where Finey was badmouthing him. One look from Art and Finebaum craps his drawers and collapses into a fetal position, whining and sucking his thumb.
Totally
Fine bum has never played a minute of organized sports. He’s a loser, troll, who needs to get off his high horse.
I wonder which is bigger…Briles’ ego or Finebaum’s ears.
As they say Finebaum has the perfect face for radio.
He looks like a caricature that talks a lot.
He looks like that vetriloquist’s manikin.
What would be Ego for $200
i would have gone all in with that response!
that is my all in. I suck at jeopardy.
Thats funny except i only had $50
As much a absolutely hate Finebaum, he’s good at what he does, which is talk trash.
While Finebaum is a know-nothing SEC and Alabama sycophant, it does not take a PHD in botany to recognize pond-scum, and Briles is not quite up to that level of being.
Calling it now, Mayfield to follow up TK’s once and done at TAMU
Nah he’ll end up somewhere else if he decides not to go pro.
Is there a chance they revote next offseason?
or is it done?
Im hearing that it’s not over, but I thought I saw something saying that it’s not on any future agendas.
Probably means off the table for this cycle and will have to wait until the next (after june)… But he would most likely will need to declare for NFL in Jan..
I think he’s already has his draft rights secured by a CFL team, so if he doesn’t get the extra year at OU, and he misses the NFL declaration, he still has another option with pay. Not as glorious, but he seems to be the type that doesn’t mind doing things the hard way, anyway.
Good point.
Someone with a pro style O. Get him well rounded to compete at the next level.
If he really loves the Sooners, I would still expect him to go Pro even if not a high draft pick. My other speculation is IF Riley got a HC job, Baker might go to that school.
They are already reconsidering the rule, with some new language. I’m guessing at some point in the near future, maybe this week, the rule gets passed.
Basically the original school has the opportunity to offer first and if they don’t the player gets to transfer.
Really? Hmmmm. What are they discussing as amendments?
Interesting:
IRVING, Texas — One day after voting down a rule proposal that would’ve made quarterback Baker Mayfield eligible at Oklahoma for the 2017 season, the Big 12 is reconsidering the rule change with different language, several sources confirmed to ESPN.com.
Language that excludes any prior walk-ons, I would guess.
Betcha you’re right. Same 5 that voted no yesterday probably will again if rule isn’t for future, not past, players. We shall see.
Maybe the constant twittering from OU fans and stories from the national media about how ludicrous the Big 12 is being about a student athlete transferring while on his own dime is finally waking up some of the powers that be in the BIG 12. Hopefully they are figuring out all they are doing is making an ass of themselves.
I agree it’s obviously totally reactive. You would think that after the Bailer black-eye, the last thing the B12 wants to do is bring on more negative attention. And reality is, even if Baker was granted the extra year, he may take off to the NFL regardless. But making the change is the right thing to do. Just like firing those morons in Waco.
Preach on brother. The reactivity of these a** clowns makes it even more apparent that they have no clue of how to run a conference or for that matter sustain it much longer.
“In the Big 12, where reaction is better than action. And the student-athletes come first.” They can send my royalties for the 2016-2017 slogan beginning this summer.
I still say they will make this rule right eventually but it’ll be done right after Baker won’t qualify under said rule. God I hope I’m wrong.
You’re right and it’ll be BS.
This new language would apply to all big 12 teams except OU. Boren gets wind of this back of house deal, and begins talks with the B1G and SEC
I may be an idiot (no confirmations, please) but I can’t see how this helps Baker in any way. In fact, I can’t see that it actually does anything.
Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer
IRVING, Texas — One day after voting down a rule proposal that would’ve made quarterback Baker Mayfield eligible at Oklahoma for the 2017 season, the Big 12 is reconsidering the rule change with different language, several sources confirmed to ESPN.com.
The rule-change proposal, which failed to generate the necessary majority to pass after a 5-5 vote Wednesday among the Big 12’s faculty athletic representatives, would’ve allowed walk-ons to transfer within the Big 12 without losing a season of eligibility.
Sources said part of the new language being discussed would allow a walk-on’s school to offer a scholarship to keep him. If the walk-on then still elected to transfer within the conference, the player would face the league’s transfer eligibility restrictions.
This rule has prominently been debated in the context of Mayfield, who transferred from Texas Tech after walking on his freshman year. Mayfield sat out the 2014 season before becoming the starting quarterback for the Sooners in 2015. Mayfield finished fourth in the Heisman voting after throwing for 3,700 yards and 36 touchdowns. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and guided the Sooners to a Big 12 title and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.
We’ll look to see what is reported by noon tomorrow – in particular any comments by Boren.
They supposedly offered a scholarship for the next semister, but a promise of a future scholarship isnt the same as actually offering him one. It might be enough to get around that part of the language.
Am I the only one who thinks baker was gone after this year anyway… Its more about the future and what’s right, paying for your own school then transferring should said player should not lose a year waiting to play cuz of transfer rules..
And though they shouldn’t be favoring any school, the last thing the big 12 wants to do in the next 8 years is piss off ou… Lol how the tables have turned
Yes, that’s why when I see comments out there about, oh if it wasn’t Baker OU wouldn’t care, it annoys me because that’s not the issue.
I hope it is changed because it is unfair to the player, any player at any school.
However, even if they change this and allow BM another year, I still want OU OUt of this poor conference.
Right, the rule change shouldnt be about Baker, it’s so that no other player is ever put in that unfair situation. They need to get this right because it’s the right thing to do.
To the NFL? I don’t really see Baker as an NFL guy, so I think he might have stuck around, depending on a variety of factors.
Agree, I think he stays a Sooner as long as he can.
he has intangibles that the NFL loves and he is a winner.. He may not be a top guy but he will make himself money and be able to pay his parents back for 2 years off scholarship.haha
Landry Jones and countless others are making fine money has back ups, yes. But knowing BM competitive spirit playing another year at OU would trump being a back up. He can be a back up after 2017! Agreed?
Sam will be making pretty good money as a backup, soon.
Doug Flutie wasn’t really seen as an NFL guy either…for a lot of the same reasons Baker isn’t (size, system, etc). He took the long way, but he had a decent career and put some $$$ in his retirement can.
If Chase Daniel can make a NFL roster for multiple years then Mayfield certainly can. Plus Baker doesn’t pick his own boogers on national TV.
I disagree based on the fact that he kept up the fight to get that year back. Being a pro qb is not a sure thing for him. I think he’d stay another year. Of course, the question is if he’d get another year, how would Murray take it? And is it prudent to perhaps take another year with Baker at the potential expense of losing two-three from Murray?
Fat lady coming up..
None of that helps Baker, right?
I don’t see what this does, anyway. Can’t the “losing school” offer a scholly anyway or are they saying the scholly would not count against the limit?
It’s a good question. As I recall, Baker wasn’t offered a scholarship at TTU. After he had left, Klassless Kliff said he was “going to” offer him one.
They may carefully craft it where they don’t look so bad, but still deny Baker the year
If they do, that will be even more obvious it is aimed at OU, thereby making it worse.
Is she going to be singing?
She is warming up.
We need one of your fems posted.

I <3 Alexandra!!!
I hope she belly-flops right on this piss-pot of a conference and squashes the orange blood right out of it.

me likey
I’ll take it as a mini boom.
He has really good vision, some shake and bake as well. Speed like his will keep the d honest vs the reverse etc.
Looks like his brother played CB for TTU.
Cool walk on situation. Good luck to the man in both sports
Neboh looks like a player. How fast is he?
Fast enough to run for 4 years of higher education!
That’s the main thing.
Dude is fast that’s 4sure!
He gone!
He’s so fast he makes fast people look not fast.
2.7 40 but I believe that hasnt been verified.
With his dog on his back.
This is true. He fed his dog beans and put him on his back. Thats why he went so fast.
Or with a dog nipping at his backside..
Hand-timed by his coach?
93 days to go…….still no EasTex

Yessir. My tater tots just don’t taste the same….
Kinda miss those tater pics…
and the comments.
Comments full of wisdom, humor, voice of reason, intolerance for fools. I miss that.
He always liked the kittehs.
Neboh, definitely looks like he has the physical tools though his hudl says he is 5’7″. Most of his routes looks like the track guy route, run as fast as you can and throw the ball as far as you can. He does look like he has enough wiggle though on the pitches that he could be a good route runner with good coaching. He definitely has potential.
I’d say a slot receiver, even though his route running inside needs to tighten up but his speed made up for it. Also he might make a good returner.
He could turnout out to be like a Jakim Grant from Texas Tech. That dude was a stud.
When is this press conference for today scheduled?
TFB is having a press conference? First i heard of it.
LOL I thought Dbo was going to speak today.
Not sure, Probably making sure the wording is just right as to try and get us out of this thing they call the Big 12-2. Damn i can dream cant I?
Put Dexter as a PR SPEED KILLS!
We need some D and OLM to commit. Let’s get em.
Cool! Sooner team wins NASA event.

“Rovie McRoverface.” That’s awesome. Lol
“The rover from Oklahoma smashed all previous records by 50 percent,” Duh, it was training with Schmidty.
Well, nothing like 1960’s Russian design? So servo-motors and smart chips?
“It was based on a Russian lunar rover from the 1960s, but with 21st century technology.”
I’m gonna hack it and send it over to Owen field to run steps. (for Schmitdy)

Nice interview with Justin Broiles.
Schmidty and Neboh are going to need to become good friends.

I worry about a guy called “Boren Bowlsby.” Sounds shady and not likely to impart any information.
Big 12 being late for the party? Say it ain’t so!
If you’re interested in watching the conferences live…

Okay, on the Big12 Network…oh, yeah forgot. LHN probably has it – delayed basis though so as not to interrupt the 1,622nd showing of the 2005 NCG.
I think you may have forgotten a zero in that number.

They did the right thing but good grief this conference is so dysfunctional!!
Please stay that extra year and not go pro!
Naw, Bake – we ALL love ya’ son! Stay as long as you want.
Confirmed by Boren and Bowlsby
A walkon can transfer within the conference without losing a year of eligibilty, as long as the walkon does not have a written scholarship offered by the current U. Baker did not have a written scholarship offered by TT before leaving for OU. Baker will get his year back!!!!!
Doesn’t that make dingleberry a liar? He kept saying Baker had a scholly in hand.
Kliff just being Kliff.
Isn’t Kliff Dingleberry supposed to be the cool coach, Ryan Gosling look-alike that everyone and their dog wants to play for and was going to bring ttu a Nat’l Championship? I guess everyone missed the memo because so far all anyone has seen is a giant dork who lies repeatedly and keeps ttu mired in mediocrity.
Good on you Bake. Now tell the Big 9 – 8 – 7; whatever, to kiss your … best intention.
Bobby Brown….just sounds like a bad-A defensive lineman. π
Looks like one, too!
Or a bad top 40 one-hit wonder singer crack head from the 80s…LOL
I’ll take this kid over that one, we can just call him Leroy. π
Or a 1980’s Bobbie Brown Cherry Pie…
I like this.
