Marvin Wilson: TFB previously reported 2017 star DT Marvin Wilson was expected to visit Oklahoma at some point this summer, and we can reaffirm he is planning to be in Norman this Saturday. Wilson is expected to be joined by a number of other Houston aread prospects, and we should have a list of those players to share with you in the next day or two.

In talking with folks around Wilson, TFB gets the sense the schools currently standing out are Texas, FSU, OU, LSU, & USC (Ole Miss is in there as well but with all the talk of sanctions, we’re just not sure they will eventually stick as a contender). The popular opinion seems to be that Wilson will likely end up at LSU or FSU. But my (K) personal feeling is that if Texas rights the ship this year, they will be the team to beat.

This weekend is a huge opportunity for Oklahoma to impress Wilson and ensure they remain in the mix until the end. – (Super K)

– Kenneth Murray: 2017 OLB Kenneth Murray released his Top 10 last night:

https://twitter.com/murrayyy_2/status/738158347820531712

Murray tells TFB he grew up an OU fan and said there are plans to visit Norman, in addition to other visits, later this summer. In terms of a commitment deadline, Murray says, “I’m hoping (to commit) before the season.” But also noted that a decision could come at anytime between now and then.

With Isaiah Thomas in the fold and Addison Gumbs planning on committing sometime late this month or in the early part of July, it will be interesting to see how the numbers play out should the Sooners land both (in reference to Thomas & Gumbs, as we’re expecting to happen right now). – (Super K)

JP Urquidez: In case you missed it, the father of 2016 Baylor OT signee JP Urquidez released the following statement concerning his son:

https://twitter.com/julianturquidez/status/738157892818194432

Brandon has informed me that though no direct contact can be made, there is mutual interest between Urquidez and the Sooners. – (Brandon & Super K)

– UPDATE (3:14 pm):

As you would expect, this young man has some serious jets.

– UPDATE (4:54 pm): 2018 DT Bobby Brown on his OU visit today.

Atleast that pinky finger wasn’t up in that pic of Marvin Wilson.

My top 10..in order:OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU, OU.

  • Greenlantern Otis says:

does signing ny of the baylor players effect the numebrs for this year as far as anyone getting a scolly pulled for 2017

  • Dick Bump says:

Good stuff. Are football camps going on at OU now?

  • Daryl says:

TFB do you have any source that have given you any kind of clue as to what NCAA will do with Baylor players that do not want to attend? Are they going to stay away or will they come in and allow players to be released?

    • Framoka says:

Not the TFB, but from what I’ve read from other media, Baylor will likely release any players who want to be released. It would be horrible for future recruiting to hold players to their NLI; which they could do.

    • Jordan Esco says:

At this point it’s up to Baylor, who, according to several reports I’ve seen, is refusing to release kids from their NLI.

These kids would eventually have the option of appealing to the NCAA, but were still a bit from that being where things stand.

  • Bob Edwards says:

I wish more of the recruits would release statements like the one from Urquidez. The real issue is the rapes and the deception not the fact they got rid of their coach.

    • Framoka says:

I agree, but there was PLENTY of smoke already when he signed..maybe not about cover ups but actual incidents.

      • Bob Edwards says:

I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in that regard. Just to compare we had the Mixon thing and the SAE thing hanging around us during the same time period. Almost every school is going to have some incidents surrounding their program. When evaluating them you have to decide if those were isolated individuals causing problems or part of the system. They knew about some incidents but now the proof is coming out that it is the system not a couple of players.

        • Framoka says:

Agreed. No perfect programs exist. All I know is how Stoops handled Romar? back in the day. No nonsense, no cover up, gone.

          • Bob Edwards says:

I think you been Bomar. Romar is a DT on the current team. I agree there is a real difference in the way Stoops handles issues. It’s hard for some of these kids since they have twenty or thirty offers. Lot’s to evaluate while going to HS, working on their craft, and being seventeen.

          • Framoka says:

Yeah, Bomar. He was a proven commodity with some Heisman aspirations and Stoops dropped him immediately. Really impressed me at the time. I won’t pass judgement on Mixon, its a totally different situation. But I do believe Stoops cares about the person, not just the player. That I admire.

          • Bob Edwards says:

I would be happy for one of my sons to play or work for Stoops. He has shown over the years the ability to be tough when required and give second chances when needed. He also seems more concerned about doing the right thing for the players than what the PR ramifications of the decision are.

          • Framoka says:

Yep, I questioned bringing Mike back and still do. It just looks fishy, I honestly don’t know if it was the right thing to do or not. BV has done very well for himself and Clemson…and yells less πŸ™‚

          • Dick Bump says:

BV yells a lot, also, as I recall. OUs defense is looking good.

          • Framoka says:

Agree, but mobile QBs really, really worry me. JT Barnett and Ward are BOTH exactly what concerns me the most about our D. Hope the young backers stuff those holes, it looks like the 3-3-5 is here to stay. At least are line and secondary should be excellent. Jordan Wade, Q, and Gallimore as backups? That’s stout.

          • Scott says:

Caleb Kelly is special. Kelly has cover skills like CB and hits like the BOZ.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

You do remember that OU’s defense wasn’t great under BV?

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

            Where’s the Mixon video? Joking.

          • Rene Goupillaud says:

It wasn’t just that Bomar broke the rules, when asked about it he lied to Bob. That’s why he got the boot. Mixon never ran from his responsibility. He did what Bob required. He took his punishment, very much like Dusty did. Add Jazz Reynolds and a few others. Each owe Bob for not 1) letting them from the hook and 2) giving them a chance at redemption.

Compare that with Baylor, where FSU was apparently the role model for dealing with criminal behavior by players.

    • Soonerfandave84 says:

      Think that’s from his father

    • Indy_sooner says:

I read his story. His dad is grade A material, states he camped out twice and they kept him on hold– I cannot image what other priorities Grobe would have right now. I don’t know if we need a tackle for 2016 but I wouldn’t mind having this guy.

      • Bob Edwards says:

I can’t imagine how you are going to fix things with your recruits if you won’t even talk to them. Baylor seems more and more clueless everyday. Maybe they are just hoping that if they wait long enough most of them will still come because they don’t have any other choice. I doubt that works.

  • Daryl says:

Oh and Kennth Murray looks like a man among boys and looks VERY athletic

  • Dick Bump says:

You can tell Marvin Wilson has been thinking about OU. He’s already got our hand gesture down pat.

  • SoonerMagic76 says:

One heck of a note from Urquidez’s father. Way to stand up for yourself.

Also, I know Baylor has got to be very busy right now, but return a call or two. It’s polite.

    • Soonerfandave84 says:

      Morning 76

    • Bob Edwards says:

Key to managing any crisis is communications.

      • metzker says:

        You calling a meeting Bob?

        • Bob Edwards says:

Meetings are one of the least effective forms of communication.

          • cush creekmont says:

Except for usually bringing an OP for a Metz-meeting, I believe they are for “showing” that something is being done rather than doing it.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Well the Metz meetings have value in that they trigger OP’s. Most others not so much. When you have sat in a meeting with a dozen people while two people argue for an hour over whether to use ‘edit’ or ‘modify’ on a program’s menu, you develop a deep distrust of the utility of meetings.

          • SoonerOracle737 says:

I prefer briefings instead of meetings. Direct and to the point.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Yes, there are times where a briefing can be useful.

          • Jed says:

Worked for a company that had a ‘meeting room’ at one end of the hall. 10′ square. Door. No chairs. Bar rail table around the wall so you could take notes. Fantastic. Meetings rarely lasted more than 10 minutes and were held when they were really needed.

  • Birddawg says:

How many schollys do we have to give for any transferred Baylor players?

    • SoonerMagic76 says:

I was wondering the same thing – good question

    • Bob Edwards says:

Someone said yesterday that we had five available. That’s probably about right, I know we have had a couple of transfers, etc.

      • Framoka says:

Does anyone know how we dool out scholly’s to preferred walk ons? That could possibly use some up.

        • Bob Edwards says:

I know Stoops’ general rule is that he only gives schollys to walk ons who have actually contributed to the team. That generally means had significant playing time.

          • Framoka says:

Thanks, I have no idea but that sounds right. Baxter got his last year after he contributed. Makes sense.

      T. Rob, I’m wondering if you or any other posters on here have an opinion on how Gumbs and Baron Browning stack up? To me, Gumbs looks like the better player rushing and defending the run, I haven’t seen enough of either one in coverage to say who’s better there.

      • Scott says:

I would take both of them πŸ™‚

      • T. Rob says:

Brandon is the more polished one to me. But Gumbs I would say has the more potential to become even greater. Both are top tier no doubt about that. I just think browning is praised more because he’s more polished currently. But Gumbs has the tools to be just as or even better.

Hope all is well. I forget and you’ve probably said, but get him with a good mentor who’s been through the process. All the academic as well as athletic pressure is a lot to deal with. As long as he keeps ‘his head down, grinding’ he’ll be fine. For some of us, though, staying calm enough was a challenge. Wishing the best for your bro!

      • T. Rob says:

I have him working with Brandon Braxton. He played with OU about 10 yrs ago and in the league. But I agree on preparing yourself in advance will make the transition so much better.

        • Jed says:

Sounds like a plan. For me it was just getting over paralysis generated by FOMO and thoughts that I was wasting my time going in ‘this’ direction….only to risk going in no direction. If he’s got a somebody he trusts in his ear just keeping him working hard and steadily, he’ll wake up in 4 years or so with pride in his record and some very tasty options in front of him.
And have had lots of fun in the meantime.
I look forward to seeing him in action in a year or so.

  • mizzOUstu702 says:

Is there any interest in Parrish Cobb, or is he now a Texas lean? I could’ve sworn it was down to OU and Baylor towards the end. Would we even have room, or would it mess with our 2017 class at all?

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

I would assume we would take him since we didn’t land Mayden, but methinks he ends up at Texas.

    • Matt says:

he wanted to go to Texas, his parents wanted him at OU, Baylor was the compromise. I would bet he’s going to try to go to Texas especially after the bad blood that developed between him and at least one of the OU coaches

    • SoonerfanTU says:

Things didn’t end well with him. I doubt OU is in the picture, and I’m fine with that.

      • cush creekmont says:

Yes. I think another venue would be best for both Cobb and OU. I do wish him well in getting out of the Briles’ cesspool.

    • Jim Casy says:

We are OK this year without him and he isn’t as good as any of the DBs on SS17. I’d rather secure them, than worry about a guy that had his chance already to come.

  • T. Rob says:

    • Lincoln Hawk says:

You heard anything about him possibly flipping from the SS17?

      • T. Rob says:

I heard he was just showing his hometown childhood team love. You have to remember everyone from around his neck of the woods would probably like to see him stay local and be a star. But he wants out of the South Florida life. He’s looking for a change. Lots of distractions when you stay local.

        • Lincoln Hawk says:

Awesome. As always, thanks for the info. I know everybody here loves it.

          • Framoka says:

ThanksT. Rob for the info. I knew Miami recently offered. Sounds like he’s spoken with Ahmad Thomas about getting out of Miami. BTW Thomas has become a very solid player.

          • T. Rob says:

Thomas is a reality fact checker for Bandy. He’s from the same area and knows that life. But keeps it real with Trajan and exposes him to a alternative life which Bandy desires. Thomas is best thing that could have happen for the T Bandy recruitment segment.

          • Framoka says:

      • Jim Casy says:

Man I hope not. For whatever reason, over the past few months he has become my favorite of the the bunch. I guess probably combo of his play and humble nature is what seals it for me. Seems like a good kid and a guy that would make a great teammate.

Also, hoping a lot of the communication breakdowns along the offensive line will be absent this year. Rewatching the Orange Bowl, there were several miscommunications leading to sacks/TFLS.

  • BigJoeBrown says:

WOW Baylor recruiting has become a debacle, and rightfully so. They are seriously down to 1 recruit for 17′. Curious where some of their players end up at. But right now I really like the guy’s who committed to the SoonerNation already.

  • Dustin says:

If you go to Mark Hobbs’ twitter page, there’s a statement from Art Briles on there. I decided not to post it on here. Please do the same.

    • BigJoeBrown says:

Just read it…wow, Briles basically says the report was bias and one sided.

    • KJ1123 says:

Yeah that’s terrible. Nobody in those head positions can say they didn’t know. They all knew to some extent or another and were all negligent, period.

    • cush creekmont says:

I cannot read an Art Briles claim of innocence. I do not have time to shower and wash off all of the scum that will fall on me from so doing. I will leave it to those of you with more fortitude and better access to thorough cleansing.

    • DrewChubbs says:

I’d love to be the one to tell ol’ Arty that if there were ANY way the Baylor admins or regents could spin the findings of the report to corroborate his claims of innocence, he would still be employed. As it were, Arty’s blatant disregard for being a decent human being completely left the higher ups’ hands tied, and forced them to give him the ax.

If OU is interested in any Baylor player’s they just need to do their due diligence (as I am sure they will) and if they pass the smell taste and OU wants them then I am good with it.

      • Jim Casy says:

They are going to mostly be players that OU has previously offered so I would assume that yes if there is a fit still and room, then we would want them.

    • JB says:

I have felt it in my soul that Baylor has been cheating in multiple sports to include football ans basketball. My concern is that we might take on a player that Briles & Co. paid. Such a player would be damaged goods and a “contaminant” as you put it. From Urquidez’ letter, it sounds as though he has a quality family who wouldn’t stand for that, so I’d be comfortable with that transfer. As long anyone who wants to come to OU is THOROUGHLY looked into before an offer is made, I’d be satisfied with that

Actually, that’s a good motto most places, though Mekhong Whisky is chancy, and Baijiu is strictly out of bounds if you have anything requiring brain cells on the subsequent three day’s agenda. (If you haven’t had the pleasure, Baijiu is a Chinese distillled liquor. And, as good as they are in all other areas of culinary endeavour, the Chinese stopped at the point of ‘Wow, this stuff gets you drunk!’. Baijiu is made from, I believe, millet; it tastes somewhat like kerosene and smells reminescent of day-old vomit. However, in its defense, it runs between 160 and 190 proof, so you really only have a few minutes in which your senses are going to continue to operate upon commencing to drink. Woke up once on a park bench in Beijing next to our cab driver; apparently we’d paid him for the week and he had wanted to go have a drink in appreciation. It had snowed the night before. And the company was paying good money for a nice hotel room. But, my top coat was warm and I have the phone number of a cab driver who’s loyal beyond all measure.)

There’s a reason why these kids didn’t pick Texas in the first place. Many Texas kids considered Baylor a superior school to Texas. They still want to go somewhere where they believe they have a good chance of winning. Texas has to produce this year on the field to capitalize off of Baylor for years to come. If not Oklahoma will continue to out recruit them.

    • T. Rob says:

They still have to produce on the field. If Oklahoma can win the big 12 this year and make another playoff run, our winning will us the super power of the big 12.

I noticed your younger bro mentioning he was still recruiting CD the hardest in that scout interview with him. Glad they’re not giving up.

And speaking of the interview, I have to tell you I was incredibly impressed by your brother’s demeanor. He came across as an incredibly mature and respectful young man, and I have to tell you you’ve raised a good one there, regardless of what the future holds for him on the football field.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I am worried about that. Last year, NO DT’s…We have to get two…

  • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Why would Wilson be considering Texsa when they signed 56 defensive lineman last year? I just really don’t understand it, honestly. FSU and LSU are stacked at that position as well. We’ve got to beat the crap out of Houston and tOSU to make a statement early in the year.

    • T. Rob says:

That is why it’s a good bet we will land a couple of 5 stars. There’s plenty of room for them to come in and contribute right away. Not many other top tier schools can offer that.

      • cush creekmont says:

Hope you’re right! So many influences and pressures on young men with football skills. Besides football, the best school is an important life choice.

        • T. Rob says:

That’s so true as well. Environment plays a big factor. Some kids can’t see themselves spending 4 years in a laid back country setting that Norman presents. They want the fast pace city life. Where’s kids like t bandy wants the reserve, peaceful, quite Norman setting.

          • cush creekmont says:

Very true. Way back in the dark ages when I was in college, I went to LA – competed well in the classroom, but hated “competing” in the dang grocery store and on the freeway – just too many people. I made it back to Norman and had a great time.

          • Matt says:

Norman isn’t even that bad. I live in College Station and when I visit Norman, I don’t feel like its any different. Also, Norman has OKC right next door. College Station has nothing until Houston an hour and a half away. I understand C-Stat isn’t Tally or Baton Rouge but its another college town that was getting a lot of big recruits for a couple years.

          • Dick Bump says:

If you’ve ever been to Baton Rouge you’ll know it’s not so good.

          • Matt says:

Yeah I have. I’m not viewing it through the eyes of a high school recruit but as a regular person it has nothing that appeals to me.

      • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

well I’ll go with you’re semi inside knowledge on the 5star kids. You think a game like ours against tOSU will make that big of an impact on guys who are high on both schools? I wouldn’t think 1 game would make a difference, but it couldn’t hurt.

        • T. Rob says:

The tOSU game is the bigger than another big 12 tittle. That game will show recruits Oklahoma season last year wasn’t a fluke and you have a just as a good chance to win it all here like you do at schools like tOSU and Alabama. Those are the 2 top schools when it comes to the best recruits. We’ve moved to a position like Clemson and LSU with recruits. But one more good year will elevate us to being primary targets for 5 stars from the start before we even begin to recruit. Schools like bama and tOSU have players ready to commit beofre they even get offered. We need to get back to that level and we will.

          • Vegas_Sooner21 says:

Yes sir, T Rob. Those early 2000’s classes we had were always top 5 in rivals recruiting. Hense the reason we were playing for a natty almost every year. I’m ready to bust out top 10 classes annually again. Having your brother be a part of the foundation of this class is huge and it’s shown. I follow recruiting on Twitter and everything Tyrese tweets or retweets is always something with a positive nature, I LOVE it. Even if we don’t land any 5 stars, this class will always be one of my favorites because of the brotherhood they’ve already established before even stepping foot on campus as a student.

          • T. Rob says:

We have raised him to be a leader on and off the field. He’s a Baker mayfield type personality on the o line.

          • T. Rob says:

Team work is what wins Natty’s, not just elite talent. Your right.

          • Matt says:

no kidding, this is a coach that landed the top runningback and quarterback both out of Texas in one class during his prime. Bomar was a bust obviously but he was a top 10 national recruit. It still blows my mind to think that Stoops landed Adrian Peterson away from Texas. That has to be one of the biggest recruiting victories in history. Then he also stole the top quarterback away from Texas too. Unreal.

  • ouwooferman says:

UT wont get on board with expansion. They make the most monies in the conf. They have the LHN. They will only be motivated when their monies dry up or they are left out of the playoffs and feel this issue specifically. • DrewChubbs says:

I think he’s already has his draft rights secured by a CFL team, so if he doesn’t get the extra year at OU, and he misses the NFL declaration, he still has another option with pay. Not as glorious, but he seems to be the type that doesn’t mind doing things the hard way, anyway.

They are already reconsidering the rule, with some new language. I’m guessing at some point in the near future, maybe this week, the rule gets passed.

    • Lane Gilstrap says:

Basically the original school has the opportunity to offer first and if they don’t the player gets to transfer.

    • cush creekmont says:

Really? Hmmmm. What are they discussing as amendments?

  • KJ1123 says:

    Interesting:

IRVING, Texas — One day after voting down a rule proposal that would’ve made quarterback Baker Mayfield eligible at Oklahoma for the 2017 season, the Big 12 is reconsidering the rule change with different language, several sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

    • SoonerinLondon says:

Language that excludes any prior walk-ons, I would guess.

      • Slim Sooner says:

Betcha you’re right. Same 5 that voted no yesterday probably will again if rule isn’t for future, not past, players. We shall see.

    • Tony B says:

Maybe the constant twittering from OU fans and stories from the national media about how ludicrous the Big 12 is being about a student athlete transferring while on his own dime is finally waking up some of the powers that be in the BIG 12. Hopefully they are figuring out all they are doing is making an ass of themselves.

      • KJ1123 says:

I agree it’s obviously totally reactive. You would think that after the Bailer black-eye, the last thing the B12 wants to do is bring on more negative attention. And reality is, even if Baker was granted the extra year, he may take off to the NFL regardless. But making the change is the right thing to do. Just like firing those morons in Waco.

        • Tony B says:

Preach on brother. The reactivity of these a** clowns makes it even more apparent that they have no clue of how to run a conference or for that matter sustain it much longer.

        • DrewChubbs says:

“In the Big 12, where reaction is better than action. And the student-athletes come first.” They can send my royalties for the 2016-2017 slogan beginning this summer.

    • Tony B says:

I still say they will make this rule right eventually but it’ll be done right after Baker won’t qualify under said rule. God I hope I’m wrong.

    • ouwooferman says:

This new language would apply to all big 12 teams except OU. Boren gets wind of this back of house deal, and begins talks with the B1G and SEC

    • SoonerinLondon says:

I may be an idiot (no confirmations, please) but I can’t see how this helps Baker in any way. In fact, I can’t see that it actually does anything.

      Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

IRVING, Texas — One day after voting down a rule proposal that would’ve made quarterback Baker Mayfield eligible at Oklahoma for the 2017 season, the Big 12 is reconsidering the rule change with different language, several sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

The rule-change proposal, which failed to generate the necessary majority to pass after a 5-5 vote Wednesday among the Big 12’s faculty athletic representatives, would’ve allowed walk-ons to transfer within the Big 12 without losing a season of eligibility.

Sources said part of the new language being discussed would allow a walk-on’s school to offer a scholarship to keep him. If the walk-on then still elected to transfer within the conference, the player would face the league’s transfer eligibility restrictions.

This rule has prominently been debated in the context of Mayfield, who transferred from Texas Tech after walking on his freshman year. Mayfield sat out the 2014 season before becoming the starting quarterback for the Sooners in 2015. Mayfield finished fourth in the Heisman voting after throwing for 3,700 yards and 36 touchdowns. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and guided the Sooners to a Big 12 title and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.

      • cush creekmont says:

We’ll look to see what is reported by noon tomorrow – in particular any comments by Boren.

      • j l says:

They supposedly offered a scholarship for the next semister, but a promise of a future scholarship isnt the same as actually offering him one. It might be enough to get around that part of the language.

  • ALar03 says:

Am I the only one who thinks baker was gone after this year anyway… Its more about the future and what’s right, paying for your own school then transferring should said player should not lose a year waiting to play cuz of transfer rules..

    • ALar03 says:

And though they shouldn’t be favoring any school, the last thing the big 12 wants to do in the next 8 years is piss off ou… Lol how the tables have turned

    • KJ1123 says:

Yes, that’s why when I see comments out there about, oh if it wasn’t Baker OU wouldn’t care, it annoys me because that’s not the issue.

      • cush creekmont says:

I hope it is changed because it is unfair to the player, any player at any school.

However, even if they change this and allow BM another year, I still want OU OUt of this poor conference.

      • Slim Sooner says:

Right, the rule change shouldnt be about Baker, it’s so that no other player is ever put in that unfair situation. They need to get this right because it’s the right thing to do.

    • SoonerfanTU says:

To the NFL? I don’t really see Baker as an NFL guy, so I think he might have stuck around, depending on a variety of factors.

      • Slim Sooner says:

Agree, I think he stays a Sooner as long as he can.

      • ALar03 says:

he has intangibles that the NFL loves and he is a winner.. He may not be a top guy but he will make himself money and be able to pay his parents back for 2 years off scholarship.haha

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Landry Jones and countless others are making fine money has back ups, yes. But knowing BM competitive spirit playing another year at OU would trump being a back up. He can be a back up after 2017! Agreed?

      • DrewChubbs says:

Doug Flutie wasn’t really seen as an NFL guy either…for a lot of the same reasons Baker isn’t (size, system, etc). He took the long way, but he had a decent career and put some $$$ in his retirement can.

      • Rob says:

If Chase Daniel can make a NFL roster for multiple years then Mayfield certainly can. Plus Baker doesn’t pick his own boogers on national TV.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I disagree based on the fact that he kept up the fight to get that year back. Being a pro qb is not a sure thing for him. I think he’d stay another year. Of course, the question is if he’d get another year, how would Murray take it? And is it prudent to perhaps take another year with Baker at the potential expense of losing two-three from Murray?

  • Dick Bump says:

    Fat lady coming up..

    • SoonerinLondon says:

None of that helps Baker, right?

I don’t see what this does, anyway. Can’t the “losing school” offer a scholly anyway or are they saying the scholly would not count against the limit?

      • Dick Bump says:

It’s a good question. As I recall, Baker wasn’t offered a scholarship at TTU. After he had left, Klassless Kliff said he was “going to” offer him one.

        • jimintexas says:

They may carefully craft it where they don’t look so bad, but still deny Baker the year

          • Dick Bump says:

If they do, that will be even more obvious it is aimed at OU, thereby making it worse.

    • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Is she going to be singing?

    • cush creekmont says:

I hope she belly-flops right on this piss-pot of a conference and squashes the orange blood right out of it.

Cool walk on situation. Good luck to the man in both sports

  • Dick Bump says:

Neboh looks like a player. How fast is he?

  • KJ1123 says:

93 days to go…….still no EasTex

  • Bob Edwards says:

Neboh, definitely looks like he has the physical tools though his hudl says he is 5’7″. Most of his routes looks like the track guy route, run as fast as you can and throw the ball as far as you can. He does look like he has enough wiggle though on the pitches that he could be a good route runner with good coaching. He definitely has potential.

    • Tony B says:

I’d say a slot receiver, even though his route running inside needs to tighten up but his speed made up for it. Also he might make a good returner.

    • Scott says:

He could turnout out to be like a Jakim Grant from Texas Tech. That dude was a stud.

  • Stephen says:

When is this press conference for today scheduled?

    • 47 Straight OU Know says:

TFB is having a press conference? First i heard of it.

      • Stephen says:

LOL I thought Dbo was going to speak today.

        • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Not sure, Probably making sure the wording is just right as to try and get us out of this thing they call the Big 12-2. Damn i can dream cant I?

  • Jeff says:

Put Dexter as a PR SPEED KILLS!

  • D Hunter Sanchez says:

We need some D and OLM to commit. Let’s get em.

    • Shelby is a Patriot says:

      “Rovie McRoverface.” That’s awesome. Lol

    • KJ1123 says:

“The rover from Oklahoma smashed all previous records by 50 percent,” Duh, it was training with Schmidty.

      • cush creekmont says:

Well, nothing like 1960’s Russian design? So servo-motors and smart chips?
“It was based on a Russian lunar rover from the 1960s, but with 21st century technology.”

        • Oscar says:

I’m gonna hack it and send it over to Owen field to run steps. (for Schmitdy)

  • Stephen says:

Schmidty and Neboh are going to need to become good friends.

  • Jordan Esco says:

Okay, on the Big12 Network…oh, yeah forgot. LHN probably has it – delayed basis though so as not to interrupt the 1,622nd showing of the 2005 NCG.

  • BleedCrimson says:

Is anyone seeing the Gamethread Jordan is speaking of???

  • bommer85 says:

    Mayfield eligible in 2017

  • Stephen says:

    Mayfield 2017

    • ⚑️Electric Sooner⚑️ says:

They did the right thing but good grief this conference is so dysfunctional!!

    • blaster1371 says:

Please stay that extra year and not go pro!

    • cush creekmont says:

Naw, Bake – we ALL love ya’ son! Stay as long as you want.

  • BleedCrimson says:

    Confirmed by Boren and Bowlsby
A walkon can transfer within the conference without losing a year of eligibilty, as long as the walkon does not have a written scholarship offered by the current U. Baker did not have a written scholarship offered by TT before leaving for OU. Baker will get his year back!!!!!

    • blaster1371 says:

Doesn’t that make dingleberry a liar? He kept saying Baker had a scholly in hand.

      • BleedCrimson says:

        Kliff just being Kliff.

        • JB says:

Isn’t Kliff Dingleberry supposed to be the cool coach, Ryan Gosling look-alike that everyone and their dog wants to play for and was going to bring ttu a Nat’l Championship? I guess everyone missed the memo because so far all anyone has seen is a giant dork who lies repeatedly and keeps ttu mired in mediocrity.

  • Dana Rogers says:

Good on you Bake. Now tell the Big 9 – 8 – 7; whatever, to kiss your … best intention.

  • Sooner Ray says:

    Bobby Brown….just sounds like a bad-A defensive lineman. πŸ™‚
