Found this interesting on College Football Talk with OUs depth at QB. I don’t know anything about the kid other than hes been at ECU and is a grad transfer with immediate elgibility.

I find it hard to believe that a guy who couldn’t start at ECU is much better than the two walk ons we have. As a general rule, if you are down to your 3rd string QB for much of the season, you pretty much write it off anyway.
Transfers who don’t start at their previous school usually shouldn’t be relied on, especially if they are moving up the competition level latter.
Agreed with ECU level of competition. Find the Lincoln Riley connection interesting though. Doubt he would transfer to OU to not start.

IF he transferred to OU (and I don’t see anything indicating he’s considering OU as a destination) he could be looking at the situation with life after football as a bigger consideration than actual playing time. Maybe he’d like to learn more from Riley with an eye on coaching once his eligibility is up.

If the government wants to look at the NCAA they ought to start by looking at how they treat “student athletes” like employees without benefits.
They need to worry about benefits for the military first, instead of kids that are receiving a free education in my opinion
It is a standard practice to pay employees. For what they make off of student athletes they are cheap labor that makes a lot of money for its employers. What is not a standard practice is to have employees that work long hours in a job that has long term effects on their health and not provide some sort of benefits. The military issue is not related, but sure we should take care of our soldiers. The benefits even come out of different pockets, the NCAA vs. the government. Nice idea, but irrelevant in this conversation, its just often an easy rallying cry for the uninformed. How dare I consider students with soldiers out there… The college education won’t count for much if you end up with CTE. Additionally due to the hard practice hours athletes often end up with an easy major that doesn’t lead to a career. This is a complex issue that I suggest you actually research.
That would take about 1/2 the student athletes out of getting a paid for education/free tutors/meals, etc. only the biggest of the schools can afford that. If that is what you really want, then OK. They are student athletes now. They will be semi-pro then. Research will tell you that you can’t just do that for Football. You will do it for all athletes. I will say that pulling numbers out of your ass is not a good way to support an argument, and I think that the NCAA is the one that needs to foot the bill. McGregor is ambitious, but he’ll never be as successful as Floyd in promoting and calling his own shots. Floyd made an insane amount of money right after he split from Arum and he was the biggest draw. The showtime contract was huge and not to mention Floyd kept winning. McGregor needs to just keep fighting in the UFC for a little while longer.
I find it pretty funny he asked for 10 million in disclosed pay, and dana shut his ass down.
He made 1 million in disclosed pay last fight…and lost, then asks for 10x more.
Seriously, and it wasn’t just because of McGregor, people aren’t just gonna keep paying to watch you possibly win. People were eventually paying to watch Floyd lose. Not to mention there’s a couple of other really good weight classes that I’d rather watch. Not gonna command that type of money in the UFC. Bones probably could of gotten close before all the suspensions.

Dont get me wrong, id pay to watch conor-diaz again, but its not a relevant fight. Would much rather see bones-cormier, rockhold-weidman, or lawler vs condit/thompson.
I would like to see Shep go to a good team with a chance. Of the playoff or near playoff teams, Vikings, Chiefs, Broncos, Bengals, Packers, Cowboys, Ravens, Texans could use him. A load of awful teams could too (Cowboys with Romo and Bryant back have a shot).
