The good news just continues to pour in this weekend as the Sooners pick up their third commitment in less than 48 hours. 2016 WR Zach Farrar announced he had flipped his commitment from Mississippi State via Twitter.

Farrar is another big-bodied wide receiver who could come in and compete for immediate playing time with several of OU’s other young, inexperienced wideouts.

What is our fill number?
TFB can answer that a lot better and I would imagine we will see something in the next couple days leading up to signing day, but it can’t be more than 20-22 or so. I am not too sure with the guys that have left (Knight, Alexander, Sanchez, Green, etc) and those coming in via transfer (Murray and the Penn State WR). I hope it’s more than I think, as we are at like 17 or 18 now with Farrar committing.
Needed a quality WR in this class. Now if we can just get Jones.

Yep. I’ve seen him swat guys down with one hand after the catch. Plays with power for sure.
He almost has the physique of a track sprinter. IMO. I like what I see.
I love how he goes after the ball and uses his hands. Need a good outside receiver to stretch the field and get the jump balls.
I would like to take this time to toot my own horn… haha I saw him play vs Union this year and I got on here and said how dominant he looked and that i thought it was a kid ou should definitely look into, low and behold 4 months later he commits to the good guys! So excited to see him grow in our program and Show the rest of college football that OUDNA he has the next few years! Boom!!!

Hopefully this “big bodied” WR works out. We haven’t gotten much out of big WR’s here under Stoops, as only Kelly was listed at 6’2 or bigger that stood out. Still hoping we can land Jones or the kid that was committed to Bama as a potential smaller WR that IMO, fits our needs better. Not saying I’m not excited for Farrar though. Seems like solid talent.
Is Farrar more than a possession type receiver ? Reminds me of Jordan Smallwood or Dallis Todd.

Watching his tape makes me wonder about the 3 star rating? Kid high points the ball like a beast and makes a ton of “competitive catches.” Looks to already have a man’s physique and I could definitely see him earning some early reps. This is a great add! BOOMER

He just says he’s not signing with anyone. Personal reasons, said a statement would be forth coming, everything else is pure speculation. It could be anything. It is not a decommittment.
Hopefully he is not under going health problems, that would just be terrible for such a great young man.

Seems to me Coach Riley takes these big guys like this and makes them into national stars. He did it a couple of times at ECU. We have several of these big guys. I would like history to repeat itself here.

Anyone else find it interesting that with Farrar’s commitment tonight that brings OU’s commitments from Texas players to a whopping 3. And Parrish Cobb might end up at Baylor. Not complaining, just making an interesting observation.
For what its worth, I think Cobb sticks with the good guys. He is a Sooner!!!!
If his parents read the big writeup in ESPN this morning, they might close the door on his Baylor thoughts for him.
What are the odds Baylor will explain it away to their recruits until after signing day? Then later, they are sanctioned against bowl games.
I don’t know if the NCAA will be involved, but it really doesn’t look good for the university or Brile’s administration. I really don’t know if he can survive a thing like this at a private church school where the donors are supposed to be people of high morals.

I had prostate cancer 2 years ago, my Urologist and his partner in the practice are both Baylor Med School grads, neither are very happy with the situation. Both are big donors.

In regards to your post, it could be an anomaly. Our 2017 class which looks pretty stout so far is made up of mostly Texas players. I hope it is anyway, because Texas players have always been the lifeblood of our program.

Is it true that Coach Sumlin wants to coach in the NFL? If it is true, and with Coach Strong and his UT program trending down, its hard to see why there is a battle, unless geography is the deciding factor.
