– Team Note | Jordan Smallwood – Most of you know by now that OU wide receiver Jordan Smallwood is back. I was told he was practicing full go this week. One source mentioned he is, as expected given his size, more physical than a lot of the OU receivers. Hopefully, he can stay injury free and finally put everything together on the field. – (Super K)
– Blake Williams: 2016 TE/H-back Blake Williams (Mustang, OK) is a 6’4″ 225-pound freak of an athlete. As most of you know, Williams had to overcome a physical ailment that resulted in him missing the last two years of football but is now healthy again. Williams earned his first division one offer this past summer from the University North Carolina, based on the athleticism he displayed during a camp he took part in at Chapel Hill. Williams is also being heavily recruited by Alabama as well.
And now it appears as though the Sooners have become very serious about him (and for good reason). We are told that none other than Bob Stoops himself spoke with Williams this week. And Cale Gundy has also been in regular contact with Williams for the past few weeks. Williams mother tells us coach Stoops said, “when Blake’s medical info all checks out…then in a week or so he (Stoops) would like to offer Blake.” She also said coach Stoops asked that her attend OU’s next home game.
In our estimation this would be an excellent in-state offer for the Sooners. Not only would OU be putting their hat in the ring for a high quality athlete with size, but they’d also be getting a high quality and hard working young man. – (Super K)
– Marcel Southall: 2016 DT Marcel Southall (Duncanville, TX) made it to the OU/Texas game last weekend and although things clearly didn’t go OU’s way, it hasn’t made the Southalls any less interested in the Sooners. I chatted with Southall’s father yesterday, who let me know they have scheduled their official visit for the TCU game on November 21st. – (Super K)
– Daelin Hayes: Speaking of that TCU weekend, it was just a couple days ago friend of TFB Demetric Warren broke the news of 2016 LB Daelin Hayes also planned to be in Norman for an official visit. However, less than 48 hours later there has already been a change in plans.
https://twitter.com/DaelinHayes_24/status/654799128946327552
We are still working to determine if Hayes has any plans to try and still get out to Oklahoma, but as of now it would appear what we do know is that it won’t be for the TCU game.
– Brey Walker: 2018 Southmoore offensive tackle was in attendance for the Sooners tough loss versus the Longhorns this past weekend. Despite that, the Walkers tell me they had stayed quiet for most of the game, but when OU was making their comeback in the second half they said, “Forget it. We are Oklahomans at heart, so we had to do the right thing and started to cheer for OU, right in the middle of the Texas recruits section.”
That ought to make you OU fans feel good, as Walker is one of the most sought after offensive lineman in the country, regardless of class. Walker will be back in Norman next week on an unofficial visit when the Sooners take on Texas Tech. Which is another good sign considering Walker has already visited OU earlier this season. – (Brandon)
– Matthew Gutwald: 2016 OL Mathew Gutwald lives in Dublin, California but spent much of his childhood in Oklahoma. Gutwald tells TFB that he and Bill Bedenbaugh communicate almost everyday now. And while Gutwald has yet to receive an OU offer, he says coach Bedenbaugh and the staff recently reviewed his film and told him they came away impressed. – (Super K)
– Anthony Hines: Last week I checked in with the father of star 2017 LB, Anthony Hines (Plano, TX). Mr Hines said his son is having a great season, so far, and isn’t really focused on the recruiting aspect of things at the moment. He did mention, however, that his son will be in College Station this weekend for the TAMU/Alabama game.
Mr. Hines went on to say his son speak with the OU coaching staff nearly everyday, and that the family plans on making it to an OU game later this season. Hines is no stranger to Norman as he has visited OU on several occasions over the last year. Mr. Hines said the Sooners are up there on their list and in really good standing with his son. – (Brandon)
– Jaelan Phillips: OU recently offered 2017 OLB Jaelan Phillips (Redlands, CA), who I had the chance to speak to recently and leaned he and Tim Kish have been in regular contact. From what I could gather Phillips seems to really like coach Kish saying, “he’s a really genuine guy…I still have a lot to learn about the program but what I see on the surface…what I know so far I like.” Phillips couldn’t say whether he will be able to make it on an unofficial visit but did say, “as of now Oklahoma would one of my top schools to take an official visit to once that time comes.” – (Brandon)
– Darrell Simpson: Coach Bill Bedenbaugh continues to be aggressive on the recruiting trail with another 2018 offensive lineman offer in Darrell Simpson (Justin, TX). In fact, Bedenbaugh recently stopped by Justin, TX to see Simpson in action. I saw Simpson at an OU camp this past summer and came away rather impressed. Simpson is a very athletic, strong, and physical blocker. I spoke with Simpson a bit this week, who said that he set up an unofficial to OU for October 24th when the Sooners will face Texas Tech. – (Brandon)

BOOMER
Sooner!!!!
“but they’d also be getting a high quality and hard working young man. – (Super K)”
Does this mean he would probably commit if/when we offered or am I reading too much into this?
I was wondering the same thing
By the sound of things, I would tend to think so. Bob reaching out to his momma and discussing the scholly is positive sign.
I’m a Mustang boy so I’m biased, but I really want this to happen. and especially after watching South Moore last night, I hope Stoops and co. can repair the damage, if there was any, with the Thompson household because that dude can play.
Can Blake Williams play DE?
Geoff McArthur, a former All American at Cal, said he thinks Williams can play either side of the ball. If you didn’t read that open post back in September, it was almost all gushing about Williams (and rightfully so). Here’s the link:
https://thefootballbrainiacs.com/ou-oklahoma-sooners-football-dru-samia-pj-mbanasor-recruiting-blake-williams
Props to you for digging that out of the archive.
I just searched Blake Williams in the search bar, there wasn’t much digging required.
I didn’t know there was a search bar. -_-
I just hope he is good enough at TE he can get a few passes thrown his way should he come to OU…
Marcel looks the part
Kinda like that he’s switched to Oregon, since Caleb Kelly was just there recently and hopefully told them sorry still riding the Schooner
K, any chance that Brey Walker is rated higher than Gerald McCoy(OKs highest ever rated recruit)
FWIW, 247 Sports has him at number 8 Nationally and GK was rated number 14. A lot can change between now and then though (but GK will always be number 1 in my heart).
Too far back, but they would not have had enough stars for Lee Roy Selman.
Before my time, but I love his videos. RIP Lee Roy
By too far back, I meant for “stars.” I met all three and their folks – back in the day. Nice guys, nice family and great Sooners.
Absolutely!
Yeah, and his brothers weren’t too bad either. Lee Roy was like a cat.
A really REALLY big cat.
Cool story about Lee Roy. My dad was attending a coaching meeting and Switzer broke into this story. Said Lee Roy was at the old gym playing basketball and he dominated the guys who were playing for OU at the time. Said he was so fluid it was unreal. Also, the basketball coach was always encouraging Lee Roy to come out for BB. Lee Roy weighed 265 and not an ounce of fat in the days of little to any weightlifting.
Lots of good info in recruiting, Super K. Much appreciated.
Solid start to a Friday
What E.T. said.
Phone home.

Dont care where Brey Walker ends up, I’ll be rooting for him. That was awesome!
He will be with us BOOMER
This is really great news Super K, thanks for the OP. Information and awesome as usual. Overall, it is a reminder for me that one game doesn’t really matter for a recruit it’s about relationships.
“Oklahomans at heart” !!
Those are the in staters we need.

Did Mique Juarez watch the UCLA game last night , just come to OU with Kelly now
As long as he didnt watch texsa OU
Maybe he did and thinks he can help teach those guys how to tackle 😉
Good one Dave
Thank you I’ll be here all za week!
Not as bad as the UCLA game.
I would like for Josh Wariboko to change his mind and transfer from UCLA back closer to home to OU. Lord knows we can use the lineman
ship sailed I have no interest in wariboko.
Even with the line play we have seen this year?
He’s made his futon, let him sleep in it.
More like a twin size blow up mattress.
Yeah, I wonder how much his cuz had to do with him going to UCLA? Did they ever follow though with the offer to his bro?
Don’t know about his cuz or his lil bro’.
I just remember his goofing on his commitment to OU by tweeting the misspelled word “Psyche” as “Sike.”
I lost all interest in him with that silly stunt.
yeah, had I saw that, I would have the same feelings!
What has he done at UCLA?
He can’t really build his brand in Norman 😉
That’s funny right there
I disagree… he is where he needs to be. Oklahoma isn’t large enough for his needs and the program isn’t good enough to outpace UCLA…….
needs=brand right? And you are right, OU really struggles to put linemen in the league. Love you!
Ur an idiot, again……………………………………………
Thanks K for your super energetic article. I get the feeling like there just might be some very angry player’s come 2:30 p.m. in Manhattan. BOOMER

That would be more like a $1 question because the answer is too easy.

It doesn’t get any easier.

What’s that you say?
I couldn’t hear you…

Man I would need like 55 of those, those look very very tasty.
there they are
In the words of he who must not be mentioned, I am here who else do you need?
OMG VOLDEMORT IS HERE?!?!
The calm before the storm I guess.
Lurking in the shadow’s. Watching from afar.
And then.
That baby means business.
I think losing to Texas and the reality of what that loss means has sunk the spirits of many Sooner fans. If OU wins throughout October it will pick up again, at least until the Baylor game.
Thanks for the updates K and Brandon. Good to see the coaches building strong relationships with these recruits that goes beyond winning and losing.
Ready for some OL Booms to start rolling in!!!
+1,000
FOOTBALL BRAINIACS “The Gift That Keeps On Giving!” Thank You!
Thanks K, awesome as always. I’m amazed Smallwood is already back, that’s a heck of a healer. He’s more physical, will be interesting to see if he can put it together.
Speaking of physical, after our 1st 2 games it appeared our WR blocking would be a huge strength for this year’s team. Haven’t noticed it as much since. Not sure if I’ve just not noticed or if they just aren’t doing as well. But they sure looked awesome in 1st games.
Brandon, my apology for not recognizing your significant contributions to the recruiting news.
No offense taken. K puts in the work and is rightly acknowledged for that. He is the man.
Well, I felt badly after looking back over and seeing how much recruit info was due to your efforts and felt badly for not recognizing it earlier.
Mea culpa.
What position would the OU coaches under-utilize Williams?
Are you a Rolling Stones fan?
Classic i used to by bootleg stones live stuff albums a place downtown dallas in a scary neighborhood many years ago
Time to wash this nasty taste out our mouths. Sorry K State, you must feel our wrath. BOOMER!!?
SOONER!!
In my opinioin, in regards to recruiting, looking at the roster and those who are starting or getting playing time makes me reminds how young of team we have. It’s pretty crazy the lack of depth that OU has. It makes me relieze how much the new assistants hands have been tied, and how much damage has been done and it isn’t an quick fix.
It’s been really great watching these last two classes grow and develop and become an intrigal part of the team.
Yessir, overall a very young team.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_Oklahoma_Sooners_football_team Young team. Whatever helps you cope I guess
LOL!
And that was a young team, too.
Ok I don’t know if it’s possible but since bond is likely out..could Jordan play his position, and Frank play MLB?
I wouldn’t recommend it for a multitude of reasons, not the least being that Lindley actually played well there last week.
Thanks! Just a thought
I think so, too. Was impressed with Lindley.
The bottom line is that the only way we get Bond’s production back is to get Bond healthy. We just don’t have anyone else on the roster who can replicate him.
Not sure if he’ll be able to replicate him but I believe that they’re grooming DeBerry for his position. I hope he lives up to the hype or even close to it.
There’s been a change to the OL this week and It looks like this is what we’re going into Manhattan with: Brown, Farniok (been rotating with Alvarez so not sure exactly which one of them will start the game off) Ty, Nila, and Samia. Samia was told to get ready to play early in the week and it looks like he’s going to get his chance to start in his first conference game. Everytime I say that this kid may start it never pans out, which is why I held off until today. But it looks like he’s the clear starter as St. John has been with the 2nd team all week. I truly hope they give the run game a chance. Samia is a strong run blocker, so hopefully the right side will open up some nice lanes.
Do you think thats more indicative of Samia being the better option or that St John was telegraphing the plays last week?
I think its because Samia is the better option at this point. Someone on the OL usually always gives signs of what the play will be, St. John was just painfully obvious about it. The bigger problem was, St John blocked poorly on top of it.
Good Id hope it would be a decision based on talent.
Thanks for your input.
It looked to me like St. J was back to “reaching” and not moving his feet, which I thought he had overcome earlier in the season.
Right, his feet were really bad. Samia has really good feet, it’s always been something that stood out when coaches talk about him.
Yeah he was reaching way back on his right foot on pass plays. Poor guy still couldn’t pivot fast enough. Someone said he was dinged up though so he may have been trying to compensate for that. Either way he was telegraphing.
I meant reaching with his arms to block and not using his feet to stay in position. His telegraphing was another issue.
I had a coach back in the day that called that outer foot kicking back a “reach”. That’s what I thought you meant.
Now if Alvarez can get some time at Darlington’s expense and somebody can work themselves in as kasitati;s position , maybe the line will improve and maybe Baker will survive the season at QB.
St John is just too big and lumbering to play tackle and defend the edge rush. Would have been better at guard.
That’s GREAT news!! Thanks for sharing
Good, at this point, I want the young guys to play. My great concern is that we play St. John and Farniok and then next year we are in the same position as this year, losing four starters. Of course, we do have to win games this year, but these young guys need to get enough snaps so that they are ready to go next year. Any idea what the current status of Frison is?
I’m to the point that unless there is a severe drop off, I’d rather groom the younger guys to get ready for years two and three. I’m not talking about sacrificing the season for it, but if the younger guys are close anyway, we might as well get them ready for a run.
It’s not like the older guys are setting the world on fire. If we are going to have growing pains I would rather it be one year rather than two.
Agree. I’d like to see Mayfield behind a line with a little experience. Think he could light it up with a little more time.
I also think it would calm his happy feet too.
I just don’t how much improvement we can expect to see with the upperclassmen. At some point you just have to figure they’ve hit their ceiling. Texas cut through double teams repeatedly. St John is more guard than tackle, and Kas is doing his very best, but it’s not at the level we’ve been spoiled by in recent years. I appreciate their effort, but agree that it might be best to groom the young guys.
Only thing that Ive heard recently is that hes been around and working out but not with the team. Im going to assume both him and Dalton Woods wont be involved until winter workouts.
Thanks KJ.
Heard on the sports animal yesterday that he’s expected to be back and play next season.
Thanks, I’ve been assuming the problem was academic. That usually takes at least a semester to fix. Good to here he’s coming back.
Wonder what Coach B saw in St. John that made him stick with the kid as long as he did. Hope St. John can correct his flaws and continue to contribute though.
I also saw, during the LosuR/WVU game that Solako for osu gives away the type of play with his stance as well. I wonder why that wasn’t exploited during that game like it was with OU against UTerus???? thoughts?
Happy to hear there’s been a change, just hoping there would have been more than one.
What other back up could play? Alvarez gets too many bone head penalties. After that it’s Danley or Dalton for playing time.
Wish we had someone languishing on D depth charts that had the smarts/skills that could switch to O to fill in talent gaps until BB can backfill with new recruits. Is there anyone that fits this?
Nobody that is better at OL than the backups and freshmen we have now. Theres some young talent on both sides of the ball. I feel things are looking good for the next few years. We just need to handle business this year with the guys we have.
I (and I think most TFBers) greatly appreciate your “reports” on the team. You help keep many of us off the ledge.
LR said the other day that it was his ecu team that faced VaTech the week after they beat osu and watching game film the osu OL was a mess, but they improved and won the natty. Implying that it is possible for an OL to improve and gel as a unit as the season progresses. I agree with that, but we are nearly at the mid point of the season and we just haven’t seen the OL show any consistent improvement. There is still time, starting this week. With KSt’s leaking secondary I don’t even care about running the ball this week, just fling it and hope the OL improved on pass pro.
I;m a little concerned that the coaches are bound a determined to emphasize the run game…all the remarks about averaging 4 yards per run against Texas. I know that they know where K-States’ weaknesses are, so maybe it’s just gamesmanship. I hope they don’t feel the need to make a point, for some wacky reason and will just do what’s best.
KSt is giving up 300 yards passing per game and they had to burn a kid’s red shirt last week to play CB.
I hope OU throws 30 passes in the 1st half.
Any movement on the DL this week ??
Just in their bowels.

I’m the same as the rest of u, don’t want to throw away the season but would love Alvarez, Samia and brown get a lot of reps, also would love to see them get Dalton and Danly reps here and there through the year, just to see if they could be better for next year, once again, don’t want to quit on this year, still have way to much to play for, but both Dalton and Danly could be starters next season or atleast 2 that will help
Without question the line should be: LT- Brown LG- Farniok C- Alvarez RG- St. John RT- Samia… Darlington is by far the weakest link. I know he is supposed to be the smartest guy in the room, but any team who has just a decent NG/DT blows him up. He is best suited to be the smartest guy on the sidelines helping his teammates as a player-coach. Second weakest link is Kasatati. Now I know he’s been a little banged up but his play has been poor this year. Unlike Darlington, I’ve seen him play well in the past so I would slowly rotate him in with Farniok as he heals through out the season.. Stoops has always liked to rotate guards throughout the game, and I have no problem with that, as long as Kasatati is healthy. Like I said above his play this year has been poor with the injury. Now, I’m not trying to jump on Darlington. I know he has been banged up as well, but I’ve known for a few years now he physically can’t hang. Alvarez at center!! First time I ever laid eyes on Farniok I knew he could not play tackle. Terrible feet. For a tackle that is…I’ve liked the way Farniok looks at guard. I know he is a little out of position with height alone, but he doesn’t get bull rushed back into Mayfield’s lap, which I can’t say for his teammates Darlington and Kasatati… St. John would be a GREAT offensive guard. He’s a step slow to be an elite tackle, but has the physical capabilities to hold off the inside rush. Look at the Dallas Cowboys converting offensive tackles into guards with Martin from ND and the LSU kid they just drafted. With Farniok, Alvarez, and St. John on the inside. Mayfield would be in heaven by being able to step up in the pocket , and our running game would explode! With this ststement, 3 of our captains would be on the bench. I’m sorry but that’s where they should be. How do we turn this program around? Let start with best player plays. Secondly, play to win! Instead trying not to lose! Stops is loyal to a flaw and is scared to lose. This must change
Everyone has been wondering about Joe Mixon not playing the 1st qt. Feel’s like Mr. Mixon may have a bit of an ego issue. Didn’t Bob throw shade at Mixon in the Tennessee game when Mixon should have handed the ball to Perrine (possible TD) choosing to keep the ball and getting tackled lost a yard or so. I could be wrong just seems like this is part of Bob’s discipline.
WAT
“I could be wrong……”
I believe you are trying to read too far in to things. Perine is more thank likely getting the first quarter nod b/c he’s got an extra year under his belt and one hell of a back.
Bob said that jokingly when talking about mixon and perine in the wildcat, he wasnt being serious.
he was joking about Mixon being “selfish” but he clarified that he was totally serious about Mixon making the wrong read, or was just anxious to carry it himself and that he should have handed the ball off on at least one and probably two of the plays.
Last Saturday we scored two TDs under center, it was great to see. I’ll never understand why you cannot do a little bit of that in the air raid sometimes. I hope we can get it all together on both sides. There is a lot of potential in this squad.
learning curve is expected for Riley while he learns exactly what his guys are capable of during games, I think more people are worried about the OL play(or lack thereof) and the bad tackling reappeared last week
Yeah, would like to see a little Power I action, like KSU ran against TCU. Especially at the goal line.
Gutwald with plenty of Ivy offers. I like it.
What happened to Oko? He’s looked good, and we’ve heard rave reviews … but Lindley was in there. I guess Lindley did OK, but he didn’t star.
I think Obo is a liability when he is expected to maintain outside containment
I saw that a couple of weeks ago. Guess he’s been in the doghouse bigtime.
He is in the doghouse right now because of academic issues. Coach Stoops stated it publicly the other night.
Thanks! Hadn’t heard that. Not good.
Coach was not successful in concealing his disappointment when he said it.
ala Mr. Striker last week.
Would like to see Alvarez start at center.
Uh oh….
He can’t even hold his job at LG, much less replace a Rimington and Outland trophy watch list candidate at Center.
Technically left guard. But, is it expected of guards to be able to play either side? For example, if Farniok is playing LG and Kasitati gets hurt would Alvarez go in at RG?
I edited it shortly after I posted.
The depth chart shows Dalton as the backup at RG, for what that’s worth.
EasTex, was he the one who started the one game for Ty, or was it Dalton?
Alvarez started in the Tulsa game for Ty.
Okay, thought he done a decent job.
He did, but it was Tulsa…at home.
Couple things I have noticed thus far or have not noticed so to speak. One is the line depth was an issue coming in. no? Now recruiting wise we have been in on some big boys and got some good recruits, guess the question is with all the issues why not try guys out not like we can look much worse! Second Shannon is with the team why not play him, mean he is a run stopper right, to add to that Dom looks ok but, he kind of in the right place right time LB not a down hill attacking guy, Striker is a great rush LB not a good run support LB. DB’s again like the line so much talent and depth use them give them a chance Byrd has to go, move him to a slot WR or something. Flowers and Ross, Flowers is a good real good just not getting the time same with Ross, find a place for these kids and get the ball to Andrews more are you kidding me. Perine and Mixon need more than 10-15 touches to be successful. Seibert is legit. Things are not broken, but need tuning!
I think it was Kish who indicated that Shannon is coming along well, but that the year off hurt him more than they had expected, and was compounded by all the time he missed during summer, so he’s still working to get it together apparently.
Some sobering defensive stats through the easier part of the schedule:
Scoring defense: 51
Total defense: 51
Turnover margin: 90
Rushing defense: 95
1st Down Defense: T 56
3rd Down Defense: T-77
4th Down Conversion % Defense: T-105th
Red zone defense: T-60
Fumbles recovered: T-66
Passes intercepted: T-77
Penalties: T-97
On the positive side:
Punt return defense: 9
Team sacks: T-16
Passing yards allowed: 20
Passing efficiency defense: 35
Those aren’t great defensive stats (except punt returns) but they are an improvement over last year. Unfortunately, there are more areas where we are as bad or worse than last year and it only gets tougher from here.
A large part of stats is who you’ve played. OU has played some decent offenses (WVU, Tulsa) and a team (Texas) that dissected us. But I still think this defense is pretty solid.
The defense has improved, and the offense too. It’s just that we had so much room for improvement over last year.
Statistically speaking, our offense is about the same. I see greater potential for this offense if we can get some halfway decent line play.
Another point, some lapses (some in garbage time) where they gave up quick plays. Letting both Tulsa & WVU get some big plays skews that. I agree, the D is better. Not as good as I hoped, but definitely better. If they could only get tackling down….they’ve been in good position most of the year though. Not seeing the complete busts of last year. Just got to tackle. Can’t believe that can be such a problem.
Plan your weekend accordingly

shame so many potentially good games land on same day at the same time or overlap
The 2:30 slot is definitely loaded
I am close to a decision on the 2:30 slot.
For me there is no other game on at that time.
I didn’t laff.
My eyes will be on the “ONLY ONE” that matters.

I didn’t read past the first sentence. Ty is our Center and deservedly so.
Ditto
If he is our best center then that is an issue. He continues to get beat. Maybe he is the best we have, I have always enjoyed your posts and you probably know more than I do, but the middle of that line keeps getting manhandled so something needs to be done.
He very seldom gets beat.
I doubt many here ever played on the OL and don’t fully understand his position, especially when he has to make a shotgun snap.
What I see is an excellent technician that almost without exception turns his man away from the play. It doesn’t matter that a charging DT gets a push, it is that he doesn’t make the play. I saw the same thing last night with the stanford Center, he got drove 2 yards into the backfield, but he maintained his technique and kept his man from making a play on a 7 yard TD run.
I agree as a unit the OL is deficient, but the Rimington and OUtland award candidate Darlington is not the major source of the problem.
Agreed!

Pick on the hurt guys day.
Getting fired up for my high school team’s homecoming game. Wish I could be there, but Thank God for the interwebs.
After last week’s thrilling and crucial upset win over our arch rival, the HC has been telling the kids to just “keep stomping the grapes, just don’t drink the win.”

Halftime is over, going to watch the rest of Draper’s game. Check back later. Hope your boys are getting it done.
They are doing good, up 35-13 late in the 2nd qtr with the ball and moving again.
Sooners stuck in OKC mechanical issues with plane, then the backup plane too
Dang!
Thought they were already at their hotel by now.
https://twitter.com/JRsBBQ/status/655114955021094912
Should be but this is bad. May not get to bed til late. At least it’s not a 11am kick
He must have sent that before they discovered mechanical problems.
Yeah Kenny Mossman says closing in on 6 hours. Team off plane to watch film
Time stamp was at 3:15p.m.
Fire up the ole Greyhound!
Where is uber when you really need it?
Load up the wagons
They are too busy looking for passengers they can rape. 🙁
That’s awful. People are the worst
Uber sucks and blows.
I’ve never used and wont
When I got my new phone in March after I got it set up the way I wanted I started disabling unwanted apps, uber and FB went away in that order.
Yeah good plan
FB just creeps me out.
I use it to keep up with family across this great country
Be careful when posting images and personal information.
People do search the metadata in images to find your location.
Yes I am careful
I used to, but have some family members that I found out more than I wanted to know on fb, so now I just use it to see the pics of my grandkids growing up, since I can’t be there, I just don’t post anything on fb anymore.
I was feeling sorry for myself, lost 4 hrs in a backup on I-12 today in Louisiana. I’m hauling some emergency jumbo jet parts to Houston. Seems ironic, i’m tied up due to a ammonia leak near the interstate with plane parts, and OUr team is tied up on the tarmack needing some plane parts.
Rod Sterling would make a good story out of that scenario. 🙂
I miss that show, do-do-do-do
I love it when they show it. At least once a year they have a Twilight Zone and/or Outer Limits marathon on Syfy.
Oh and it’s Friday, so they are probably at their mosques, anyway.
At the Trinity Southlake game. Not impressed with the DT Daniels. Barnes is fast but not physical against the run. Ogba is nice. Fast and physical.
I get some look ins on the game on Fox Sports.
Trinity is really good. Lots of Power 5 players on the field. 21-14 Trinity at half.
I saw him play a full game at the start of the season against a Cali team, Daniels was an immovable force in the middle of the DL.
One play I saw from tonight was a SL TD run, and it looked like they double teamed him and ran on the opposite side.
You fellas have a great night and BOOMER SOONER tomorrow. Feel like we get to see Legatron make a game winner tomorrow
Dang!
My high school’s QB, last week’s East Texas player of the week, who came into this game 55 for 80 with one int, 8 TDs and nearly 2000 yds passing, was injured while being sacked while attempting a screen pass.
Announcers think it is his knee.
/*crap*
Double-crap.
Kid has to be taken off the field on a cart to the EMT.
He leaves the game 3 for 6, all three completions were for TDs.

So is it a university owned plane maintained by a contractor or is it a charter?
I’m assuming it’s a charter flight (that means I’m not really sure), but the assumption is because the dudes are photo bombing in what really looks like to me the airport. Taking a lot of pics with the kids in the airport.
Sort of twixt and tween. Either go ahead and stay at a local hotel and fly out in the morning or stay with it tonight until it’s fixed.
Blevins says it looks like up to another 6 hr delay, no end in sight. The interesting tweet said could be a 6 pm kickoff tomorrow. I have no way of knowing if that was a joke or for real. Some are in the AA lobby, some are snoozing on the plane.
Doubt they will change the kick time.
No bueno.
Especially when ABC is there.
https://twitter.com/MBlue_66/status/655194065365958656
I believe it is a regular commercial flight. I traveled from Seattle to Dallas with the baseball team when they were coming back from Hawaii on an Alaska Airlines flight.
I think its a charter. Theyre waiting on the backup plane thats broken down in houston.
Thank God it is not a 9 am kick!
https://twitter.com/DeanBlevins/status/655200463998943232
Will they be asking for some of their money back this year!
https://twitter.com/john_shinn/status/655201115093471232
Seems the coaches have the team off the plane now watching film in the terminal. Getting some constructive down time.
They should be using American, at least they have a huge maintenance facility in Tulsa.
I would be checking to see if any maintenance workers have transferred down here from Kansas…..**conspiracy theory** 🙂
Wichita was the center of American aviation for a long time, you might be onto something.
I’ve grown quite fond of Alaska Air lately. I’ve taken a couple of trips to Seattle in the last year and took both American & Alaskan. They Alaska jets are nice, new and clean, unlike the turds American rolls out. And now, Alaska flies to Seattle directly from Will Rogers Airport! I don’t know if they have flights to Manhattan, but if they do, that ‘s who I’d use.
Huepel and USU are putting it on Boise State tonight 24-3 2nd quarter.
The Good Lord has mercy on the blind squirrel on occasion. 🙂
*chuckle*
https://twitter.com/TedLehman11/status/655202296322617344
Guess I had better get to bed, they might need these parts 1st thing in the morning to get OUr guys to Manhattan.
Log that down time, bud.
Be sure and not let them start the game before I can get unloaded and get my sattelite dish up tomorrow.
— bad day for united and new ceo…..via wsj
–” Mr. Munoz, 56 years old, was named to the United job Sept. 8 after the abrupt ouster of his predecessor. He had pledged to work quickly to fix operational problems and hostile labor relations that have plagued the company since it was formed in a 2010 merger.”
Is he the one that had a heart attack today?
yeah
I would not want to fly with a company that was having hostile labor relations.
if I’m understanding deano, their okc plane had mech probs, the backup is late due to mech probs……….that would make the flight up here a test flight?
That’s the way I see it. Butt pucker all the way to Kansas.
The pucker factor for the flight to OKC was so high, the pilot’s seat cover is nowhere to be found. :-0
snyder’s clever with what he can pull off
Never trust a man who tucks a wind breaker into his slacks. 🙂
Or wears a belt and suspenders.
Or doesn’t order tots with a burger. 🙂
Burn the witch!!!
Don’t anger the football gods

Josh is giving Boise some payback. Hope he doesn’t go conservative in the 2nd.
Well, my boys won 45-19 and are now 7-0. A somber victory, may have lost the QB for the season and the starting FB went down with an apparent knee injury late in the 4th qtr.
If the QB is lost it is a real shame for him after battling on bad and mediocre teams since he was forced into the starting job as a freshman.
Congrats to your team on the win and perfect record. I’d take that same score for OUr guys tomorrow without the injuries. Hate it when kids get hurt.
Tough game next week with Texarkana.
The problem is the back up QB is our best RB. He can throw but not with the accuracy and consistency of the kid that got hurt.
Really feel for the kid if his season is gone, he was counting on a good run in the playoffs.
Maybe it won’t turn out as bad as it seems and will be a positive outcome for both kids. Let’s hope for that.
I will pray for the QB and the FB. God has unlimited powers and He has illustrated that he answers prayers.
Appreciate that.
Don’t know yet the extent of the injuries. The QB was seen being fitted with an air cast on his right leg before the EMT’s transported him away. While I am concerned how this effects the team going forward, I am more concerned that the young man can heal up mentally and physically. At the pace he was on he would have become the schools all-time passing leader, which would include Hall of Fame QB Y.A. Tittle and many excellent QBs over the years.
The team and packed house turned to zombies after he got hurt. They only scored on one FG in the second half.
This is now completely out of hand.
https://twitter.com/DeanBlevins/status/655217640252637184
Losing the luggage would just be icing on top.
No kidding. They could of shuttled everyone to Manhattan on the private plane by now.
They should have had them on team buses hours ago, not like they’re going to WV.
After 2 hours they should have had the buses ready.
They need to just pull one off the commercial flights already.
Just saying this flight fiasco is going to affect the team tomorrow. Reminds me of the 4 hour rain delay vs tech in 2011
Hopefully they will be focused enough that delays won’t matter. Still have to play the game, that is if they ever get there! This is getting ridiculous.
It has already totally jacked their travel routine.
No team meal, a full night’s sleep is out the window, no walk through, then the morning and pre-game routine is going to be effected, as well.
Sure hope the boys can rise above it.
Team meal has been alot of airport food. Not good.
Hope Coach Tiff was able to pull some goodies out of the bags.
College boys should be able to party all night and play all day. 🙂
Good point.
I know I could.
But you’re awesome. 🙂
This is true.
Well if I’m stoops, joe C and boren I would refuse any plane United rolls out. If I was about to fly somewhere and come to find out the airline has tried 4 different planes but all had mechanical issues, I would cancel my trip.
Read they had final walk through last night after arrival at hotel.
It affects them only if they allow it. Tech had to wait through same lighting delay as ourselves. We’ll be fine. However the person responsible for this charter fiasco won’t be.
I wonder if they’ll give out free round trip tickets to anywhere in the continental United States as compensation……jus sayin
After this, who would want them?
Well, I’ll find out in the morning what the sitrep is.
Later dudes and dudettes.
Nite!
Gn
See ya in the game thread tomorrow. 😉
Beware of impostors. 🙂
Plane just got there…theyre about to board.
Hope someone is putting fuel in it.
Yeah really.
The dude on Ch. 8 in Tulsa just said they’re now on their way. Can anyone confirm?
They havent left. About to board.
Saw your post after I posted. Thanks, sir.
Can’t see them from my house.
You should be in bed, old man.
Headed that way, as soon as I finish these last three beers. 🙂
Word up.
A man has to have his priorities straight. 🙂
Flight info: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL2213
What I want to know is why they are flying for a 300 mile trip? That’s about a 4.5 hr drive or less.
Because it’s NORMALLY a 45 minute flight. According to newsok.com they did contemplate driving instead at some point during the delay.
The flight maybe 45 minutes, but when you count the 2 hrs prior to flight that you need to be there to check luggage, get through security, etc , you’re looking at nearly 3 hours and a greater expense. It just doesn’t make sense to me to fly to such a close destination. Manhattan, Lawrence, Waco, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Stoolwater all should be road trips. Lubbock is a toss-up. Since they have an Int’l airport flying makes some sense, but I remember when I was at OU they played TTU and bused it there and back. Morgantown and Ames are definite flights.
So the fighting Heupels scored 52 on BSU.
I’m very happy for coach Heupel. Good for him!! I want to see him do well.
I had a good night tonight. I’m normally at work on Friday nights, but I’m on vacation. I haven’t been to a high school football game in Oklahoma in 20+ years, and only 1 high school game (my niece does cheer or some majorette thing for Parish Episcopal in Dallas and I went to a game to see her) during that time.
The weather tonight was a gorgeous 59 degrees, so I put The Monsters (that’s what I call my Yorkies) on their leashes and walked them over to Harve Collins field. We stood outside the fence and watched Norman North blast 49 first half points on Edmond North. Quan Hogan is impressive, and the NNHS QB was pretty good too.
I saw a lot of people bundled up in coats which I found odd. Shorts and a polo was more than enough clothing for me. October is my favorite month, by far. Everything about it says “football”… it is just so comfortable. I ran on the track this afternoon at Norman HS and it was comfortable, unlike the summer when I have to run in the morning or late at night.
Anyway…it was HS football. It took me back somewhat to my high school days in Tulsa. I just wish I appreciated those days and savored those moments more while I was there instead of always looking to the future.
I was training in Tulsa in May of this year during the week of birthday and felt a little nostalgic. I stayed with my brother who lives in the Union school district and is 4 blocks from the Jenks district, but he also lives about 1.5 miles from my old high school. So, I drove by my high school and some of the areas we hung out back then. I even took The Monsters for a walk around LaFortune Park and reminisced. Good times.
Oops…I forgot…I worked at an Edlam game between Santa Fe and North in 2004. That’s still a long time since I’d seen a HS game.
Boomer! Let’s crush the cats today!
Barely two minutes into game and Baylor and WV both score a TD. No defenses at all.
I learned a lot from the specifics . Does someone know if my assistant might be able to grab a template GA WC-1 document to use ?
