– Levi Onwuzurike: Earlier this week OU offered 2016 DE Levi Onwuzurike (Allen, TX). While the Sooners are certainly one of his later offers, this is not the first time OU has been in touch with him.
Back in the spring coach Reynolds actually stopped by to visit Levi and they discussed the possibility of an offer at that time. We caught up with Levi to discuss whether he was planning on taking a trip to OU and he said that right now he’s got a number of visits planned so he couldn’t say with certainty when an OU visit would happen. He tells us that he’s currently planning on taking official visits to Arizona State, Michigan, and Washington.
When we asked him how it felt to receive the OU offer he said, “Obviously it’s a big deal…OU is one of those schools everyone wants an offer from”.
On a somewhat related note, OU did not make the top 5 for 2016 DE Isaiah Chambers. At one point, OU was probably Chambers leaders but obviously the departure of Jerry Montgomery changed things. It won’t be surprising if more defensive end offers go out in the near future. – (Alex, Super K)
– Tylan Wallace: Another offer OU made earlier this week was to 2017 LB Tylan Wallace (Fort Worth, TX). Wallace said he received the offer from coach Simmons and that although he and coach Simmons have been in contact fairly regularly, the offer still came as a pleasant surprise. Wallace said he plans on visiting for one of the games in Norman this season. – (Brandon)
– Team Note | Zack Sanchez: Some of you may have noticed that Sanchez seemed a little banged up during last weeks game against Tulsa. I am told that he is taking it easy this week and has not practiced all week. It sounds like it’s really more just to rest him for the WVU game and as of now I fully expect him to be ready to go for that game. – (Super K)

Afternoon OP! woohoo! and Boomer!
SOOONERRRRRRRRRR
And what is fresh of the wire this afternoon???
Trouble in Bama! Wow!
Yes, we got trouble, right here in River City!
what trouble
Rumor was that Kiffin had an affair with someone prominent.
satans wife lmao
Saw that Demetric Warren predicted Devwah Whaley to UGA
As we mentioned earlier in the week, the Dawgs are way out in front now. OU and UGA were his favorites and the UGA visit blew them away this past weekend.
Think we will be ok without Devwah
That’s what I was thinking , might as well stockpile on LBs this year , really good class of LBs
Striking out on RBs not necesarrily a bad thing this year considering how tight scholarships are expected to be and the depth we have there
I agree but I think we all agree we would rather have him than not.
can never have enough talented guys on campus
Yeah, I read that and thought it was probably the ‘silent commit’ stage for him to Georgia, but was holding out hope
Obviously he wants to be the centerpiece of the offense, so could it be the LR offense that might have him leaning another direction?
Either way we get our shot at him during the TCU game and Gundy has a way with RB’s, so I guess we’ll see.
Not to imply there’s anything wrong with our offense, but Georgia seems to want to run the ball on practically every down.
Could also be looking at comparative depth charts too.
Chubb is gone after next year, but I don’t know anything about the guys behind him.
Sony Michel is good
Didn’t the lose a couple of guys last year? Kicked off the team and one was hurt bad enough to end his career?
Gurley was suspended part of the season (an NCAA thing I believe) then tore up his knee in the final game. That’s all I can remember off the top of my head.
Maybe that is what I’m thinking of.
I think the approach OUr coaches should take to a running back who is enamored with playing for a team like Georgia who pounds the ball is to try and sell them on the fact that all those extra hits and runs will shorten their careers. Come to OU, split your carries, and leave your body and legs fresh for the NFL while minimizing your chances for injury 🙂
#SECquarterbacks
Until one of our backs turns in an outstanding game in the LR offense
Any chance we can get a visit from Sean McGrew and Moe Neal ?
That might change depending on how productive the RBs are in this new offense, you think? The running game seems to be improving, and they get touches in other ways. I always tend to be an optimist.
Check out my humorous post about some of the Big 12’s finest!!
https://theyoungersideofsports.wordpress.com/2015/09/24/on-blast/
I would have thought after Sanchez got done with the TU game they would have given him more practice.
I think some knee pain is affecting his play. Noticed him kinda limping during the game. I think others noticed it as well.
Yes he seemed a bit off thought i saw him limp some also
Players are bad to throw a limp out after they get beat. Nothing new.
Big ? Is why was he still playing then?
Cause he is still better with a bum knee than the backups
Bingo. It’s not difficult to think that our best corner, and a guy that I’m sure made Pre-Season Big 12 1st or 2nd team, is better with a minor injury than our 4th string. You know, b/c our other starting CB was out against Tulsa too.
big question is what you are you here for? do you enjoy getting this free information to then talk smack about players and coaches? some of you i have trouble understanding exactly what it is you are here for. never have anything positive to say about anything. never have anything positive to say about anyone. always taking shots at people. you’re either (a)not fans, (b)you’re extremely fickle, (c)you expect some sort of perfection from a sports team you’ll never live up to yourself, (d)you just like to take shots at anything and anyone,(e)you’re trolls or (f)all of the above. please help me understand how taking shots at Mike or anyone else helps anything besides giving some douche on the internet his jollies
I’m not a sunshine pumper. I call it like I see it. I see a problem if there’s no other DB ready to go when Sanchez has an injury. Plain and simple if you don’t like it go cry to someone else.
the sunshine pumper company line. man you guys never skip a beat. as to your perceived problem with the depth, you can blame that on a coach that is no longer here. i will call you out every time you post some bull crap. if you want something done go tryout for the team or send in your resume for a job. my guess is you’ll get laughed out of the stadium. maybe we can make a “boom” reality show for some of you clowns to show off your “skills”
is it reasonable to think even after the Tulsa game that we have at least the second best D in the big 12 behind WVU?
I haven’t seen WVU play anyone yet. Maybe they have the second best D in the Big XII, behind the Sooners?
They haven’t played anyone good yet
Yeah, that was what I meant.
DOHH
LOL! I expect everyone to know what I mean and not just what I say.
As stated i completely agree
We got your back.
It’s appreciated!
`Then you should say what you mean,’ the March Hare went on.
`I do,’ Alice hastily replied; `at least–at least I mean what I say–that’s the same thing, you know.’
`Not the same thing a bit!’ said the Hatter. `You might just as well say that “I see what I eat” is the same thing as “I eat what I see”!’
`You might just as well say,’ added the March Hare, `that “I like what I get” is the same thing as “I get what I like”!’
`You might just as well say,’ added the Dormouse, who seemed to be talking in his sleep, `that “I breathe when I sleep” is the same thing as “I sleep when I breathe”!’
Leave it to Bob lol
Well this place is kind of a mad tea party every day. Actually more a beer and tater tots kind of place but you get the idea.
Bye week you help with this alot
This is another reason I love this site. MOST of us on here can take a good ribbing and laugh about it. I know it keeps me sane (and that takes a lot right there).
I always think of Jefferson Airplane when talking Alice in Wonderland.

And an adult movie
And that video reminds me of things I did when I was a teenager, which will never be mentioned again.
Love that song.
EDIT: and I had forgotten all about the Smothers Brothers!
LOL! I know, I’m still looking for that rock to hide under…
They played liberty and who else?I know Maryland this weekend
Georgia Southern
my perception is mainly coming off of the talented secondary they had returning from last year. Sooners could definitely be the best in my opinion.
WVU has to play on the road in conference against OU, Baylor, TCU, & KSU. I do not see them winning those games.
I think WVU is going to have a solid defense, and that includes their line.
They shutout Georgia Southern, who went 9-3 and had the 3rd or so best rushing attack in the nation last year
And GS rushed for about 200 yards against WVU as well, they turned the ball over like 3 or 4 times though.
NO , and WV doesn’t have the best defense in the conference, either……
……..
K or Josh. What does Levi do really well and what areas does he need to work on. Just trying to understand what type of DE they will get out of Levi. I do like the Allen pipeline.
Pure beast
Wow, try blocking this guy!
http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/page/instantawesome-7FootTallDL-150924/this-7-foot-tall-440-pound-defensive-lineman-towers-opponents?ex_cid=ESPNFB
Make him our version of baylors fat tight end
Dude wouldn’t be hard to block in a fast paced offense. Couldn’t hang very long.
In case anyone has forgotten what a dominant, punishing runner and all-out athlete Dalton Wood is, here’s a refresher:
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/549598/highlights/192941377/v2
Love having this guy back in the fold.
Is the McAllister kid who has come and gone a couple times? Is he back with the team?
In January as a walk on, to earn the scholly back.
I looked it up and see that it is him… is he back on team? I also noticed I need to learn how to spell McAlester 🙂
They played him at QB but that’s not his true position. I don’t think the coaches know what they have with him other than he’s a stud. Both his parents are HS coaches too.
Great, instinctual change of pace runner. He’s a baller!
Looks like he’s playing against 6th graders he so good!
I’m a little slow on the news…didn’t know he was back. I hadn’t heard his name in a while now. Is this a new development?
Fairly new yes- walking on in January to try to earn his scholarship back.
nice to hear! I like him too. Was bummed when he didn’t show. thanks for the info

Who? I’m kidding.
Speaking of RB’s, I saw yesterday that OU offered 2017 RB Trey Sermon from Georgia.
Maybe figuring that the Bulldogs already has their feature RB commitment for this class?
Sanchez looked like he had a knee problem, to me. I noticed it early in the TU game.
Should Jon Michael-Terry play DE for us instead of OLB , because Caleb Kelly & Dontavious Jackson are must get players for us , if Mique Juarez takes a OV to OU and we get into the picture with him , that could be 5 LBs in this class
They also have Marvin Terry in the mix, can’t forget him cause he is a kid already in the mix. JMT would be a better fit for DE or a stand up OLB like that of Striker. With BY and Jefferson in, I think we look at CK for sure like 100% and then Smith or Joyner are better targets than Juarez IMO, Jackson may be a long shot but anything can happen. I think it’s likely to look like, Marvin Terry, JMT, BY, Caleb Kelly, and Jefferson. if we can get one of the 3 of Smith, Joyner, or Jackson we make room and maybe convert JMT to a DE. Again my 2 cents.
I forgot about Smith , hopefully he takes a OV to OU soon , I would love to have him
Their are so many good Defensive players this year IMO , we don’t need a RB this year
OU is a school ‘ everybody wants an offer from’ ; OU is a school few top tier athletes want to sign with—those guys are going to tOSU / Alabama / Auburn / USC /—schools in better conferences………….
yawn
3 min response time, not bad
Steve, can I call you steve? What happened to your cup man? Did you break it on accident, was it knocked over during a poker game, smashed against the wall during 2011 Bedlam? What happened to you?
lol
bad day again eh…
Here Stephen you need a basket of kittens. No one can be depressed with a basket of kittens.
http://www.lovethispic.com/uploaded_images/66640-Basket-Full-Of-Kittens.jpg
allergic
How about these? They are stuffed.
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/516DDM53AGL._SX355_.jpg
Stuffed with more kittens…
That is funny, thank you
Looks like two raccoons, two tigers, a polar bear, and a panda.
Shh, this is Stephen do you think he would know the difference?
The one of the far right is game faced.
One kitten is laughing at him and the others are just bored!
That one is hissing.
Do you have any idea what Stephen Dale would do to those kittens?
He would begin by telling them how stupid they were for committing to such a small basket.
Nothing worse then seeing OU beat another one of those teams from “better” conferences, huh? You’ve been butthurt for the last 12 days I take it before finally lashing out, LOL? Better get ready- you’re going to be bitter A LOT this year I think!
In your opinion, is it just the conference that keeps those athletes from signing?
Being in those “better conferences” hasn’t really helped the like of Washington, Washington St, Oregon St, Cal (for the most part), Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Miss St, Kentucky, or Missouri reel in those 5* guys.
That’s what I’m trying to get from SD, because as you said, it’s not the conference. I can see signing with a TOP school in a certain conference as a tipping point. But it’s not the reason why OU loses out on some recruits.
Go find a boulder and KICK IT!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you that elite players more often than not want to go to tOSU, Bama, and FSU. The conference has nothing to do with it.
Fact is OU just isn’t the hot commodity it used to be. Wait for the facilities and things will change. And, a 2016 National Championship
I’m going to stop being nice to you. You don’t like OU. It’s clear. You’re always negative about OU. That’s also clear.
Because you have the memory of a goldfish and the positivity of a hangover, I’ve listed some recruits that signed with OU just last year. These recruits were recruited by those teams you said OU is losing them to.
As I’ve told others who are consistently negative about everything OU, I’m going to start poking you with a stick. You wont’ like it, but we’ll have fun. *smiles*

You better put a hunting point on that stick. He’s been poked so many times, he looks like a lawn sprinkler when he drinks from his half empty glass. 🙂
Let’s also remember that most teams only sign about one out of seven of the players they offer. The following are the number of offers each school had in 2015:
tOSU – 212
Alabama – 204
USC – 121
Auburn – 156
OU – 150
Notice anything interesting? They all took about the same number of commits, but tOSU and Alabama had to offer a third more players to get enough to sign. Sounds like they are the ones losing out on players not us. Only one had fewer offers than we did. Looks like we do a better job overall of getting the players we want than the schools mentioned.
Facts are such pesky things.
Facts are not near as fun as throwing a hand full of crap at a wall. 🙂
It certainly requires less brain power. A monkey can do that and not even a trained monkey. In fact you pretty much have to train them to not do it.
If only we had a monkey trainer in here.
Homerun.

Thank you the sunny disposition you bring here…said no one ever!
Stephen, you’re shtick has ran its course. I’ve always given you the benefit of the doubt when no one else would, but today you’ve completely lost me. Kids today (especially skill position players) are looking for playing time, football brand, education, NFL pipelines, team success, etc., long before taking into consideration conference affiliation.
Oklahoma has one of the most respected, successful coaches in the game, more modern era success than any other team in the country, more players in the NFL than 95% of FBS teams, premium facilities that are being upgraded, a tremendous following, generous television coverage, one of the best traveling fan bases of all time, and on and on.
Anytime Oklahoma shows up on someone’s schedule, that game gets circled because playing Oklahoma means something. I’ve traveled to OU games from the east coast to the west coast and I’ve seen what it means to other schools, football schools, to have the Oklahoma Sooners on their campus. It’s a very, very big deal.
Recruiting, like all facets of ANY football program, goes thru cycles. It’s inescapable, but for you to make the statement you did, along with all your other anti-Oklahoma bloviations, is completely asinine and at best details your lack of football knowledge and/or exposes you for the disingenuous troll that you are.
I think I speak for most here when I say your act has grown very tired. Nobody on this board has any respect or patience for your mindless opinions, so please, please consider relocating to a forum more accepting and better suited for your flawed and insensible rationale. No self-respecting individual would stay where they’re not wanted.
Right now as I type this there are 5 people responding to Stephen. Bravo!
Im pretty sure he just needs an e-hug from Bob Stoops
He needs a twitter account or radio show.
Stinkin’ yard birds. That’s what you all are!
I know. He can co-anchor a TV show with Finebaum.
Featuring breaking news alerts from Dean-o and Tramel
Nah, I see and hear enough of Skip Bayless as it is.
I hadn’t seen him in a couple of days. I was wondering if he were on suicide watch somewhere. No one can walk around in the gloom he does and not consider ending it all.
he was silently reveling in his wrong prediction vs Tennessee
Do we have a WVU visitor list yet?
Jeff Lebby
Bwaahahahaha! Good one!!
…
We’re a week and a half out & w/ the early kick time still waiting to see if OU doesn’t ask some to possibly reschedule (assuming some don’t do it on their own). I’m sure we’ll have something early-to-mid next week once things can be closer to being locked in.
Thanks for the non-Lebby answer.
Can I make a site suggestion? I assume most of us look up recruits on 247 or Rivals after they’re mentioned here. Would it be possible to add links to recruiting profiles when recruits are mentioned in open posts? Not a big deal. Just a thought.
I’m kind of glad the contributors here don’t link or make reference to the recruiting services, honestly.
I’d be stoked if they got back to profiling different recruits from the Sooner state like they used to. The “Blind Tape Test” would be a welcomed sight as well.
Yes! This would be a big help.
Or……TFB possibly creating there own player profile page….? Just thinking out loud.
I would love to have some of this stuff incorporated into this site, however, my understanding of the writers, editors, mods etc at TFB have a day job, to put food on the table and this is their passion. To update recruits, profiles etc. would be a major undertaking. I’m sure TFB guys would love to provide such a site, but at what cost. I would anticipate a site like that as a necessary paid site. Just a thought, if we as posters had page on TFB where we could possibly add/subtract recruits, update info in something like a SoonerWiki page (idea only). Posters, writers, editors could update, maintain profiles, might work. ONLY problem I see is the differences of opinions, half full vs half empty personas, and errant misinformation that pops up due to whatever.
I’m happy with what they do because as you said, day jobs, kids, and family come into play. There is The Original Posters page that is seldom used now that I would like to see modified so that members could freely post their own topics.
We could establish a go fund me site fot TFB upgrades….

Catchy.
Loved it!

Presently watching Cincinnati v. Memphis. Really like the Memphis uniforms. Really like their offense too. Justin doing a heckuva job there as HC.
So Ed Oliver told ESPN that he can’t think of anything that would make him flip. Wants to stay close to home. Hmm
Donor: “Are you sure about that, Ed? How about $250,000 and an oil well?”
Get his “minister” on the phone.
Simple. Buy this kids family a house in Norman.
That is ok, let him play at Cougar High. He will get a taste of OU football next Labor Day weekend when OU plays uh. Now Tyrie Cleveland, I want him in an OU uniform next season.
Tyrie is super fast. I wanted both him and Olivier, I guess you can’t get them all.
If he does stay with his commitment at UH, I respect that. Let’s move on to the prospects that are truly interested in OU.
So tired of hearing ESPN pump LSU RB. He ran for 228 yards on an Auburn team that gave up 199 yards rushing to JSU the week before. They have to have an SEC guy no matter what.

Who was the OU coach on the sideline?
Edit: was that Kerry Cooks?
This Memphis/Cinci game is a battle. Justin has himself a pretty athletic QB.
Think I’ll be watching as many American conf games as I can catch- high-octane offenses in this conference.
No doubt. They’ve been very impressive.
And TU gets to play both of them. (Memphis in Tulsa)
That ticket will be worth the price.
Yep-
The over under on this Memphis game was 70.5, HA!!
Easy money. 🙂
That could have been for each half. 🙂
That might turn into a heck of a game. You know they’re not going to get any love, but there’s some great football played outside the P5.
Makes you wonder if some of the offenses right now can only be beat by a BETTER offense and some luck.
That’s been the topic of conversation lately- Defenses can’t seem to do the job anymore, gonna have to outscore everyone in shoot-outs to win.
Eventually we’ll be saying “Hang a full hundred on ’em”.
http://247sports.com/Article/Mique-Juarez-receives-his-US-Army-All-American-jersey–39691672
Seems he thinks C Kelly is already a Sooner .. . . Think that’s a good sign?
I found his wording odd. Don’t know if it means anything but interesting at least.
and now look for memphis to get touted as the best little engine that could simply because of who they play oct 17
They do play in Memphis…
i hope memphis beats the absolute crap out of em. espn will act like no living person has eyeballs and will dupe everyone into thinking memphis could make some noise in the sec for when the rebs squeak past em. preemptive damage control network
They get a bye after USF and I’m not convinced that Ole Miss is quite as special as ESPN would have us believe.
yeah. they beat bama last yr and still lost 4 and got blasted by the frogs. that whole conference ain’t much of nothing. they bleed same as everybody when punched in the mouth
Everybody has a plan ’til they get punched in the mouth, lol!
Haha. Truer words
Oxford is probably a little over an hour drive from the stadium. That place will be filled with Ole Miss fans.
re memphis game…….not great quality but was fun……..not a bad league lineup………compare that to the pro display running concurretly that was like taking a benadryl……..wish snyder could get the skins going………………remember the cinc qb, gunner kiel………was the qb recruiting jewel a few yrs ago and bounced around to land at cincy………sent to the hospital tonite after a targeting hit…..hope he’s ok
I was really wanting to see GK tonight. If he would have stayed with K. Wilson I think he could have really turned into something special. Who knows, I f he would have stayed with ND he’d be starting right now.
Dan Snyder turn the skins around? Those are some pretty lofty expectations. Why don’t you wish for world peace or the resurrection of Jack Kent Cooke instead.
EDIT: been a skins fan for 35 years, DS should stick with amusement parks and telecommunications.
could I have george allen. billy kilmer et al?…..btw, kiel at lsu would have been interesting
While you’re at it, grab Riggins, Monk and the original Sammy B.
Wasn’t ruled as targeting but good luck to GK just the same.
thxs, I stand corrected
Has anyone started scouting Ohio State for next season’s game?
