FOOTBALL

‘Will Mike Stoops’ defensive changes produce improvements?’ (TW)

It’s one guy — and based on some of the other predictions, I’m not sure how much stock I’d put in this one — but here is one prediction on Trevor Knight winning the QB1 gig. (DMN)

3 Big 12 teams make the top ten softest schedule list…..embarrassing.

    • Eli Kalika says:

The big 12 hasn’t done a good job of publicizing that it plays a 9 game conference schedule, so ooc when compared in a vacuum will appear lackluster. Truth is, looking at those conferences that play a 8 game conference schedule + ooc and comparing it the big 12 schedules is quite even- the main difference is marketing and PR. Remember that ohio state played a baby soft ooc schedule last year except for virginia tech, and lost their only tough game ooc. Good PR made that not matter at the end.

Same with SEC to be fair.

There is no way OU beats Tenn, UT, & TCU, and loses to both KSU and OSU.

    • cdzendolet says:

While Bill Snyder is an excellent coach, and gets the most out of under the radar players, they lost a lot – A LOT – of production on their offense, and it is really hard to see us losing to them this year. Granted, I didn’t think last year would end up the way it would either, but without Waters and Lockett, I think OU wins big against KSU this year.

      • Eric Hoffpauir says:

Exactly. They lost some of their best on defense, too. I mean, it’s always possible that we could lose, but I can’t see us managing to beat TCU and then turn around and lose to KSU.

      • Stephen Dale says:

playing in Manhattan hasn’t been easy for OU in recent years. Injuries , attitude, focus can diminish any advantage and level the playing field. that said , CDZENdolet, I tend to agree if OU plays ‘with a chip on its shoulder’ .

        • MrBigsby says:

hasn’t the visiting team won like 4 in a row in this series? Something like that anyway.

        • Jeremy Phillips says:

We’ve kicked their ass in Manhattan the last 2 trips..

          • Soonerfandave84 says:

just because the cumulative score of the last two in Manhattan is 99 – 48 doesnt mean anything πŸ˜‰

          • Mysterio1 says:

Play smart and no turnovers. You can’t give Snyder or any good coach points.

        • Brad Warren says:

Seriously? Of course it’s not “easy” just ask Auburn. But, can’t remember the last time we lost there??? Now we’ve lost last 2 to them in Norman – gave both away – but we’ve owned them in Manhattan.

    • SoonerfanTU says:

To clarify…..I’m not saying it isn’t possible for OU to lose to KSU. I just don’t see us losing to KSU AND beating the other teams the guy had us beating. It just didn’t seem like the right mix of win’s and losses. If OU is good enough to beat those three teams I noted, we’ll be good enough to beat at least one of KSU/OSU on the road. JMO.

    • Brad Warren says:

      You’re fired!

  • Eric Hoffpauir says:

Remember when Quincy Russell transferring in and qualifying was the only way that our defensive line would manage to stop the run or rush the QB?

    • Brad Warren says:

Yes. He was our savior. Came in out of shape and could never get on the field. On the other hand, a very nice young man. Wish him all the best. He actually got his degree from OU after being released from team so good for him.

    • soonermusic says:

and “losing out” on Justin Manning was the absolute end of the world.

  • j l says:

Said knight was gonna win the job for 6+ months now, and im sticking with that prediction. May as well go with the incumbent if option 2 is just as turnover prone.

Craig james is a grade A douche. Do people remember a couple years ago when boise was undefeated and ranked top 5, and he had them ranked like 23rd? Really, really hate that guy.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Since there is very little info on how they practiced through Spring, all we have are the two Spring games. Clearly, Baker was much better in 2014 and a little better in 2015. The only basis for Knight starting has been BM shoulder. Their turnovers were not equal by the way. Knight threw picks that cost games. Doesn’t it make since that Baker would get the lean due to among other things L Riley tried to get him to EC before he chose OU? Now they are both at OU=see NewsOK article.

      • j l says:

Look at mayfields game history. He throws a LOT of picks, and he fumbles a lot.
He had more turnovers in 8 games in 2013 than knight did in 10 games last year.

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Brett Favre had many turnovers, but won a title and a lot of games. I see Baker as kind of like Favre. Knight couldn’t bring us back into games, 3 and out, 3 and out. Even with the pick against TCU, Boykin and the RB each fumbled…and Knight couldn’t move us.

          • Krys Allen says:

“Knight couldn’t move us”… correction, the offense couldn’t move us. Knight can’t throw to himself, or hand off to himself, or kick the field goals himself, or call the plays. It wasn’t a one man show.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Yes, there were drops, and the WR’s couldn’t separate. But there were multiple high throws. We need a L Jones, who even with a few interceptions, has the ability to fight back and move the offense in order to win a game. Knight has had two impressive games K St on the road and Bama. If he wins the job great, but it shouldn’t be handed to him because Mayfield has a sore shoulder. Knight isn’t good enough. I want victories, not stupid pick sixes on national TV.

          • j l says:

If baker was so much better, he would have won the job in the spring or summer. That works both ways.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Maybe he did. Not sure. Stoops only hinted that Thomas was behind both. We should know who is getting first team reps in a few weeks.

          • j l says:

            Not soon enough =)

          • j l says:

Who besides shepard did he have to throw to last year? Now compare that to the WR group that mayfield had in 2013. Amaro, jakeem grant, ward, marquez.

All 4 of those guys had more catches than any sooner not named shepard did last year.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Well, I guess Mayfield is better at reading the defense and spreading the ball around then.

          • j l says:

It sure helps when guys can actually get open…and when pass plays besides a bubble screen are called.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Okay, so you’re blaming JH and WR depth. We’ll see. But go watch the Spring game this year and ask yourself, where has Knight actually shown improvement?

          • j l says:

He didnt look much improved in the spring game, ill give you that.

You dont think there was a single issue with heupel, and our WR group?

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

No. I agree with you, it was a combo of things. I hope one or both of these guys can give us what Ohio St got last year.

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

          Playing for Taco Tech.

        • Malicong says:

That was also two years ago as a true freshman walkon on a team that is not nearly as talented. He could still possibly be that kind of player, but he is in a different situation now.

          • j l says:

Compare tech’s 2013 WR group to ours from last year, and tell me again how mayfield had to work with a less talented group.

          • Malicong says:

My comparison wasn’t about Mayfield on last years offense, it is about Mayfield in this years offense. And yes, OU has more talent on offense this year than Tech did 2013. That includes the whole offense, not just the few catching passes. The o-line plays a big part in fumbles and a good running game can cut down on DB’s sitting on routes waiting for a pick.

          • j l says:

Our talent level for 2015 vs tech in 2013? ya probably.

2014? i dont think so. They had 3 receivers with more catches in 2013 than our #1 receiver in shepard had in 2014.

          • Malicong says:

Oklahoma’s recievers last year were terrible. The offense as a whole was disfunctional for stretches outside of the power running game. I am not lobbying for either player and I actually think everything that has happened with BOTH QB’s in the past won’t matter much with Knight in this new system and Mayfield gaining maturity and a better over talent upgrade.

          • j l says:

I agree that there is a ton of changes that have been made, and the past is not necessarily an indicator of whats gonna happen here.

I just know its hard to unseat an incumbent unless you are obviously the better option. Im not so sure mayfield is. We shall see.

      • j l says:

9 picks and 9 fumbles in 8 games for mayfield
Knight 12 picks 2 fumbles in 10 games

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

It’s apple and oranges. Baker was a freshman playing on a bad Taco Tech team. Let’s take out the bad for both and talk about the good. Baker won the same freaking award that Perine won. Further, we saw how Knight played in the Spring game. Baker threw two picks, but he also completed 11-14 passes or so… and 9 for 9 in 2014. May the best man win, but Knight cost US…Baker hasn’t done that.

          • Krys Allen says:

            “Knight cost US… Baker hasn’t”
If that is your measuring stick, then Cody or the walk on should start.. IMO Knight is starting and we wont see BM unless Knight has a melt down. One thing that did intrigue me about the whole situation was Cody Thomas’ high school flim… He looked completely different than what we saw last year, if he can put it together he might be better than both the others.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Read the other comments. Plus I mentioned the Spring game performances, plus the fact that LR recruited him to EC. Baker was a freshman winning awards and yes, turning the ball over. Knight was a sophomore with one year experience turning the ball over in crucial times. So, no, that’s not the only basis for Baker starting.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Another OU commentator suggests that Coach has elevated both Baker and Knight above Thomas per his comments at the Big 12 media days.

          • SoonerGoneEast says:

            I would agree.

          • paganpink says:

You make a good point about Thomas. Which lends some credence to the folks that believe the Offensive coaches and our game plan were helping our opponents not our QB’s! He may be a whole different person when put into a position to succeed. It appeared that he wasn’t even sure of what play we were giving him- which is to be expected when you change it only seconds before the play clock expires. Some of the worst clock management OU has ever shown was done under Heupel, and he deserved to be fired for that alone, in my opinion, when he KEPT doing it in game after game.

          • Bob Edwards says:

You are correct sir. Go back and watch some Perine highlights. You will see him looking at the sideline when the ball is snapped. Lot of talent in that kid to still make a big play. I can see how a QB would have trouble making reads if he only has two seconds to think about what the play is going to be.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

But Bob, L Jones under JH, set records didn’t he?

          • Boom says:

            Any championships?

          • Bob Edwards says:

Well most of Jones records were related to the fact that he played in 52 games in his career. Half of those were under Kevin Wilson. His production went down slightly after Wilson left. So not sure how much credit to give JH for the records.

          • paganpink says:

It just seems like even our game planning became much worse the last few years under Heupel. I’m not laying everything on him, but we used to come out with game plans that surprised opponents and were effective as long as we followed them. That all seemed to go away the last couple of years aside from the one wonderfully planned and executed game against Alabama.

          • Bob Edwards says:

I would suggest that what you are describing is the result of JH fully implementing his “system.” He seemed to come up with some brilliant game plans, but if they didn’t work he seemed unable to adjust on the fly. As people figured out what he was doing, they took advantage of that.

          • Sooner 76 says:

You’re almost there, Bob. When the QBs were performing, I thought that Josh’s play calling was excellent. However, what happened was that Josh became tentative in his play calling when the QB, who ever it was–Knight, Bell, or Thomas–wasn’t making the throws. No passes were called in the last 4 possessions of the osu game. for example.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Well the other way of looking at it is that, when JH was calling plays well the quarterback had a chance to show their stuff. But when he was off it made the QB’s tentative. One of the top twenty all time winning percentage coaches seems to have thought that way, he got rid of JH.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Since you only have talked about how Knight’s turnovers are not as worse as Baker’s, I’d like to know why you think Knight should start? Go back and study 2013-2014…In a two-year sample, Knight is below OU standards as a QB. You have to go all the way back to Nate Hybl to find a QB comparable stat wise. Even Bomar was more consistent. I hope one of the three plays great. But assuming Knight should have the job has no basis in objectivity.

          • Boom says:

One question for you D Hunter. If Mayfield throws a pic6 to lose the Tennessee game, what are your thoughts then.
QBs throw interceptions and pic6s. Ask Manning/Brady/Farve. s.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I would say bring in Knight. But it’s a hypothetical.

          • Soonerfandave84 says:

I’m not a Brett Favre historian but I can remember him throwing a lot of bad INTs

          • Boom says:

My point and he’s a first ballot HOF.

          • Boom says:

OK, so if Manning/Brady do the same, will you bench them too. Trust me, they will throw an interceptions. I’m taking up for QB’s, not just Knight. QBs get to much credit both ways. I’m not arguing for Knight, but until your been behind center, you will never know.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

I am not arguing whether a Qb throws INTS. It is the ratio to TDS that is important. Bradford 50-8….Jones etc…Knight is what 21-19 in two years? I say time to give the job to someone else. But I am not the coach. I’ll support whoever the QB is as I’ve done since 72.’

          • j l says:

We werent running the same offense as we have been the last 15 years the last 2 years.

Notice how our rushing stats are the highest they have ever been under stoops?

Bomar was more consistent? he had a passer rating of 110. Knight was 125. And knight had far better rushing stats.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

We can dispute which stats mean more all day. TD-Int ratio is most important.

          • j l says:

Knight was 14-12. Bomar was 10-10. Knight was better than bomar by every measurable statistic.
Knight had better completion %(not by much), better TD-INT, better yards per carry, better yards per attempt.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Okay, my bad. Knight has been better (slightly) than Bomar. Still my point stands. He is the least consistent other than Bomar since Hybl…12 years…now…Why are you putting all your eggs on Knight?

          • MoJoOkie says:

It will be very interesting to see whoever QBs the new system. I think very few of us really believe that Knight enjoyed the best conditions last year. One reliable receiver (until he went down), hurt part of the year, and a coaching staff that was afraid to let him run a full offense because of the backup situation. A new scheme, better WR play, and at least a warm body or two for backups might change things dramatically.

          • Bob Edwards says:

I think there are enough questions regarding the situation each of the QB’s found themselves in to question whether we have seen them at their best. I think the competition really is wide open. The next two or three weeks will be what makes the difference.

          • MoJoOkie says:

I’ll buy that to an extent. But I think Knight’s situation may have been a little more dire than Mayfield’s. At the very least, I think Baker may have enjoyed a more friendly system.

          • Bob Edwards says:

What I have learned over the years is that success is a combination of the abilities that a person has, the mental makeup that allows them to get the most out of their abilities, and the situation they find themselves in.

In the case of football you can measure physical abilities (strength, speed, etc.) the other two are harder to measure. In the case of our QB’s we have proof that all can be successful under the right circumstance (for Thomas in HS). All are in different circumstances now. The also have probably grown or regressed in their mental makeup. If I could measure and predict the outcomes of those changes, I would be rich right now. How many teams do you think would pay me $1,000,000/yr to analyze their recruits and current players and tell you which ones were going to succeed?

In the end, none of us know for certain who will succeed. But it can be fun to go along for the ride.

          • j l says:

Im not necessarily. People hate last season, and justifiably so, but knight gets scapegoated for an entire team underperforming.

They want last seasons taste out of their mouth so bad, and they associate knight with the suckage.

When you get past that, knight still has a chance to be a pretty decent QB.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

            Fair enough.

          • EasTex says:

For some time now you have failed to exhibit objectivity on the QB matter, promoting Baker as the only choice.
When Baker threw a ridiculous interception into triple coverage in the spring game, you claim he is a “riverboat gambler” like Favre.
When Knight got picked off in the spring game by a fantastic diving catch by Ahmad Thomas, you claimed he made a terrible throw.
It’s clear you have a personal choice and you are not being objective about it.
For me, the only thing that matters is what the coaches decide to do before the first kick off. All the ruminations and speculation is tiring.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

You know what’s tiring? Multiple pick sixes. Now that’s tiring. What do you want? I’ve said, may the best QB win and do well. This is an open post isn’t it?

          • EasTex says:

Actually, it’s the news daily thread and for me speculation on issues that are beyond our control is not only tiring, it gives me fatigue.

          • soonermusic says:

You can’t judge a qb in a vacuum. The supporting cast is crucial to evaluating. If receivers miss a few plays, the qb will soon been forcing passes that he shouldn’t or holding the ball too long.; the line doesn’t do its job, any qb is going to display more inconsistency than he would with solid protection. Same with a decent running game, as we have seen in other years. It all makes a difference. Similarly, you can’t blame a loss on one interception when there were several other plays that could easily have won the game as well. Did the pick 6 in the KState game cost us the game, when TK came immediately back out and went the length of the field in two terrific plays to get the points back? All depends on your bias. IMHO, the decision will be based upon how the coaches view TK’s or BM’s ability to be consistent and reliable in the new system and not upon past performances that can be viewed in any number of ways.

          • boomersooner says:

Exactly. Anybody can lay blame anywhere. I look at it as 1 yd(why no sneak, instead of making a rb try to get 7 yds for 1 yd of credit and not chipping the edges), miss chipshot fg, and bad repunt(not decision). Some people wanna say tk should get all the blame for throwing an int that happened to get returned for a td. Seems a little short sighted. Did the pick 6’s help our cause? No. Were they the only reason we lost? Obviously not since like you pointed out tk went right back out and got the points back

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Disagree. Every coach knows turnovers are the key to winning and losing. That is why Stoops has been so harsh on RBS who put the ball on the ground. C’mon, how long have you been watching the game? You know the coach speak…”Win the turnover battle…Don’t turn the ball over…” Pick six versus TCU, K St, Baylor (well taken to the one- yard line, a virtual pick six). In other words, while bad play calls cost you series, a turnover gives the other team the ball, and puts your defense in a hole. I am for giving both QBS a shot.

          • boomersooner says:

You can disagree til you’re blue in the face. It doesn’t change the fact that if we pick up 1 yd, hit a chipshot fg, and have a better repunt, we more than likely only have 1 loss and a bunch of confidence going into bowl season. Everybody here knows you’re over tk. We get it. But late in the games, if these 3 things happen, we’re probably not having this conversation

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Okay. I’ll shut it down on Knight. I want to be fair. But Ji talked about the incumbent should keep his job…that’s just dumb.

          • boomersooner says:

It could be, at face value. He may be threading needles in practice. We just don’t know. Baker missing several wks with deadarm don’t help his case. I’m just excited to sit back and enjoy the ride with the boys and you folk on here

          • Sooner 76 says:

You make excellent points. Throw out the interception and Knight played pretty well in the K-State game. However, if you at other games, you often Jeckel and Hyde. In the Sugar Bowl, the OU offense scored 24 points in the 1st half and 7 in the 2nd. Against TCU, excellent first half, but no points after the TD to open the 2nd half.

Knight has the most upside–the most physical talent–IMO, but also the most scary downside.

          • Sooner 76 says:

Two big differences: 1) Nate started with an injury- and graduation-depleted OL and ended his OU career with a pretty good OL; and 2) Nate showed steady improvement, winning POG award for both the Big XII CCG and the Rose Bowl.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

True. Hybl did win a bowl game and a Big 12 title.

          • WilliamJack says:

Agree with both of those points. Cody’s HS film looks completely different. Don’t know what changed.

            Just sayin…But best man win.

          • Lincoln Hawk says:

They were playing in two different offenses, so to me that is apples and oranges. This is probably a better conversation 20 days from now.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Yeah perhaps we’re jumping the gun a bit. But it’s time for OU football.

          • j l says:

Want to know why mayfield won freshman of the year? He was the 1st true freshman walk to ever start for a power 5 team. It sure wasnt his play vs opponents with a pulse.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

            The same opponents we played.

          • j l says:

SMU, stephen f austin, texas state? Some real powerhouses there.

Mayfield was 2-3 vs big 12 opponents, and didnt hit a 130 passer rating against any of them.

    • Jed says:

I recall something about CJ and some hookers; back during his playing days. Can anyone elucidate?

  • Jeremy Phillips says:

Does TFB have any kind of breakdown on the new walk on QB, Reece Clark? He had accepted a preferred walk on spot with Baylor & then decided to come to Norman instead..

  • GreginDestin says:

Although everyone can scoff, I think OU goes 12-0 with very narrow wins over Baylor, TN, and OSU. Wins over TCU and KSU will be decisive, i.e., more than 9 points. November 2015 will be a replay of October 2000. By the time OU takes the field in Waco on Nov 14th, they will be 9-0 with their defense capable of holding every opponent under 31. That will be enough…

      I like your attitude.

      • John Garner says:

Me too. But beating Baylor in Waco will be super tough. We’re going to have score bunches.

        • CS says:

They do have a new QB so I wouldn’t necessarily say that game will be super tough.

          • John Garner says:

You’re right they do, but he’ll be seasoned by the time they play us, plus Art Briles seems to clone QBs for his system. My other concern is Mike Stoops. Scheme-wise, he seemed lost last year. Maybe he has better personnel this season. Hope so. We’ll know for sure vs. Tennessee.

    • WilliamJack says:

Can’t argue with any of that. Can’t wait to get to Harry T’s on the harbor and watch the opener! Lots of Sooners down here on the Emerald Coast, BOOM!

    • Cush Creekmont says:

What you state is certainly possible. To me, the OSwho game is more likely to be the +9 than either TCU or KSU. if OU is that good by the last game of the season, the history (OU has more wins at T-Bone-Lewis-aggie field) and revenge factor will send them to a big win.

    • Stephen Dale says:

Greg………….you can get some good odds in Vegas on your prediction…………

    • Mysterio1 says:

I’m not as confident, I need to see these guys play. Still I would like nothing better for you to be right.

    • Brad Warren says:

I love the confidence and optimism. Boomer!

    • Jeff says:

Your not worried about the QB play?????

      • Boom says:

        Nope

      • boomersooner says:

You and your kind are the only ones that worry about things out of their control. Try and say something nice about someone or something, you might like it

        • Boom says:

Astros are on a roll. Been watching and they have some hitters. I’m in Houston so i catch a game every now and then

          • boomersooner says:

They look awesome. The ss is already real good. If he continues working, he could be one of the best ever. Good pickups by em too

          • Boom says:

SS is off the charts and hit 2 dingers last night or the night before against Dbacks. Played Rangers last night, didn’t get to see it but if pitching holds out, they may do alright this year.

          • boomersooner says:

Yeah they’ve got a shot. Should make the playoffs. All you need is a chip and a chair

        • Jeff says:

          Your a good guy??

          • boomersooner says:

1st of all, it’s you’re. 2nd, I never said I was a good guy. 3rd, people like you are pointless. You bring absolutely zero to a conversation or have an original thought enter your brain. Until you figure out how to act, take your tired act elsewhere

        • ND52 says:

Have you ever gone a day in your life without being offended and outraged @disqus_BeW3hegp9d:disqus?

          • boomersooner says:

I don’t get offended meat. Move on with your life

          • boomersooner says:

It’s funny…no make that really sad, that you find the need, many hrs after the fact, to troll

          • Double G says:

I don’t post on here often (my work blocks my ability to comment), but I do read every day. Just wanted to say that while I get that Jeff doesn’t often have positive things to say, I will agree with ND52 that you have been rather angry lately. I don’t remember you being that way when I first discovered this website back in 2013, so what happened?

If you don’t like people who spew negativity without facts, I’m with you, but try to take some of the venom out of it. It’s not necessary and frankly adds a sour note to what is otherwise an awesome place to discuss and/or read about OU football – something we all LOVE.

I guess what I’m trying to say is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MixNh9L7G5M

          • boomersooner says:

You’re right. I can’t stand it. But mostly just trying to turn the tables on trolls. There’s no possible way some of these people are fans. You can’t just tear something down day after day post after post and claim to like or love it. I didn’t have the honor of growing up in Oklahoma or going to OU but I’ve loved em over 30+ yrs ever since I could start remembering stuff. I’m a positive person and will disagree with people but the venom comes out when it seems someone is just repeatedly taking shots at something I love. I can try to tone it down. I’m really an easy going laughing quite often type person with no worries but it’s kinda like that “don’t make fun of family unless you’re family” type thing. Thanks for the kind words

Edit:an ignore button would be awesome for a guy like me

          • Double G says:

No worries brother, when someone insults MY SOONERS I feel the same way!!! I can’t say that I am always a saint when it comes to controlling my venom either (depending on which nerve gets hit with unwelcome commentary).
For me, I live through every game with the team – to the point that I actually get nervous on game days like I used to when I played football in high school. Sweaty palms, elevated pulse, the whole nine yards! My wife tells me that I might as well be getting ready to run onto the field for how amped up I get on game days, but I just can’t help it. OU football is a part of who I am.
I wasn’t born an Okie either (I’m a military brat), but Oklahoma will always be home for me. I’ve loved Sooner football ever since my dad started watching them play again in 2000 (the 1990s were too painful for him to watch). I can still remember sitting around the TV in the living room with him and my brother, cheering as we watched Bob Stoops return the Sooners to the level of football glory that, in the eternal words of the King, “OU invented”.
I’m confident you’ll try your best to tone it down when people start getting negative and if it starts to get the better of you again, I promise I’ll be there with a Snickers to help you regain your composure as long as you promise to do the same for me ;). BOOMER SOONER!!!

          • ND52 says:

Lol! @disqus_BeW3hegp9d:disqus So says the guy who posts here every_single_freaking_day

          • boomersooner says:

What in the world does that have to do with you being a troll? If you’re looking for a friend, try elsewhere

          • ND52 says:

Do you not remember your previous comment? And why is your profile private? Just what in the world are you trying to hide from us @disqus_BeW3hegp9d:disqus ?

          • boomersooner says:

Worry about yourself. The world will be a much better place. Anyway…BOOMER!

    • CS says:

I agree with the narrow wins part, we have been on the wrong side A LOT last year, so based on the law of equal odds, we should end up on the winning side some this year. But, I am not sure about the 12-0, we still might end up with couple of losses, still a great year.

  • Malicong says:

“Should Texas leave the Big XII” article is as a self-absorbed POS article as someone can write. I think the writer forgets that the grant of rights that Texas signed would extend to near the end of the LHN so it wouldn’t help that cause at all. Never mind the fact that the remaining Big XII schools in the state would probably not jump at the chance to play Texas every year. The LHN was a horrible mistake that would only be compounded by Texas leaving the Big XII.

    • ccmosaic says:

I really wish they would though. If Texas jumped to be an independent we could head off to the SEC with Kansas and the Big 12 would be history.

      • Cush Creekmont says:

Boren wants the BI6, but if saxet pulled that, Boren might get his chance.

        • Bob Edwards says:

I think that Boren wants OU in a real conference. When DeLoss Dodds was the AD at Texas we seemed to be able to work together for both our benefit. The new AD seems to have pissed Boren off like he has everyone else. Boren is giving notice to the rest of the B-12 that its going to be fixed, or its going to be the Big-12 -2 -1

      • Malicong says:

I think I am in the minority, but I don’t want OU to move to the SEC. Has less to do with competition than a total lack of respect on my part for virtually everything the SEC does and represents.

    • SoonerGoneEast says:

IMO, the only reason Texas hasn’t went independent is because they don’t know if the could produce a competitive schedule year in and year out. Once the BIG XII dissolves, and it would, not only could they find themselves in a position of not being able to provide a compelling schedule for their fanbase and the networks, but they might just eliminate their third, lone remaining rivalry game in the process.

  • Bob Edwards says:

Two more days and we can talk about what the actual players are doing rather than the mythical ones that people make up in their heads.

    • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Can we? Open practices are back now? Or do we have to rely on spies or hearsay? Well, at least with TFB it’ll be reliable witnesses.

      • Bob Edwards says:

We will get some info from various sources. It’s certainly better than sitting around speculating about how someone is going to play based on what they did two years ago against SMU, on a different team, with different coaches and different teammates.

        • D Hunter Sanchez says:

No question. The QB job and OT positions are intriguing. This is the time starting positions will be solidified. I’m intrigued about Striker and Bond in a 3-4 scheme. We need pressure from Tapper this year as well.

          • Bob Edwards says:

Well the OL is actually more interesting than the QB race to me. I think we have three serviceable QB’s. Not great, but serviceable. Still, in the Air Raid, QB’s typically put up gaudy numbers and get labeled “system” QB’s.

The OLine is of more concern because it effects both the running and the passing game. A decent running game will cure lots of ills on offense. Without Perine and the Oline last year we are a complete dumpster fire on offense.

As for the DL, a lot of the teams we are playing now are quick release spread teams. Not going to get a lot of penetration and sacks against those if they get the ball out quickly. Sacks will go up if the DB’s can cover better and force the opposing QB to go to a second or third target.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

That was the issue against Baylor. Quick release. Simply stated, we have to cover at the LOS and get solid safety play over the top.

          • Randy says:

Why I want guys like Cameron Brown or Teton Saltes at OLB.. Maybe Austin Roberts or Dalton Rodriguez can be them not this year but next year.

          • Stephen Dale says:

            BE———–good points…………

          • Defend Colfax says:

That’s the man reason I wasn’t too down on Tapper or the Dline last year. While their play wasn’t great, with the large cushions from the corners they never had a chance.

          • Jeff says:

OU has 2 QB that are injury prone so very worried both won’t finish the season, Cody better be ready to play

  • WilliamJack says:

Glad to have Reese Clark as a walk-on QB. Watch his film: http://www.ncsasports.org/football-recruiting/tx/cypress/cypress-woods-high-school/reece-clark1
Reminds me of Bradford. Pro style, has nice touch on the ball.

    • EasTex says:

What I like best about taller QBs, like Reese, in the Air Raid is the fact that they can see over the middle so well. I can guarantee we will see lots of middle blitzes this year from WVU, BU and TCU.

      • SoonerGoneEast says:

Which is what I’ve always believed has helped contribute to Knights INT problems. At 6’1″ there’s so much you can’t see developing from behind the hog mollies.

        • SoonerOracle737 says:

And probably why he throws better on rollouts.

        • Mysterio1 says:

I’ve always preferred a taller QB with just a bit of wiggle. One reason that I would like for Cody Thomas to win this job.
I’m really hoping his throwing has improved.

          • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Right now he appears to be running third according to Stoops commits at Big 12 media.

      • D Hunter Sanchez says:

Then we’ll roll right hit an inside receiver or Mixon coming across the middle for a 40 yard gain.

  • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

It must be football season this week. Everyone is getting into game mode

    • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

I’m intimidated by the conversations. Everyone is like stats this and analysis that. I’m on my end like, “Football good. Me like OU.”

      • Bob Edwards says:

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.

      • cdzendolet says:

Same here – I have been learning more and more about the x’s and o’s of the game for some time now, but when people start bringing things up like 2-technique, and 40jack or whatever, then my head starts to spin. I might be there one day, though.

        • KJ1123 says:

X’s and O’s are fun sometimes (when you’re playing madden) but in the end Football is still the same, it’s who is going to physically lineup and beat the snot out of the guy across from them. Imo it’s better to be an evaluator of talent than someone who watches Grudens QB camp.

          • cdzendolet says:

I guess where I lose it is in the evaluation of the recruits. I think that requires a far more in-depth knowledge of technique, rather than a general football IQ.

          • KJ1123 says:

That’s true, there’s definitely the ol “pass the eye test” approach. But knowing the little nuisances of each position helps.

        • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

TFB has been a good start for me. There have been a few occasions when I’ve repeated somethings I’ve read on here to my wife to try and impress her. Details run together:

“Yeah, babe. See the d-end crashes on the RB, and so the QB keeps the ball and tries to get the edge while interest rates are low and the Dow is on the rise.”

          • Bob Edwards says:

            Maybe this will help. πŸ™‚
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNxLxTZHKM8

          • cdzendolet says:

Reading the conversations here have definitely given me some insight, but I knew I was still way behind in my knowledge last year at the Tennessee game. An old navy buddy of mine came to Norman with me to go to the game (he is a huge Tennessee fan), and he was calling plays pretty much as they were happening, and explaining certain things to me that I couldn’t see unless I studied film. A couple times when OU crashed the backfield, or got a sack on their QB, without even seeing a replay, he was saying that the DT had a double team, and the DE rolled around behind and took the open space in the middle. I was pretty impressed he was able to see that kind of stuff in real time – I just saw a mess of big bodies flying around.

          • Jed says:

Amateur! You failed to anticipate the forex movement relative to the nickel and whether the reserve would therefore shift to defend a possible Chinese Bandit.

            Uh. Me like OU! πŸ™‚

  • Krys Allen says:

Who is the walk on shifty Wes Welker type kid… anyone remember a name?

    • Sooner 76 says:

      Walkon WRs are:

      Ezel McIntee 82
      (RS Fr) WO
Nick Basquine 83 (RS Fr) WO
Grant Bothun 84 (RS Jr) WO

      Eric DeLay 88 (Fr) WO
      Lee Morris 86 (Fr) WO
and the new guy Jarvis Baxter xx (Jr) WO

      • Krys Allen says:

Yup Lee Morris… thats the one. Took a preffered walk on at OU over other scholarship offers. Heard hes acutally pretty legit.

  • Randy says:

I would recruit and scheme a defense to play this line up every week no matter if it was in the ACC, Big 12, SEC it doesn’t matter you can adjust (just like offenses do) to play a specific offense like Arkansas, or Navy etc..

Again this is a offensive line up than you recruit defensive players to help slow down..

    QB- Trevone Boykin
RB – Shock Linwood OR Samaje Perine
    OWR – KD Cannon
    IWR – Tre’Von Armstead (6’6 270) OR Sterling Shepard
    IWR – Corey Coleman
    OWR – Josh Doctson

    O Line prediction:

    LT O.Brown -Evans
    LG J.Danley -Alvarez
    C TY – Dalton
    RG Nila -Alvarez
    RT St. John -Samia/Farniok

This is what I think the rotation may look like by the end camp.

    • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

I’m really excited to see how Evans progresses early. Wondering what he’s weighing in at now.

      • KJ1123 says:

I hear hes in the 290s mid to high. Hes gone through all winter and summer workouts without any issues, looking forward to seeing the OL battles in camp.

        • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

Oklahoma Drill. Where boys become men and men become monsters. To hear those blessed pads collide? Glory, glory, hallelujah.

    • JR says:

      I would counter with

      LT St John – Mittermeier
      LG Alvarez – Paul
      C Darlington – Dalton
      RG – Kasitati – Ford
      RT – Danley – Farniok

Could be wrong and I think it is very fluid but just see Danley being moved to RT for this season at least at the beginning of the season.

    • Daryl says:

Pretty much the same. I really want to see Dalton and Ford get on the field. Watching their film is like watching a Tarantino film. AKA just violent to the max. I want that kind of nasty on the field.

      LT O.Brown -Evans
      LG J.Danley -Alvarez
      C TY – Dalton
      RG Nila -Ford
      RT St. John -Frison

      • KJ1123 says:

Yeah I’m not sure about where Ford is at in this. That is whether or not he is looking at taking a RS year. I know a few of the incoming lineman are, Evans and Samia aren’t planning on Redshirting, Cody could be another too.

  • Daryl says:

Random Question to TFB and to the masses. As i was reading hoov’s piece I continue to be excited about the reality of all the DB’s being in one room and hearing one voice. But it seems that we have just moved that problem over to the LB’s. How do you guys feel about this?

    • Bob Edwards says:

I am not as concerned about it. For one thing I think Mike not really coaching LB’s as much as he is coaching the “hybrid” guys. The combo DE/LB’s or LB/S’s. He seems to like to play with those kind of players on defense so he can disguise what he is doing. I think that is where he is tinkering with the D. But what do I know?

      • Boom says:

Also, I feel he is assessing their abilities of what they can/can’t do. This will help with the different packages and their responsibility.
My hope is our LBs have a better understanding of their drops/reads and taking lanes away.

      • JD says:

Yeah hopefully he puts the disguise in attack mode

        • Bob Edwards says:

Part of me wonders if what happened last year was that Bob lost so much confidence in the offense that he became less aggressive on D because he didn’t think he could win a shootout. So he started backing off and trying to slow things down. It explains a lot of the things that happened last year, like the Baylor game and why he flushed the O staff instead of the D. Just speculation on my part though.

          • JD says:

When Shep went out the O was less consistent so you could be right…we also were very young on the back end and I bet Bob and Mike neither had faith at safety (even though Hayes was back there) and Wilson wasn’t as good of a true cb as he was a nickel plus Sanchez is notorious for getting beat on double moves…seems like all of that put together made them play it conservative

          • RocketCitySooner says:

            Particularly once Sheppard went down.

    • Eric Hoffpauir says:

Didn’t we usually have this LB arrangement under Venables?

      • JD says:

yes BV made the NB a staple in his backer crew and one safety seemed to be a cbsafety hybrid as well

Is enrolling early going to become the norm? It sure seems headed that way…also glad to see he is taking care of his school work.

      • Bob Edwards says:

It certainly helps a kid who wants to play early in college. Having a full spring practice and summer work outs before your first season can make a big difference when it comes to playing as a freshman.

    • hOUligan says:

Once this kid got that commitment out he has been en fuego…txting recruits, watching the 2000 OU NC game at 2am, making another trip to Norman this past weekend and now this. Love it when a guy shows this much enthusiasm. Hope he has a great career at OU and makes the most of his opportunities.

    • Cush Creekmont says:

      Love this young guy’s attitude!

    • Daryl says:

It is so funny how every school seems to have players having some kind of issue in the NFL. With Sooners in the NFL it seems to be injury, but with cowboys it is WR’s going nuts once they get to the league. So odd.

OK Slow day. No OP. Lets just do some predictions.
Season record. I’ll start it with 9-3.

    • EasTex says:

I predict Cullen Bohannon finds his wife and son on the final episode of Hell On Wheels.

      • KJ1123 says:

I predict Glenn finally gets killed off Walk Dead.

        • Fear The Magic says:

I predict Katy Perry will have Baker Mayfields love child in September of 2016.

        • Zack says:

Nah not Glenn he’s too cool to die in the show.

          • BleedCrimson says:

Yeah, Glenn is one of my favorites. I think they feel the need for the romance relationship of Glenn and Maggie. Could be wrong, but think that the group kind of looks at them as a future for humanity.

          • Zack says:

I think so too. I think it’s possible someone else will die in his place. They’ve done a lot of deaths the same as the comics but others have been flip flopped.
I think they will want to keep that core of characters simply because of how popular they are and the following they have at the comic con events.

        • Stats says:

TWD may lose a major character, but I predict season 6 will deal more with the Alexandrians. A couple of them will develop into more supporting and major characters, and some (several) of them will be killed. Full disclosure: I’ve read the books a couple season past the show. It may seem like it at times, but it doesn’t slow down. The OMG’s continue. Can’t wait; almost like football season.

          • Cam says:

What’s your opinion on Fear The Walking Dead? I’ll watch it, but as of right now i’m not excited about it.

          • Stats says:

If Kirkman and the producers of the original show have put in a serious effort and have a strong influence, I believe it will be good. However, if they’ve just thrown something together to feed off the popularity, it will die a quick death. From the little I’ve heard, they’ve worked to make this a worthy complement. So I’m looking forward to it with cautious optimism.

      • Fear The Magic says:

        Bold prediction there ET.
See? Prediction threads can be fun!

      1) more wins than losses……..2) there will be tv cameras trained on mstoops catching him going nuts in the coaches booth

    • Zack says:

11-2. Losses at Baylor and TBD

    • Stephen says:

Dede Westbrook has a better season than Shepard.
The freshman find a way on the field.
10-3: losses to Baylor TCU and someone stupid on a bad Saturday.

      • Fear The Magic says:

Agree with you on Baylor and someone stupid but disagree on TCU. I think we beat them in Norman.

    • Robertson / Robertson 2016 says:

      (1) I predict the starting lineup finishes the season younger than when it started. Because the last two recruiting classes have been that good.

      (2) Mike Gundy, in a bizarre turn of events, publicly self-identifies as a woman.

      (3) We finally see some ESPN articles saying that the Charlie Strong experiment has been a failure.

    • Exiled In Ohio says:

Depends a lot on Tennessee game. We beat Tennessee, we go to Waco undefeated. Lose to Tennessee, could get ugly. Confidence and Mojo are indispensable at the college level.

      • Defend Colfax says:

Being a fan can get ugly but it’s always fun. I can feel college football around the corner and missing it during the dark parts of the year make it all worth the while. Win/lose/draw/ I’m ready, nobody likes losing but luckily enough we’re Sooners.

      • Fear The Magic says:

Totally agree with you. The Tennessee game will be a big monentum game one way or the other.

    • Dustin says:

      14-0. National Champions.

    • Stats says:

OU beats Baylor on 11/14/15. Please double check my stats, but at OU Stoops has rarely been beaten 2 years in a row (OSU ’01-’02, Tx ’05-06 & ’08-09, and Baylor ’13-14), and never been beaten 3 years in a row. A third loss would be unprecedented and depressing.

    • Birddawg says:

Lose big road test against the Vols.
      Rack up easy wins.
Beat the S*** out of Texas.. they quit.. go independent
Upset Bears carries momentum home to TCU
      Win big 12
      Invited to Playoffs
      Lose to Ohio St
2017 Ohio St becomes a playoff rematch
      Just a guess..

    • kt-raida says:

      undefeated surprise champion Sooners

  • Ryan says:

Did anyone see dude from Bleacher Report’s top 5 players in the big 12? Perine number 2. Number 5 was…Dom Alexander…? Am I the only one confused by that one? Lol

  • Matt says:

Does anyone remember what people inside the program were saying about Bradford before the ’07 season? Did they know that he would be an instant stud? How does the talk
around the program about the leading QB this offseason compare to then? I live
in College Station so I hear the Aggie hype all the time and I heard several
people within the program expect Manziel to be an instant stud even though he
was β€œin a battle” to be the starter before the ’12 season.

    • Defend Colfax says:

I think the biggest buzz around Bradford was that he was a supreme decision maker. All the hype I remember was about the last minute grab of Keith Nichol out of MI, who later transferred to Mich St.

    • Boomerborn79 says:

Jordan do you have any insight on all these realignment rumors on other sites?

      • Jordan Esco says:

I guess not. What are the rumors?

        • Boomerborn79 says:

Lol. If you haven’t heard anything then there’s no reason to cloud this board with rumors. I definately was hoping for some sort of hint something might be going on but oh well. Thanks for the response.

  • SoonerfanTU says:

Why do I seem to the be the only one concerned with the Texas game?

No, I don’t expect UT to be a particularly good team, but they should have a really, really good defense. And we all know that we easily could have lost to them last season. They should be equally good on D, and better on O. I know we all think OU is going to improve as well, and they should, but that game has all the makings for a close, low-scoring battle.

  • bjwalker82 says:

So, we’re gonna know the secret good news soon right?

  • RBear says:

    Can’t wait to see:

1- what LR does with our proven talent.

2- how LR mixes in the likes of Dede, Mighty Joe Mixon, Mark Andrews and even the new PWO Jarvis Baxter… weapons, weapons, weapons.

3- the O line step up to silence the pre-season critics.

Need to make sure my DVR is in good working order, the season starts in just one short month!

    BOOMER!!!

  • 47 Straight OU Know says:

Alright finally got caught up with work that I missed for two days refreshing this site last week. And just wanted to let everyone know It’s always a great day to be a SOONER!!!!!!

  • Walter Sobcek says:

I think OU drops a close one on the road at Knoxville, and trips up (again) at Baylor. 10-2, major bowl bound.

  • Walter Sobcek says:

Although he may not admit it, I think Stoops will view the Akron game as the determinant for which QB will start against Tennessee. If both K and M perform equally well, I believe K’s experience in big games will tip the call in his favor against Vols.

    • EasTex says:

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if what you say comes true.
I’m hoping for a big early lead so lots of young players get some game experience.

  • Cush Creekmont says:

I think there is no OP – and look what that has led to in our discussions. For the sake of humanity (or at least good taste) – Jordan make sure you have an early OP tomorrow πŸ™‚

  • KJ1123 says:

  • BleedCrimson says:

    G-Day minus 32
Some great ones have worn this number, but I believe the best is yet to come.

  • Kelsta says:

I’ve seen many comments by people saying it’s worst case scenario if TK is named starter week 1. I don’t understand this mentality. I believe most agree that BS will start the best QB(maybe TK gets the nod if it’s super tight). We’ve seen Mayfield in a similar offense so we already have a good idea where the bar is set. If TK is the starter, it means he is thriving in the new system.

I guess most people are looking at TK’s performance over the last two years and view that as ‘the bar’. We have a completely new offense and we’ve seen extremely average QB’s thrive in this system. We know he has the tools. To me, Mayfield’s performance as a freshman should be the bar or measure of potential with our new OC and the new system. If I draw any conclusions from who is named starter, I’d say it’s a good sign if TK or Thomas were selected over Mayfield.

    • Zack says:

I think knight will be the starter and I think he will do well. The game of his life was the sugar bowl and that game plan is probably the closest JH ran the last 2 year to what Riley will run

      • EasTex says:

I watched the 2014 RRS a few days ago. While the offense was seldom on the field in the first half and was ineffective when it was, suddenly in the second half the Sooners went up tempo and Knight marched them straight down the field for a TD. When he was freed from all the over thinking before each play and was allowed to just run the offense they came alive.
That is what I expect to happen with this new offense, they will go fast and play ball to their strengths. The old adage “think long, think wrong” was never more true than last year’s offense.

    • Lane Gilstrap says:

People are sick of TK poor decision making and up and down accuracy issues. Sure he could do well in a new offense just like Boykin, but what they and I want is a fresh face, a qb that’s not afraid of scrambling or making a bad pass.

      • Slim Sooner says:

I don’t care which QB runs the offense as long as it’s the one that wins games. None of them are perfect, but Riley seems confident we have enough talent to succeed. Coaches will make the right choice and it very well may be Trevor or Baker or even Cody or a walk on. I plan to support whomever and be grateful not to have to make the decision. Boomer.

        • Lane Gilstrap says:

Well regardless of who wins we won’t have any ill will against them. If TK is the starter I hope he wins every game.

          • Slim Sooner says:

Doesn’t make sense to hold I’ll will against our own guys who absolutely don’t want to disappoint fans, teammates, coaches or themselves. These are kids working hard to please and be successful. Different circumstances bring different results. This year is a whole new season, a new start. I can’t wait to get it going! If TK is the starter, I hope WE win every game, too.

      • boomersooner says:

Not as sick as we are of hearing how sick you guys are of a kid trying his damn best to make you people happy

        • Easton says:

You always bring the fire. And its refreshing. #realitycheck.

          • boomersooner says:

Haha. Thank you brother. Good seeing you around here again. Heat needs turning up. Probably get trolled tomorrow by nd52 and his cohorts when nobody sees their garbage. World needs cowards too I reckon

        • Lane Gilstrap says:

Looks like we are all sick then??

        • Lane Gilstrap says:

Such a shame him trying his damn best only got us 8-5 last year.

          • SamSooner says:

Trevor will be fine. No need to kick him while he’s down. Reach down, lend a hand, help him up.

          • Lane Gilstrap says:

I think he would make a great backup

          • SamSooner says:

He’s better than that. Yes, he made some mistakes but most of that is on Josh.

          • Exiled In Ohio says:

Well, obviously Oakman didn’t attend your charm school. He’s pretty big on hitting with a forearm shiver when you’re down.

          • SamSooner says:

Oakman, I don’t like thinking about that man. That was pathetic. I can only hope Briles dressed him down as soon as he could. But, I don’t think that happened.

          • Exiled In Ohio says:

I doubt it to. I just saw that play again yesterday, and got about as mad as I did when it first happened.

          • SamSooner says:

I hope Brown eats all of his lunch this fall. Brown or whoever is playing LT.

          • Exiled In Ohio says:

Me too. But I gotta confess I’m a tad fretful about that. Hopefully BB will come through with another great job.

          • SamSooner says:

The new O-Linemen have bad attitudes.

          • Exiled In Ohio says:

I’m hopeful, but is it OK if I worry just a little? If the line comes through, watch out!

          • SamSooner says:

Yes, worry away. You know how to do it and not impact those around you. You’re a pro. The next time I’m in Columbus, we have to get together. Drinks are on me.

          • Exiled In Ohio says:

            Sounds great!

          • EasTex says:

I think Frison is a fighter just waiting to be unleashed.

          • SamSooner says:

I agree. I forgot about Frison. I’m thinking about the players from the past three recruiting classes and I think OU is going to, painfully, surprise people.

          • EasTex says:

I watched the OL, all the different units, closely in the spring game. You can see how well coached they are. Farniok has improved so much it actually surprised me. Frison is not only aggressive, he is athletic and long. The only OL player that disappointed me was Alvarez, his lack of upper body strength when he got handled by Romar was obvious, which surprised me as he has had two years of prep with Smitty.

          • Tulsa Terry says:

I might be the only guy who thinks this is a breakout year for Christian Daimler at left tackle. I think he splits time with Derek but prevails when Big 12 play gets serious.

          • Sooner Ray says:

I think, as many others do, that this new offense will make things easier for the front men and give them time to gel.

          • SamSooner says:

I agree. Quick hits means you don’t have to hold blocks very long. But when they run it, they’ll grind your bones to dust. It’s going to be hard for teams to figure out how they’ll be blocked.

          • boomersooner says:

Briles reminds me of the preacher r lee ermey played on fletch 2. Just a piece of garbage who puts up a good front

          • Double G says:

Or a knee to the face well after the whistle (OUr QB wasn’t the only one he took a cheap shot at while he was down). Dude is a dirty player, period.

          • SamSooner says:

            Touche’.

          • boomersooner says:

Beats sitting in the stands judging him

      • Drew says:

Huh, I’d much rather have the best QB available, regardless who he is.

    • Jed says:

      You are an intelligent person!

  • BleedCrimson says:

I do not recall who it was that posted about Prairie Bomb beers. Just want to say thank you. I dropped by the liquor store and picked up a couple. Not normally a beer drinker, but they were tasty. In the fall football weather, they will be on the menu.

  • Zack says:

Curious why the offer to another LB. I assume we are taking 4 and I still think the potential good news this week is regarding Kelly. So I wonder if this offer is more because Jackson decided he’s going to wait until nsd

  • Sooner Ray says:

Watching a CMA music festival and thinking I miss real country music as much as I miss dominant OU kick you in the face, hang half a hundred on you football.

  • Jesse says:

Not sure how much to look into it but I like it.
