Just wanted to pass along a quick note about 2016 OL Parker Boudreaux (Orland, FL). As most of you know by now Boudreaux committed to Notre Dame yesterday. Oklahoma was included in his top five finalists along with Clemson, Georgia Southern, Florida and of course Notre Dame.
I had a chance to chat with Boudreaux’s father and it sounds like Oklahoma was a very real contender for Parker’s commitment. In fact Boudreaux’s father said it was a “tough decision”. He also said, “I love Oklahoma” but, according to him, the deciding factor between the two schools was simply their perception of the perks of the Notre Dame alumni base and academic prestige.
Boudreaux’s father added that Oklahoma is going to continue to recruit Parker and he did not shut the door on a possible official visit.
Coach Bedenbaugh deserves a pat on the back for the tremendous effort he made with Parker and his family. I know in this world people don’t get credit for getting second but in my estimation he absolutely deserves it. This was a national recruit out of Florida with no ties whatsoever to Oklahoma and had it not been for things outside of coach Bedenbaugh’s hands, I believe he would have landed Boudreaux.
Signing day is still a long time away and it’s pretty clear after talking to Boudreaux’s father that Oklahoma was definitively in the top two so I fully expect Oklahoma to continue to recruit Parker.
Rowdy Frederick
With Boudreaux committed I checked in with OK Preps star offensive lineman, Rowdy Frederick. He told me he is planning a trip to Texas Tech later this month. Frederick holds an offer from the Red Raiders. I asked where things stand between him and Oklahoma and he said that he communicates with coach Bedenbaugh on a regular basis. He said he wasn’t sure where things stand as far as a potential offer but it’s clear coach Bedenbaugh is working to maintain a good relationship with Frederick.

Proud of the OU fan base for keeping the crying to a minimum after the Boudreaux commitment to Notre Dame.
you just never know what these kids are looking at, that’s why I fail to panic during recruiting. Too many factors that go into a decision. Just show me the guys that want to be Sooners, and I’m good.
There’s no shame in losing a recruit to another traditional power. Especially one with the pedigree of Notre Dame.
Can u find out if Tyler Brown is still being recruited by OU. We also need to offer Fredrick b4 he commits elsewhere then we are stuck trying to get him to decommit and switch which is much more difficult
Yeah I’ll check with him. I talked to him 2-3 weeks ago and he hadn’t heard from OU but things may have changed since then.
Best wishes to you, Parker. May you be successful and blessed in all you do. I believe you’d find all that starting in Norman, but hope you find great things in South Bend.
Anyone know what his major/field of study looks to be?
Dear hunting, no doubt.
Oh, you’re such a deer.
Professional wrestling…
Kudos to Coach B and best wishes to Parker but one of the perks OU offers that ND doesn’t is being “OL University” according to the NFL. Alumni, schlumni, what in South Bend can possibly beat that?
Keep on ‘cruitin’ Parker, Coach B.

Happy July 4th Weekend TFB Family!!
Back atcha!
Thanks for the info. If he really does allow us to continue to recruit him then maybe if our season is going better than notre dame maybe there is still a chance. Just get him to Norman on game day and see how it goes.
what separates ND and OU is more than a win/loss issue … IT is about ND’s more respected academic reputation and post-football “connections” according to his Dad…..same issue applies when OU fights Stanford for highly-regarded prospects..The HS guys pick these prestigious schools for reasons OU can’t match…What OU can do is to recruit guys unable to meet the entrance standards of ND/Stanford and these losses will diminish……
Yes @disqus_0WNBsGXHbO:disqus, we all know that OU will never be held in the same regards academically as an ND or Stanford.
No need to keep kicking the horse sir—-we all know it’s dead.
Yeah but if OU is say anywhere between 11-2 to 13-0 and Notre Dame is 7-6 that will have some influence on his decision because he is a competitor and even though his reason for picking notre dame is a good one winning is still going to play a huge role not many kids are picking being mediocre on the field. and I know we just had an 8-5 season but if 8-5 is a bad season for OU that says something about what type of success is expected.
Kick Rocks!!
With the way this kid made his choice, Notre Dame can have him. What a doucher.

Were you looking in the mirror when you made that comment? That video was freaking awesome.
If I were able, I would do this just to announce to my wife what I wanted for dinner every night.
In this case, such a stunt would be awesome.
I’ve pondered looking at your link and finally decided not to.
I despise his choice and don’t care for attention seeking antics.
Please edit your comment to remove the last part. No personal attacks on kids
I dislike the whole direction recruiting is going, all the divas that want their top 20 lists and how they crave attention. Completely a different landscape than it was just 10 years ago
Based on his video, Parker didn’t disrespect any other school.
I’m old school too but the landscape has changed. I’m excited about any player who wants to further their playing experience at any level of college. The way in which they announce it is just fun for them. It’s a big decision and a relief once it’s made for all involved.
Watching kids do extra work for years to one day hope to receive an offer much less make that decision is really rewarding. Have fun, that’s what life is about but more importantly to a 17/18 year old. Enjoy the moment.
Sorry we missed on Parker but you can’t take his accomplishment away. Good for him. It isn’t over till it’s over – BedenBOOM!
I still remember being that age and if I was that talented there is a good chance that I would come up with something similar or even more over the top, however my father would have quickly shut it down and brought me back to earth and I would do the exact same for my son if he was ever this fortunate. I’m not even that old but I am old school in that regard, I will always rather see a touchdown followed by handing the ball to the ref than some silly dance. Act like you have been there before, whether it’s a TD, home run, or recruitment.
A Happeh 4th of July weekend to everyone. May you make it to July 5th with all your fingers.
“America is the only nation in the world that is founded on a creed. That creed is set forth with dogmatic and even theological lucidity in the Declaration of Independence; perhaps the only piece of practical politics that is also theoretical politics and also great literature. It enunciates that all men are equal in their claim to justice, that governments exist to give them that justice, and that their authority is for that reason just. It certainly does condemn anarchism, and it does also by inference condemn atheism, since it clearly names the Creator as the ultimate authority from whom these equal rights are derived. Nobody expects a modern political system to proceed logically in the application of such dogmas, and in the matter of God and Government it is naturally God whose claim is taken more lightly. The point is that there is a creed, if not about divine, at least about human things.”
–G.K. Chesterton
(Note: If the above is too long to read, the takeaway is America is awesome).
Best TL;DR ever.
Wish Parker the best. Some ND fans that I know were turned off by the way he committed which is hilarious. I thought it was a very cool and original way to announce a commitment. That boy is an ox!
I’m 54. I went out behind our warehouse and did the same thing with our 54 000 lb meat truck
OK so it only moved 4 inches but it moved… you can move anything on wheels in neutral once you get momentum . … In two years we will read about him either flunking out or being a bench player
So OU is Texass now?
Omg thank goodness we didn’t get him….who wants attitudes we want Gratitude

Have read multiple times that oline recruiting is the ‘least exact’ in the ability to project future success. Some kids mature later, hit a growth spurt, and turn into monster players later. PB is likely to be very successful if he continues to work. OU/Coach B will no doubt fill the spot with a solid recruit who just might turn into another nfl draftee. Stay Calm and Recruit On.
