– Devwah Whaley: Yesterday I caught up with 2016 RB Devwah Whaley out of Beaumont, TX. As I tweeted out (below), Whaley confirmed an initial report by ESPN’s Gerry Hamilton that he will be in Norman to visit the Sooners this weekend.
2016 Beaumont (TX) Central RB & #OU offer, @devwah_whaley confirms that he will visit #Sooners this weekend.
— Alex King (@AKing_Evals) March 19, 2015
Whaley told me Oklahoma is the school pursuing him the hardest right now. He followed that up saying he speaks to his primary recruiters, Cale Gundy and Jay Boulware, “every single day.” It sounds like the OU coaches are not only high on Whaley, but would really like to bring him in to the fold soon and, for all intents and purposes, wrap up their running back class for 2016 class. – (Alex)
– Dillon Stoner: Had a chance to speak with 2016 Jenks ATH Dillon Stoner yesterday. We had been playing a bit of phone tag last weekend and when we finally connected yesterday, he was on his way back from an unofficial visit to the University of Arkansas. Stoner said the Razorbacks HC Bret Bielema personally extended him the offer during the visit and that the Arkansas staff is looking at him as a safety.
Stoner is an incredibly fast athlete that has the ability to play on either side of the ball at the next level. Brandon had a chance to see Stoner move around in person at the Quick Twitch Clinics in Oklahoma City and came away very impressed. In fact, Brandon’s been raving about him for the past few months.
Stoner told us he has been in touch with the OU staff and is scheduled to call Kerry Cooks today. – (Super K & Brandon)
– Chris Baccus: Another Oklahoma native, 2016 NEO linebacker Chris Baccus, is starting to get some major attention on the recruiting trail. Baccus picked up offers from Arizona State, Nebraska & Washington State this past week. Interestingly one of our TFB readers told us about Baccus a while back and when I got a chance to review his film, I was thoroughly impressed (good eye TFB reader!).
Baccus is originally from Beggs, Oklahoma and when I asked him if he’s heard from OU yet he said, “no, not yet. That’s who I am waiting for.” He did say, however, that he has recently been in touch with Oklahoma State. Baccus is a December JUCO grad. – (Super K)
– Team News | Wide Receiver Notes: Although the Sooners have been on spring break and haven’t practiced this week, I did manage to get a couple notes on the offensive side of the ball from the little work they have done thus far.
I was told the coaches have placed various wide receivers at specific spots and have been working on certain plays as a form of competition for that particular spot in the offense. So, for example, guys like Jordan Smallwood and Dallis Todd — and around three others — are currently competing for the same spot. In the end they may decide to just get the best four WRs on the field, but as of now it sounds like the coaches are being particular about who competes for what spot.
I was also told they plan to (as most of us already know) run the offense with a very quick tempo and, as such, there will be a number of WRs involved in the rotation/receiving playing time. In fact, I was told they expect to rotate in as many as 10 different WRs within the offense. – (Super K)
– UPDATE (Sat., 3:10 pm): Alex has been in touch with these weekend’s visitor, Devwah Whaley who sent us these pictures from his trip today.

Re: Chris Baccus – I understand Kish is focusing his efforts on HS prospects but how can he ignore a homegrown talent as good as Baccus? Is he so confident he’ll fill his needs with HS LBs? If he’s right, good. If not, what? Then we offer Chris? Guess we have to wait and see.
Here’s my thing, I know OU isn’t secure at all with their young LBs and aren’t sure how they’re going to pan out. If they don’t then after next year you’ve only got Alexander and Jordan Evans. Meanwhile you’ve got a kid like Baccus who is older, with JUCO experience, is physical and athletic enough to play in space. Even if you don’t offer, you’ve got to at least be in touch with him so that there is a relationship there. Same with Dillon. According to Dillon he hadn’t received a jr day invite from OU…no mail…nothing. OU doesn’t have to offer Oklahoma kids but they definitely need to be in touch with the best ones. That isn’t to say they don’t communicate with OU kids but these particular two are good ones that seem to have been missed.
You always bring in the best talent and let them sort it out through competition. If one isn’t getting playing time then there could be some attrition. Happens.
I agree, OU should be in communication with these kids.
Dillon, you can’t coach speed and at S I’m not sure of the last player other than Bassey that was fast. 4.6/4.7 guys. Not sure about Parker and the new guys.
I was told by someone who would know that Stoner is even faster than Parker…that’s fast!
If Dillon is Steve Stoner’s son, he should have a great head on his shoulders. Steve is a pretty cool dude, very nice man.
It’s a interesting comparison, I don’t know which is faster though I’ve watched both play several times while they were at Jenks
I know I’m digging up past but I can still remember how fast Florida’s S’s were in the 2008 natty. They could get to any ball and I was blown away. Sam never saw anything like that before that game.
Im really hoping after this write up someone from the ou staff contacts baccus great person and hard worker loves ou.
Thanx K. Truly hope Kish opens things up. There’s a lot to be said about kids who have skills and WANT to be at OU. Even dream of it. We’ve had a lot of success and good luck with homegrown kids at any position.
Super K………………your comment makes so much good sense no OU coach will give this young man ‘ the time of day’ till he has committed to another school and OU wastes time / money trying to flip him……happens much too often every year………it must be the lure of California / Florida where the coaches can get in a round or two of golf between seeing prospects….yeh, that must be what it is……..
Lets go Sooners! (clap clap, clap clap clap) Lets go Sooners! (clap clap, clap clap clap)
I will have a game thread up tonight for OU/Albany. Promise not to forget to post this one 🙂
promises promises 🙂
Wasn’t there a Baccus playing at OU in the late 80s? If so are they related? Ah Stoner and Quillen, hoping to keep that Jenks pipeline open
Read elsewhere there is no relation, fwiw.
Ok thanks
no prob 🙂
Gary baccus lives I Norman I believe and matriculated to Norman from Brownfield, TX…….very good player in the Switzer era….
You’re probably thinking of Tom Backes, and he was from el Paso, and Tom was white.
Forgot about Gary Baccus, and he was also white.
The recruitment of linebackers has been a joke since Mike Stoops and Tim Kish arrived. From ignoring the Texas talent right out of the gate with players like Mike Mitchell to not going heavily at JUCO kids. I have no idea who is running the show at that position group but it’s evident by the level of play and recruiting that a poor job has and is being done. Oklahoma is returning a lot of young talent, both experienced and not, in the secondary…yet they still almost annually go out and recruit JUCO corners and safeties…..however at linebacker Oklahoma has the worst group in 50 years and they don’t try to infuse that group with a massive shot of talent…just stupid.
As soon as a move to the 3-3-5 or 3-4 was made they should have set out to speed up that transition with JUCO linebackers.
I guess DeBerry and McGinnis are jokes, right?
This sums up Oklahoma football for the past 6 years perfectly!!!
Ignore all the issues for however long the exist, whether it be making excuses or otherwise. But in the end just point to one small win.
We lost 5 games and were blown out by the better teams we played?….doesn’t matter we beat Alabama.
We can’t win big games anymore?….doesn’t matter we did from 2000-2004…and you guessed it…we beat Alabama.
We can’t recruit top talent and are falling behind?….did I tell you we beat Alabama.
Same thing with linebacker recruitng. Fall asleep at the wheel for years and manage to recruit average talent…but did you hear we signed 2 good players at those positions to work in our scheme that plays 3-4 linebackers at all times.
Don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s rain.
wow, dude. um, clemson was not even close to the best team we faced. the entire team didn’t care or that’s at least the way it looked. baylor beat the tar out of us. tcu we should have won and k st we should have won. we didn’t but it was really nothing tcu or k st did. those two games were the epitome of beating ourselves. its funny how much more than the coaches the monday morning qb’s think they know. the older you get, the more you know i guess. you think our lb’s stunk and stink. maybe, just maybe, they have a lot on their plate because we were very young and very very inexperienced at safety. don’t piss on yourself and blame it on somebody else
You should be banned from posting anything sports or football related after that excuse laden diarhea you just concocted.
The eye in the sky doesn’t lie…linebacker play at Oklahoma is worse than any other time in the past 50 years.
I can clearly see that cold hard facts are hard for you to grasp, obvious by the excuses and should haves and could haves you posted above concerning the 5 loss season Oklahoma just had. But your issues with the truth doesn’t change it.
And if you think your excuses are valid than why did Bob clean house with assistant coaches?
thanks for the attack, douchebag. but just cause you think something is the case doesn’t necessarily make it so. and if he was going to clean house with regard to assistant coaches and the lb play is as bad as you say there, johnny madden, don’t you think the lb coach would be gone? or are you now going to go with nepotism and the other mouth breathing company lines? and where did i give excuses? by saying we beat ourselves? wow. grab a dictionary and give’r a once over and see what you come up with
Silly fool!
The eye in the sky does not lie….watch the linebackers play, maybe even you can see it.
As for the excuses you made…reread your entire first post than understand that an excuse is defined as this – attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify.
So yeah…everything you said was essentially an excuse for Oklahoma getting beat by better teams.
i don’t need to reread it. i said we got beat, but we beat ourselves. on those 2 days, we need a chip shot fg and 1 stinking yd, respectively. so i would say the better teams on those days didn’t win. WE BEAT OURSELVES. can’t say it any plainer, sparky. period. end of statement. end of discussion. now go back to watching the tourney with your buddy stephen dale
You aren’t giving the other teams enough credit. Their play on the field is what had to do with our losses. You make it sound as though it didn’t matter what they did, it only mattered what we didn’t do. The teams we beat probably say the same thing…”OU wasn’t any good and we had our chances but we beat ourselves”. So maybe we should’ve lost more games…UT, WVU, Tech…
my above response to you is how i feel those games went down. we weren’t a great football team, but we were good enough to win these games. tcu was awesome and we should have beat them. we didn’t. k st was pretty darn good. we should have beat them. we didn’t. ok st was not that good. we should have beat them. we didn’t. i feel all three were on us and not on them
Dude, please lay off the name-calling. Your points are valid on their own merit. Making personal attacks devalues your argument.
Where are you and Stephen Dale hanging out tonight. I need some entertainment.
I’d agree TCU was a better team than Clemson, but I’d have to disagree that we should’ve beaten TCU. That was arguably our best game of the year, but TCU was better at almost every position than we were, with the exception of RB.
I don’t buy into the idea that we didn’t care or that we beat ourselves. If either is the case, then our coaches are doing a poor job–too poor of a job to be coaching at a program like Oklahoma and is why some (not enough) coaches lost their jobs.
But the real reason you lose 98% of games is because the other team outplayed you…they were the better team on the field that day. We had every chance to win vs oSu & KSU but we weren’t good enough. We had a shot at TCU, but their defense did what good teams do by picking off a QB who telegraphs every pass and returning it for a TD. We had no shot vs Baylor and Clemson. They were much better than OU.
yes. i’ll give you baylor and clemson. those were beyond ugly. but ok st was just a bad punt. some of you guys blame the rekick, which is fine, but if bob were to say that 100 times out of 100 he would do it again, i’m ok with that. but to kick away from coverage vs why take the chance is 6 of one, half dozen of the other, to me. k st was a missed 19 yarder with 4 minutes left(beat ourselves) and tcu, we needed one yd and ran shotgun with no edge blocking. yes the pick 6’s were awful and we had a brutal year, but in the end a horrible punt, a shank, and not picking up 1 single yd on a bad play call(all three at the very end of the game) bit us. this is my opinion. yours is a good one and its a good argument/discussion to have
We were up 14-3 on baylor, and did fine until we started playing off their WR.
no shot, much better than us? Thats a terrible analysis.
We needed at least 4 LBs in the last class, preferably more, but only signed 2. I guess it makes sense going back to the 4-3 since LB recruiting has fallen off.
Maybe that was the design from the start.
Claiming they made that decision after signing day is ludicrous.
just maybe, they made this decision way before signing day.
Who knows if they are or are not? They haven’t taken a single D-1 snap. But only signing 2 when you need a few more than that isn’t exactly a cause for celebration.
They didn’t need more; they have 11 on scholly for next year and will probably only have 3 on the field next year, so 11 is more than sufficient.
weird since OU has the highest ranked LB position group in the Big XII.
Says who??? You, lol. We’re they better than Texas or TCU’s linebackers last season?? Rhetorical question, I know the answer.
Made up position rankings are such a joke. All that matters is the eye in the sky…and this group of linebackers is terrible!
Using the Big 12 as a measuring standard isn’t setting the bar very high
Wow.
https://twitter.com/AP/status/578881226775334912
So instead of toughening up the testing because you think to many people are finding ways to get around it you just wanna get rid of the testing all together! What kinda logic is that?
I hate to suggest that it smacks of a) “We don’t want to spend the money”, and b) “We don’t really care about the kids and if they’re good enough to evade us, chances that our system will get indicted are remote, so who cares?”
lol…..what other state has that kind of testing? That is a ridiculous amount of money to spend at the HS level. Period.
You’re right, of course, but everything else associated with Texas HS football is utterly insane. Why not the drug testing?
Jenks has been doing it since I was in high school in the 80s-90s. I know they aren’t the only one.
From a statistical point of view, this may be a good decision. If you can’t improve upon the base rate then the test has little utility.
Maybe the parents, including this gentleman whose son allegedly died because of steroids, should be aware and engaged in their kids lives. Drugs and alcohol are likely more of a concern.
I feel for this guy, but from what I’ve read his son had other problems. Steroids probably didn’t play any part in his death.
randon, UNANNOUNCED testing might provide better results and quick, turn-around, repeat testing might catch some as well….
yes yes and more yes. why would you not run your testing like this, IF YOUR GOAL WAS TO ACTUALLY CATCH PEOPLE? the first time you test someone and turn around a week or two later and test em again and they get popped might be the last time you would need to do it. test everybody sometime as camp is starting and then one or two or three random tests with random teams and random guys on those teams
That guys son did not die due to steriod use, and the mental problems he was having were not die to them either. The kid was on anti-depressants and had issues….the father pointing the finger at steriods appeared to be little more than an attempt to assign blame.
I feel for him losing his son though.
I understand that as well.
Disagreed. The low number of people caught indicates the testing is effective and deterring players from using.
Can you prove that temporal causality?
Safety Brandon Burton…

Incredibly, OU always leads and/or has a great chance w/ every kid James Hale writes about.
Totally agree, although i have seen other quotes from the kid that he likes Riley & OU.. Any quarterback news peaks my interest.. Will be very interesting how that position is recruited this year..
I’m not necessarily disputing the kid’s own quotes — although after the whole Delance thing, I’m WAY more skeptical about stuff like that than I was before — but at the same time I’ve grown pretty cynical w/ respect to these kids knowing who they’re talking to and saying things, at least at times, they know the people/fans who will be reading it want to hear.
But that’s my own issue, admittedly.
You’re not on an island… I think most of us take recruiting stories & quotes with a grain of salt.. Social media has changed the game…
Any word on Woody Barrett or Haskins?
Article on Barrett below.
Haskins is planning to be in Norman next month for the spring game: https://thefootballbrainiacs.com/ou-oklahoma-sooners-football-recruiting-chanse-sylvie-dwayne-haskins-javaris-steward
Don’t see Haskins coming to OU let’s move on
And what do you base this informed opinion on?
gas
Yea, but dang, he’s consistent.
haha. does that mean he’s regular?
prolly and by his comments, it must happen fast too.
Right through a screen, I’m betting.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
He’s been talking to me ….
Match made in heaven.
God spoke to Urban Meyer in a dream.
No one saw Mixon either.
Wrong had a excellent connection with Gundy
And why wouldn’t Haskins have a great connection with Riley?
OU needs to contact Chris Baccus ASAP. Cant let and early grad JUCO ILB with good size go elsewhere
Be care with that term “good size” around here when talking about a backer…He’s the same size as both Evans and Alexander last year…I think he’d be a good addition personally but some want us having 250 pounders in the middle (with the ability to cover…lol who doesn’t)
yep. some people think sam huff, ray lewis and brian urlacher grow on trees and no matter where they are from, anywhere from seattle to miami, kish is an idiot and a brutal coach if he can’t get each and every one of em
JD, I’m with you but Baccus is long at 6’3 and hasn’t been in a big time off season regiment or with a nutritionist. Baccus could easily get to 240 by next year and maybe more the following year. Whether he is 225 or 250, it still comes down to the his ability, instinct, & heart. I like how he works in traffic, inside out angles, & speed.
I’ve seen 61 and 62..either way he’s the same size as Evans was last year…whom can also be close to 235 by season…it would be impressive for him to gain more than 10 pounds of good weight in 6-7 months…if he stays at 225 right now (he should be more physical by december though)…I think he would be a good addition (and hope we offer and get him) but he’s still comparable to Evans as far as physical appearance and I was mainly pointing out the complaints about bringing in backers that don’t already weight 240+ for the inside spots
he doesn’t live far enough away …..the staff is concentrating on out of state guys….
HA.
https://twitter.com/RJinVegas/status/578941773923270656
Cody Brewer moves on to the Championship Semifinals.
He must feel strange being the only quality wrestler on the OU campus…….
***facepalm***
I can tell from many of your posts on this site that you like to be negative about a lot of things (not including Texas) but I’m sure there are some on this site who would join me and prefer you not bash on OU students athletes. Thanks and have a blessed day.
Why wasn’t Baccus recruited out of HS? Late bloomer? Academics? Just curious.
Beggs hasn’t produced a quality D-1 prospect since Rodney Tate left the state for Texas back in the Johnny ‘Lam” Jones era………………..
He’s from Oklahoma. This staff avoids recruiting Oklahoma as much as possible.
Even if that were true, (which I don’t think it is) still doesn’t explain why he’s not at some other 4 year school. Not even UCO, NSU or Pitt St.
DeAngelis eliminated. 4 Sooners left.

Clark Glass advances
Either they aren’t televising the mats that OU is on or I’m looking away too long and missing them.
They’re probably just televising the championship side of the brackets. Brewer is the only Sooner on that side and his next match is later tonight.
Reed eliminated. 3 Sooners left.
Who are the 3?
Cody Brewer – 133 lbs, Champsionship Semi-Finals
Clark Glass – 165 lbs, consolation
Ross Larson – HVY, consolation
Larson eliminated. 2 Sooners left.
maybe Que OVerton can either help Larson improve or take his heavyweight spot next fall…
Thanks for the report on the wide receivers. I would guess that Jordan Smallwood, Dallis Todd, Durron Neal, KJ Young and Jeff Mead are the 5 competing for that spot, which would be the outside receiver opposite Dede Westbrook.
10. Different. Wide Receivers.
What they didn’t mention was we would also be using 3 different QB’s, arm fatigue.
KJ Costello announcing next week.. Think you can safely check him off the Sooners list, having never visited… USC, Stanford or Michigan are the likely choice…
Heuple would have had to build a relationship last year for the Sooners to have been any factor in signing this guy. Chances are, its a Michigan ( Harbaugh influence ) or Stanford ( need and Luck factor ) battle………the real ‘elite’ guys generally attend equally elite schools with high entrance standards and post-graduation networking….
Just….wow
You said it..
Just like only the elite posters post on TFB…..obviously though unfortunately a few slip through the cracks.
Did someone s*** in your cereal this morning?
He just takes a spoon to the bathroom
Trolling is the same phenomenon as obscene telephone calling. Typically males with inadequacy issues who are attempting to garner attention and some form of ‘power’. By provoking responses, no matter how negative, in an anonymous forum, they gain the ‘centrality’ that they can not command in real life and an illusion of control.
Although this behavior can form one step along the path toward violence, the sheer numbers demonstrate that most who indulge themselves in trolling remain the same pathetic, socially marginal non-entities they were when originally compelled to drop their meager puds and begin typing.
haha. hopefully he washed his hands
A keyboard is a very personal thing. Up to the individual.
Not everybody who disagrees with you is a troll I guess you want to stifle legitimate debate you communist reprobate.
yes. with your comment yesterday of something along the lines of “there are too many fans like you”, you’re really looking for debate. what this site has are too many negative people who think way way way too highly of themselves and of their own “opinions” and denigrate those who disagree with “sunshine pumping, head in the sand, crimson glass wearing, koolaid drinking everything’s ok-ness”
The difference with me I respect everybody’s right to disagree or to agree I believe in free speech just because you don’t agree with my view doesn’t make me a troll when you want to restrict someone’s right to free speech that makes you and my book a communist reprobate this is America get over it.
where did i say you can’t voice your opinion? you throw some weird stuff out there, but more power to you. but you go right ahead and think you are the Christian and everybody else ain’t and now we’re commies and you are the coolest ever. is this you?…
My original comments were directed at jed not you because he was given the indication that he said anybody that was negative was a troll if you read what i had to say you would no i wasn’t directing this at you but jed my point was jed was wrong I stand by that statement I wasn’t criticizing you you are the one that responded to me not the other way around.
i get that but he responded to stephen who was responding to stephen dale, who is perma-negative and bashes anything and anyone. so if your point to jed stands then so does mine to you
Stephen right now….
haha. yeah he kinda reminds me of hannibal lecter, with the selfie and everything. wonder what he likes with his chianti and fava beans?
I understand boomersooner Stephen dale is the most negative person on this site he might even be a real Oklahoma State fan and not a ou fan my only point is its it’s the idea of free speech everybody should have the right to say what they want on this site without being called a troll.
understandable but it also needs to be understood that one could get kicked right outta here for always stating negative things. it wears on people. its starting to sound like one of those things where “i should get to say whatever i want and if you disagree i’m just gonna act offended and sue you”. where i come from you get a rap on the beezer for that
I was making a general statement of fact as I perceive it. Not referring to any individual.
Unless of course a given individual wishes to self identify as a troll.
i would concur
James, have you ever known he-who-must-not-be-named to say anything positive? His comments are intentional and meant to start angst. Even when something positive happens and we land a huge recruit, he usually says something negative, such as, he’ll never play a down, I wish he’d just go away.
This is not at you but just making a point that he-who-must-not-be-named is a troll.
Because part of disagreeing with someone is realizing that there is valid and non-valid things both parties sometimes say. In other words, neither of us is always wrong and neither of us is always right?
Disagreeing doesn’t make you a communist. There are lot of social structures that are not communist, who disagree.
I agree with you i just told boomersooner the same thing stephen dale is negative
and it’s probably not even a ou fan my point is he should have the same right to say what he wants to just like you do I agree though he is totally very negative I think he’s an Oklahoma State fan.
You’re right: he should be able to say what he wants to say. But he shouldn’t say what he wants to say to piss someone off: let’s be honest, that’s his intent. I mean, really, who does stuff to intentionally make someone angry. I could never do that. Heck, no one capable of coherent thoughts would do that. Which leads me to accept what my friend, Boomer, has said before, the man is probably heavily medicated most of the time. If most people have a problem with me, I’ve gotta believe I’m the problem. He-who-must-not-be-named is and has a problem.
Agree he seems like a miserable individual.
Take a few minutes and read his posts. Negative, negative, negative. Look a little closer and you will see that about 99% of the time no one “likes” or “replies” to what he says. That’s a great indicator to me that folks are tired of him. To paint a clearer picture for you, if we were all in the same room, he would be standing alone, with no one attempting to engage with him. If he approached someone or a group already talking, chances are they’d walk away or he’d feel so awkward from non-verbal queues of people telling him “to get the hell away” that he’d leave.
apropos of nothing, I’m reminded of George Carlin trying to imagine what a ‘Commie Fag Junkie’ would sound like.
“Working for the world, tonight.”
And being a communist reprobate simultaneously?! Good Gravy! Perhaps that would be taking from each according to their needs and giving to each according to their abilities. Or maybe getting the labor theory of value wrong….intentionally.
Perhaps we can have a legitimate debate about it….
I’ll make some popcorn. 🙂
…
Don’t mind him, he was pegged months ago.
I asked him a rhetorical question…..and he answered it.
Is it OK if I go ahead and cite this in my next psychology paper? Haha great post!
Heck, he may be your teacher
Make sure you attribute the original source. The TFB is making it into term papers. LOL!
Just so long as you cite it properly: Jedworld, Volume 86, page 1,147. University of Upsaala Press, Upsaala, Finland. 2007
Is there a photo of him-who-must-not-be-named attached?
I guess Harvard is in for one hell of a recruiting class this year.
wonder why is isn’t going to Yale or Harvard.
With Clark Glass losing, Cody Brewer is the only Sooner left standing at the NCAA Wrestling Championships. He wrestles in tonight’s evening session in the 133 lb. semifinals.
Oh, hey, for anyone the remembers my dad was hospitalized a few months back with a couple of severe ailments. Well, I’m happy to say that he has finally been cleared to leave the ICU as of yesterday and we’re on our way to getting better! Appreciate all the comments of encouragement and support you all gave me!
awesome awesome news. glad to hear it
Excellent news
Outstanding!
Best thing I’ve heard all day. Hoping for even more improvement
Excellent!
Excellent news. Don’t forget, my wife’s an RN. If you have any questions about what you’re being told, just ask.
Happy for you and tell him we got a bunch of folks pulling for him.
Good news!
Sure hate that he and his family have had to go through this ordeal.
I wish Clear Skies and Following Winds for your entire family.
I hope you all have good batteries in your remotes this evening.

Even better lol. Huge two-game set for the softball team vs. No. 1 LSU.
I may watch more of that than basketball. I can’t get into a basketball game until the second half for some reason.
In March, that’s the best part.
Agree i am fired up for this LSU series to me Oklahoma is the most talented team in the country not those SEC schools.
Definitely the most potent lineup. Our pitching took a minute to find a groove but they’ve been really good lately. Looks like they have it figured out now.
And the baseball team opens a three game set with TTU tonight. Not on tv.
Yes it’s on fox Sports Southwest.
Not where I’m at. Sunday’s game is, but not today’s or tomorrow’s.
I am in miami all 3 games are on Fox Sports great weekend to be a Sooner fan baseball softball and basketball go Sooners.
Oklahoma or Florida?

Yes by the way I believe this team be as good as their 2013 national championship team they are just as talented also thanks love miami also all winter long its been in the 80s here while everybody else has been freezing I do love miami I got to admit.
I love bikinis
Of course you do!!
LOL
Whoa nelly, Devwah Whaley is shifty, strong, and fast! Dude has a great compliment of RB skills so there’s no wondering why this could be the guy coaches want to seal the deal on. Runs very well out of the shot gun too which I’m just taking a guess will be a requirement with the new offense. Reel this one in, Jay!
On another note, hoping Coach Kruger and the boys conjure up some nightmares for Albany tonight. Here’s to a deep tourney run for the first time since big Blake! BOOMER!
I miss Keith Jackson
Both of them.
Just want you to know, your user name is shu-weet. Well done.
Well thanks, may I say the same about your avatar. My favorite wrestler of all time I sure miss the mid-south days. Actually met Hacksaw once when I was 12. One of the nicest guys very laid back and sincere. Him and Dr. Death and those football matches OU vs. SMU those were the days. Thanks for the memories!!!
The All American or the subtly hilarious broadcaster?
Broadcaster. Most of ’em nowadays are hacks.
I agree. Sometimes it seems there are too many agendas out there these days to get a great, unbiased, pure football broadcasting. Always stories to fill in and identities to promote (sometimes shamelessly haha). But I’d watch OU play ball with a pitchy opera star singing the color commentary, they’ll never make me turn the TV off!
Word.
Ohhhh Nelly!
Whoa? Was it Whoa or Oh? Serious question…
It is Whoa! Can’t believe I messed up one of best calls of all time! Thanks D.R! Feel kind of freaky calling you Daddy!
Ha! lol. D.R. is just fine.
Them big ole boys from bama.
Concur. And SOONER!!!!!
Wow, nearly every single higher seed today has struggled. Are we seeing parity in CBB? Seems like anyone can beat anyone this year.
Belmont is hanging tough, if they win it OUs path to the Elite 8 is golden
It’s a pretty even field out there outside of Kentucky. This first (or second as they are calling it) round is always fun but next round will be telling.
To anyone who won’t have access to tv, you can watch the games here.
http://www.ncaa.com/march-madness-live
Great they have that, but man, my video feed for the OU game last night kept skipping and repeating itself over, and over, and over. Twas really annoying! Oh well, WE WON! lol
good grief……..uc irvine/l’ville……..uc has a 7’6 center………not aware of any player ever that tall………l’ville in a dogfight
muresan and bol are the only 2 that come to mind. don’t know how tall but they were up there
Bradley
Muresan, Bol, and Bradley were all like 7’6″, 7’7″ Crazy.
Wonder how Robert Wadlow would’ve done in the NBA…
yeah. looking at old pictures of all of em. it looks like 7’6 and 115 lbs. they were stick figures. obviously they’d have to be 240 or more just to have enough meat to spread out over that span. wow. just looked. muresan 315 and skinny, bradley 275 and skinny and bol 201 and yikes
Makes me smile to see a kid from Beggs getting some love. There are a lot of diamonds in the rough in the Creek-Muskogee talent pool. Talented but often disadvantaged youth.
Now get the man an offer!
Wonder if we’ll see any good tweets from Whaley this weekend?
Any relation to Dom Whaley?
No.
Well,
I’m just trusting the source/research of others who have said there is no relation.
I believe ya Ray!
Ha, I just refreshed and seen the pic. Well played!
Hello
…
Bummer. Girl’s SB lost a tough one 1-0. First time they’ve been shutout in a while. Try again today.
Hey, TFB. I appreciate all the skinnies do on the football field, I really do. The DBs, WRs et al., they’re great. But we fat faniacs want to see more fatty films. We want to see the 2016 hog stock. We want to see more pancakes on these Open Posts than a Denny’s on Senior Citizens Appreciation Day. We want a sack lunch urday, nam sayin’?
They don’t make film on players.
The film is definitely out there. I’m just not sure they get as many clicks as the skill guys. I enjoy going through the Rivals 300 and watching the Hudl film for the OL/DL.
I guess I missed what you were trying to say initially.
No worries, man. #filmsforfattys
I second this! I’m missing JY right about now! #filmsforfattys
The Boss Hog. The Professor of Pork. The Sultan of Swine.
here’s some good fat guy video to get you guys started
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYB3Fx0a8-4
A classic!
man, i wish he was still around. he could make me laugh like no other. too many guys today feel the need to cuss to be funny. will ferrell cusses too much, but he’s a funny dude
There will never be another Chris Farley. Icons die young, and yet they live forever.
Hey, boomer, who’s your favorite Little Rascal? Is it Alfalfa? Or Spanky?
haha….sinner
LOL
guys tennis wins. hansen throw cg 3 hitter with 10 k’s and beats tech 5-2. women’s hoops cranking on quinniapiac…good start to the day
Good news i heard women’s softball game might be rain any news?
i got nothing
I heard the game but been moved up to 5 o’clock because of the threat of rain it sounds like they are having trouble starting the game no news on the SEC network either that the game has started.
finally found something. doesn’t sound like a good start for us
https://twitter.com/OU_softball?DB_OEM_ID=31000
The good news is this team will be a lot better in may and june it’s a young team they still don’t have Georgia Casey when Georgia case he comes back and some of these young players get some experience I think they’ll be a lot better reminds me of the 2012 team that made it to the championship game against Alabama it may take some time but they’re going to be very good by the end of the year.
i agree. the only thing is getting stevens consistent. parker is pretty good and if stevens can get it figured out, having two studettes in the tourney would spell trouble for everybody else…and yes casey is a huge bat outta the order right now
With Stevens struggling right now I would like to see them give Shelby Pendley chance to pitch she seems to do well when she’s in there.
Whaley retweeted this:

I’m not sure what that means, but I’m digging it. Could somebody translate?
Assuming it’s something to do with this:

I love the picture….. But I’m a graduating in order type of guy…. Flip AD and Demarco… But that is just me… LOVE the poster! Come on down Devwah!
I looked at it as showing the greatest in the middle, with two badass flankers by his side…
I guess growing up a Sooner I have a different perspective, but how in the heck do you get that trip to OU, take that tour, those pics, and not commit? Cray.
I guess kids with that much potential have a few more options than you and I had at that point in our lives.
I’d rather see kids putting a lot of thought into major decisions like this than making an impulsive commitment they wind up changing later.
I understand your point, Sir. However, when my oldest daughter was blessed with that tour last year her immediate question was, “what day do I move into Headington?” She lives there now. My 2nd daughter is being watched today in Indy at a VB tournament – her comment to the coach -“Don’t recruit me, just put me on the committed list and let me know!” I have another daughter and a son…all dream of playing for OU. And, if blessed with that tour, and offered, would commit on the spot.
My point is, I wish more athletes loved OU like my family and thought every other college inferior.
Hey everybody. Just got back from the aquarium. What’s happened today? Don’t forget to tune in to ESPN at 7 pm to watch Cody Brewer go for a national title. Boomer Sooner.
women’s gym wins again. shocker
The wife surprised me today with this t-shirt. She’s a keeper.
Nice. Yeah, don’t send her to the mill anytime soon.
i’m calling bull if someone says there’s perfect brackets still out there. no way you pick the right 3/14’s on BOTH of em AND pick nc st, a middle of the pack acc team, to beat a team with 2 losses
I picked LSU to beat ‘Nova. So close.
feeling LSU or just didn’t trust nova?
Thought ‘Nova was overrated. I pegged them to lose today. Honestly, I flipped a coin when picking LSU/NCST.
yeah that’s all i heard about that game. either team would give it away before they’d go out and win it. one of the toughest to pick of the first rd is what i heard
Next year I’m flipping a coin for every first round game except the 1 & 2 seeds
haha. i don’t know where these little schools pull it from. you face nobody all yr and then smack a big boy in the mouth. its awesome tho. the beauty of the tourney is all you have to do is be better for a few hrs not for a whole series
1 shot. Nothing to lose. If shots are falling, anything can happen. Gotta love March Madness.
thurs and fri of the tourney are the only thing that can stand up to christmas for me. unless we’re battling for a title, then that day is the best if we pull it out(that’s what she said)
You can’t set me up like that and then take the punchline, also. Bad form. lol
haha. my bad. it was really hard not to………
I understand
word 🙂
I believe there are no longer anymore.
yeah i’d think somebody would be filling it in with pencil if they had one still
one of the better games so far……….ncst downs 1 seed nova
that was a heck of a ballgame. utes and gtown is awesome too. nd-but should be a good’n too
Whaley commit yet?
Cody Brewer up next on ESPN
Thanks.
Nice crowd there.
It’s exciting. Wish I was there.
Great job by Brewer.
Tough hombre and now he has a title that stands forever.
Can’t wait to see a repeat next year
He should work with our DL players and help instill some of that aggressiveness and body control.
He annihilated that 133 lb. bracket. It was impressive. That’s the main thing I think the D as a whole has been lacking – the killer instinct and FU attitude. Man, that was awesome! lol
BOOMER!
SOONER!!!
Cody Brewer is a National Champion!!

Sweet. Thanx!
The guy in second looks sooo disappointed/pissed.
That’s because Cody dominated him in the final

Happy Sunday, faniacs! Enjoy your families. At home, at church, and elsewhere.

Don’t bring my people into this. 🙂

Here, this one is better! LMAO!!
What am I going to do with you?
That’s what’m
Hey, at least I caught it myself this time! HA!
SOONER!!!!!!
softball wins. tennis wins its wknd tourney by beating baylor in the final. baseball is winning. here’s to hoops finishing up a solid wknd
Man, Tasin was locked in today. Good series win against a Top-10 team.
They won 2 out of 3 against Texas Tech don’t forget the also Oregon State earlier in the year good start to the season for the baseball team also the the women’s team. A good win against an underrated McNeese State team.
This team could be really good by the time May rolls around. Deep staff and an excellent lineup. Can beat anyone on any given day.
I agree I really like about this team they lead the big12 in era and strikeouts that’s the sign of a really good baseball team.
And, conversely, our lineup rarely strikes out. Averaging less than six per game. A lot of contact and power. When you’re outs are productive, good things happen.
yeah. especially since he didn’t start. really nice job being mentally ready to go when choplick only faced 4 guys and didn’t get any out. picked us up big time. stats on both sides seems to be really good, so seem a little unlucky to be just 17-9
I think a lot of the early season struggles can be attributed to Coach Hughes trying to figure out the optimum lineup. A lot of guys have been shuffled in and out and switched positions. I think the time May rolls around, this team will be clicking on all cylinders. Plus, the warmer weather will benefit our young arms.
I hope they go with robert tasin more often and bring choplick out of the bullpen are pitching is stronger that way.
Choplick has been really good this year. He and Hansen can get wild at times. But, when they are throwing strikes, they are dynamite.
I was only implying that i thing tasin is more consistent and choplick could help us more out of the bullpen.
I dig what you’re saying and it may be something Coach Hughes looks into. The good thing about this team is we have a lot of good arms that can fill a lot of different roles. Kinda just depends on whose stuff is working and whose isn’t. I like having plenty of options, though.
Huge win over No. 3 Baylor for the tennis team. I like that they’re taking on the best teams and beating them down.
Softball wins versus LSU? Awesome. Thanx. You have a score?
no. mcneese. we won 3-0
Cant wait to see where Chris ends up, been watchin from the west coast and wherever he lands we’ll be paying attention out here fa sho
